About Ila IndigoTactics:
Ila defaults to spirit-sensing stance at the beginning of the day and when out of combat.
If I need to be botted, you have permission to waste-it-all, spell-slot or maneuver-wise, unless I expressly make a call-out for something I have planned! But, don't like, literally waste it. By like, casting invisibility on Khar who's fighting a guy. Ila does not overextend to flank. Ila uses the reach of her first attack in reaching blade stance whenever possible. Ila will always use Resiliency when dropped below her health threshold, unless I expressly make a call-out. Ila always uses Unbreakable Gambit on Will or Fort Saves in combat, this trumps using Resiliency if both would trigger. Alignment: Neutral Good, Ila is neutral good because she believes in intent and the greater good. At the end of her life, law and order, chaos and entropy, will have continued on as it would, but the constant of the good that she and others have done will continue onwards, guiding the future in a place of light as opposed to a place of darkness. Most importantly, however: As a worshiper of Pharasma, she recognizes that death is only part of the journey. Race: Human Race Powers: • Focused Study: Humans gain Skill Focus in a skill of their choice at 1st, 8th, and 16th level. • Skilled: Humans gain an additional skill rank at first level and one additional rank whenever they gain a level. • Favored Class: Rogue. +4 Skillpoints. Ila always seems to be dressed for the occasion, thanks to a bit of magic she picked up somewhere along the way. She has a heavy navy coat that she can ready at a moment's notice. She always wears a bag on one side, a scarf around her neck, and a necklace with a pair of rings below that. Her face has a vivid tattoo of Pharasma's holy symbol. Her skin is the warm tanned color of someone who spends hours daily outside, and her blonde hair has grown to a point she has to keep it out of her face. Her sea-colored eyes seem to dance in the light. -----------------------------------------
Ila was born to a traveling midwife and apothecary (and hedge-wizard). The hedgewizard was sickly for the majority of his life, but still managed to perform his duties (and rarely stir up trouble). The majority of her youth was uneventful, but lonely; time was mostly spent traveling from city to village to city to provide goods and services, which left Ila separate from the majority of children her age (and her outlandish looks made her somewhat of a paraiah during those times she did have with peers). At the age of eight, her father fell too ill to continue traveling, and so the trio settled in Korvosa. Ila continued to study both under her mother and father, while expanding on the artistic skills she'd gained during her long trips and time spent alone. She didn't particularly enjoy sitting still, but at least there was an opportunity to get to know people. Not many years later, Ila's father passed, leaving only herself and Maria, her mother. It was at this point that Maria began to 'collect' children, feeding and clothing them, keeping a roof over their head, all the while Ila continued to learn her mother's occupation, and help to provide for her ever-expanding 'family'. During this time, Maria's wedding ring went amiss. Eventually, Ila met with a family who had lost their child and couldn't find them, curiously, Ila met that very same child in the city square; after catching the girl, she was lead to Gaedran Lamm who was most assuredly not the father. And he had the wedding ring that had disappeared from her mother's nightstand on his finger. Disappearing children, she soon discovered, was an epidemic within Korvosa, and not believing in coincidence, she informed her mother (both of the child, and the ring)... who knew a few other people who had been harmed by Gaedran Lamm. And that was so, so long ago... As for Qs:
1. Ila's financial situation is... stable. She's able to take odd jobs, and thankfully, the majority of Ustalav has shrines and temples to Pharasma. Even still, the money she started her journey with is starting to grow ever more shallow, and the trail ever more cold. Her family, on the other hand, is not so lucky. One is a prisoner and the other is long-dead.
2. Ila has sandy blonde hair that hangs to shoulder level and keen eyes the color of the line where the sky meets the sea. Her face is consistently emotive, betraying whatever secrets she's trying to keep. On her left cheek is the spiral of Pharasma, tattooed in saffron and sapphire. From her neck hangs a delicate silver chain with a pair of unadorned golden rings. Her typical outfit is loose, fluffy midnight blue and gold silks that easily dry after a rain, and keep her cool during the heat, though she also has a black cloak with what was once white fur - soiled by the nasty inclement weather of Ustalav in case of particularly heavy rains or a cold spell. Finally, she has a long silken black dress with white accents in case of a need for interaction with nobility. Her scarf, whose whorling patterns are reminiscent of the tattoo on her cheek is ever-present. A single strap holds a wide messenger bag to her side, the whole ensemble finishing in sensible shoes that can be worn with any of her outfits without looking tedious or pretentious. While adventuring and during travel, she wears a heavy-looking midnight-blue duster. 3 and 8. Ila was born and raised in Korvosa, prior to her life being sent into a downward spiral. She's come to Ustalav chasing after the Whispering Way, a group of cultists who stole something beyond priceless from her. While she harbors an disgust for undeath in all forms, she's not so much an undead hunter as she is uniquely capable of dealing with them. 4. Ila became a spiritualist shortly after discovering her mother's corpse (or rather, her head) in the lair of the man her spirit had guided her to take vengeance upon. Were it not for her faith, the experience would likely have shattered her mind, but eventually, her mother's death was an accepted part of her life, one more name in her morning rituals - never forgotten, but never again a weight she would feel incapable of bearing. Her travels from Korvosa on the heels of the Whispering Way have made her significantly more worldly and capable. 5. Ila is skilled with a needle, whether quick action to save a life is necessary, or something of a more artistic bent is what someone is looking for. Her father had been an artist, and her mother had never parted with the simple pigments and dyes necessary for his craft. Whether sutures or sigils, Ila is capable. She has also made money performing odd jobs while traveling, though typically, her interactions have resulted in favors and information, rather than payment. 6 and 7. Ila is friendly, kind, and for the most part, open. She recognizes that life is a journey, truth is subjective, and that no one gets out alive. Good will and humor are vital parts of life to Ila. She has a hard time disguising her emotions, though she's no more likely to act upon them than anyone else. She is deeply religious and devoted to Pharasma, a faith that she was raised in. |
