This is campground closing weekend and Bronx Zoo day, so I will be mostly off line Sunday, October 9th, thru Tuesday, October 11th, while we close up the camper Sunday and Monday, and take our grand daughter to the Bronx Zoo on Tuesday. Back Wednesday.

I am beginning to feel better. So hopefully it will just be work killing me slowly.

But anyway, I just found out that the roll20 map doesn't work on phones! So I definitely need to figure out some time to squeeze in about a hour a day for computer use. >.<


Per above, I am off till Wednesday. Bot me as necessary. Mahk will continue to shoot arrows unless the critters come down and approach, then he will switch to his scythe (via Quick Draw feat).

And it's good to hear you're feeling better Alayi. And yeah, I found that out too a while back that Roll20 doesn't work on phones unless you or the gm is a subscriber or something. And even then, it doesn't show up too well on one's phone.

I allow player to post their intended actions out of turn in this such case, on the condition that they understand that unless they revise their action before I update, they aren't able to if a situation changes.

In such cases of targets already being dead, I just switch to a different enemy target. In short, if I think its reasonable, I'm fine with it.

Well so far, Josria has been killing them left and right. :3 Magic missile has been quite helpful. I probably should have picked summon monster I, or mage armor (probably mate armor). But oh well. Burning hands will surely come in handy.

Okay I can't see where I am in relation to the Pugwampis but is it possible to kill them with burning hands and not catch Adroushan in the crossfire?

Just curious here but if we kill the Pugwampis before it reaches my turn, does that mean my last spell for the day is not wasted? Just making sure I understand how you run combat that's all.

Josria, as you would have followed right after Adroushan, technically you would have killed the second of the two Pugwampis with your spell. If however you believe Josria would have held back and were confused about how I run combat, you can retro-actively not have cast your spell and keep it. But this would be the only time.

Understood. I was a bit confused by all of the high rolls everyone got, so I was trying to figure out had the last two Pugwampis been killed.

Also, and this is some dire news here, but my iPhone is acting up, so I'm trying to get it fixed (could be a software issue, or worse the battery is messed up). This will impact my posting rate some, but I'll still try and post as often as I can from my laptop before work.

So, keep y'all's fingers crossed. And I apologize about this. I'm concerned that my phone got messed up during the hurricane when I had numerous power surges prior to losing power when Matthews came through.

Okay....

Crisis averted! After looking online, I found that sometimes if you let your iPhone's battery drain to 0% (which you're supposed to do occasionally), the battery may not have enough juice to charge back up. According to what I found online, simply using a blow dryer to warm the phone up enough for say 5-10 minutes and then immediately plug your iphone into a charger, the iPhone starts right back up. Phew! Glad that's over.

Also, it's cool. I'll just have Josria cast the magic missile, since technically I did kill the last pugwampi.


My home game, which dissolved September 2015 after 25 years, played Shattered Star.

On a scale of 0 to 9 with 0 being Combat, Puzzles and NO roleplaying, and 9 being you Roleplay even every day purchases, my guys generally were a 1 or 2, and Shattered Star was a good fit for them.

Regarding Shattered Star itself:

Spoiler Alert !!!:

Chapter 1: role playing early, then a big dungeon.
Chapter 2 - 5: some role playing, but largely dungeons.
Chapter 6: role playing early, then a medium sized dungeon.

There were bits of role playing thru out the chapters, and depending on the group, it could be enough except for the hard core role players.

^I'm actually playing in a Shattered Star game on the forums that just had it's 2nd anniversary in September. We've only just started Book 2 but we've had a great time with it so far. One thing that did help though was the GM subbing out some of the dungeon crawling and subbing in the Feast of Ravenmoor module (GREAT module if you like creepy stuff btw) as something of a side mission we needed to do to get a thing to progress further in the main dungeon.

I think it probably depends on the GM; ours has been really good about offering opportunities to interact with the people around the city and the group itself has been pretty good about interacting with each other. It's probably currently my favorite game that I'm playing in :)

Had to look it up in my old D&D monster manual, but that fiery serpent man is a fire salamander. Hm...I'm surprised that Josria wouldn't know that Considering her roll.

Gm is there some sort of Knowlege DC I have to beat or does the AP not even tell us if we decide to deviant or add to the story? Just curious here.

To be honest, the module didn't tell me what that creature was, so I have no idea. since it wasn't integral to the game at the moment, and its bad for the GM to say "no idea," I decided to give you a vague-ish answer that would hopefully satisfy you.

Oh no, it's perfectly alright. Actually I was satisfied with that answer actually. It just took me by surprise that's all. And the fact that the module didn't tell you what kind of creature it was was also a bit of a surprise as well. So it's cool.

Well, I retired from IBM almost seven years ago (after 35+ years working there as a programmer / engineer), so normally I only work four hours a week, but this week there were some sick folks so I went in extra.

I am also an Ordained Deacon in the Episcopal Church, so my job at the hospital is a Chaplain. I visit and comfort patients and families. Very rewarding work in my retirement.
