Apologies, Finals week is bearing down on me. Will try to get some updates done soon, but grades come first.

I hear you there! Take all the time you need. Just making sure I keep active on the threads so you all know I haven't disappeared or anything.
Good luck! :)

Alem abd-al-Hassan |

Sorry all, power's been out for a bit. I got an emergency charge on my phone, but I'm not sure when power will be back to normal. Hopefully this weekend.

To all my games, I am going to be leaving tomorrow for a humanitarian trip to help those in need. I will only have access to my smartphone at the time, so I will not be able to post during this time. I estimate my return to the boards in the first week of January.
If I'm a player and you find this absence unfavorable, I understand if you remove me from the game.
If I'm the GM, and you'd rather leave the game if it stalls for this long, I understand your withdrawal.
In either case, message me and we'll get things sorted out.
But I do wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Unexpected circumstances have rendered me internet-less until our new modem arrives sometime in the upcoming week. I apologize for the inconvenience. :(

First day of me posting in the New Year, thanks for the patience folks.
I think my last post stands as a question. I've cleared up the map to show you all what the situation looks like, so you can reference specific buildings. To reach the Battle Market, you have to wind your way around or try and scale the elevated area.

Alem abd-al-Hassan |

That outage was painful. Sorry for that, everybody. I hope everybody's had a splendid holiday!

Arian al-Okeno |

A little discussion time!
Since the DM says we can reach B4 without trouble, the question is how to get to the battle market from there. It's literally just across the street, but that means crossing open space and going up a hillside without getting shanked by guards. A few ideas come to mind.
• Someone raises an obscuring mist in the morning (when mist would not look too unnatural) and we hoof it across quickly under concealment.
• We do some kind of goofy end run around through the water to the north, or along the ruins to the south, and then try to find a clear spot to scale our way up the hillside and get to the market
• We use disguises to try to get across
• or we brazenly walk up to the front door once we come out of building B4!

Zoisa the Magnificent |

Can any of us cast obscuring mist? I like that plan, but I'm not sure how feasible it is.
I'd love to be able to cast it, though! I'd flavor it as Zoisa blowing pesh smoke to confuse her enemies! :D

Alem abd-al-Hassan |

Gotchu fam! Alem has Obscuring Mist. I might have to think of some desert-appropriate fluff for it, though.

Zoisa the Magnificent |

I'm just worried that it'll "advance the plot," so to speak? Like, we go to the battle market and have a big fight that lets us take over the town, and then we move on to the next part, missing out on encounters and things we could have found if we took more time to look. Like in Dragon Age: Origins if you didn't do all the sidequests in Lothering before completing a leg of the main quest, you can't go back because the town's been destroyed so those quests and their rewards are Lost Forever.

Zoisa the Magnificent |

Well, the Super Bowl is done and the Patriots have left my hotel, so I should be back to posting more regularly now. Sorry, folks!
Also, MAN I've been bungling my stealth checks! I'll never become a famous liberator of slaves at this rate! D:

Alem abd-al-Hassan |

That Patriots were staying at your hotel? What was that like? As for stealth checks, just play it up! Maybe she does her own stealth music?

Alem abd-al-Hassan |

Hey, I'm trying to get back in the saddle on all my games after my absence, so I'm trying to resume regular posting by this weekend.

DM Default |

Gotcha gotcha. Zoisa's been the main poster for a long while, so I wanted to make sure that it wasn't one of those situations where I may call for combat, and there's only one player left.

Alem abd-al-Hassan |

I've never made it this far into Legacy of Fire before. Not sure exactly what I was directing, but this wasn't it. I guess we don't have to sneak around quite so much.

DM Default |

From my understanding, the part was hired to help secure an abandoned city only to find it has actually been taken over as a sort brutal settlement for those who can stomach it. To get into the city, there are patrols that would attack and assault you, but your stealth and strategy mitigated that issue.
I will tell you there is a rough timeline of events to follow, so your invitation to the battle market was no coincidence.
Essentially, to lay claim and restore the good of the city, your facing something much more organized than you anticipated.

Zoisa the Magnificent |

Just to let you all know, my posting will slow down this week as I'm joining my family on a trip to Chicago! I'll post if I have a spare moment, but if things need to move along, please bot my character. Thank you! :)

DM Default |

Everyone go ahead and roll initiative. This map has multiple levels and I don't think I will get it posted tonight. Sorry for the delay.

DM Default |

Guys I need to be honest here. I've been trying to find a good map online to use, but I can't find anything that isn't super confusing. And I tried to make it from scratch but Roll20 is not working with me.
Would it be alright to do this one theatre of the mind?

DM Default |

Sorry for the late response, we're about to enter a large battle with multiple parts. However, it is also near the end of the first book. With that in mind, and around 3 active players, what do you all feel would be the optimal choice here?
I CAN tone down the difficulty, but this battle will be theatre of mind as mapping it is causing a lot of issues on my end.
