Game Master Liam

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-4.

A missing Starfinder ship's distress signal would have gone unnoticed were it not for a passerby detecting it and selling the information to the Society. The PCs are to travel to the crippled starship, and once aboard, reach the bridge in order to piece together the tragic story of the vessel's lost crew. Only by unraveling the mysteries of the drifting starship can the PCs hope to uncover information critical to the Exo-Guardians future operations.

Content in Cries From the Drift also contributes to the ongoing goals of the Exo-Guardians faction.

Donovan is a little insecure but at the same time super excited that Kai and the crew really achieved the impossible - another shot at the opponent!

+0 AC for being medium frame
+2 for Mk2 Armor
+2 for your ranks of piloting makes
+2 evade maneuver moves

16 AC - which is about what I see at second level.

I have two gunners with a +6 gunnery, but smaller weapons than what the Limitless has. I'll explain the fight when it is over in the discussion area. If I explain it now it'll spoil it. I have seen the right ideas in the game so far.

The Dead Suns book 1 ships are smaller and have higher ACs because of that.

I have seen low level ship combats go both ways. You guys are clearly winning this one despite how often I hit.

I thought the Pegasus had a base of 14 before Pilot skill and Evade. I guess I remembered wrong.

There's a misprint of one in the Quests. It has a higher AC And TL.

But they hit that with an errata a while back.

Sorry, can I get our current shield values? They just hit us twice in front shields,but I'm not sure if it's better to rebalance our shields or divert shields from one side to the front, because I don't know what our current values are. Please and thanks!

yeah, I was trying to figure that out. I think we should use something like this

to designate the current shields on the slides. I made a prototype in the slide deck. I was pondering this earlier and I think it might work. Take a look and let me know what you think. I've asked folks what they use for PBP space combat and mostly I hear "don't run space combat missions"

you should ask GM Tyranius how he does it. Kai has piloted a ship in scenarios run by Tyranius at least once and it was pretty smooth. Fast, even.

I'm having a great time! I don't think you've found the most efficient way to run space combats yet, but that's not a complaint. They're very tricky in PbP and I'm still having a great time.

I looked through, and realized I didn’t get as many points to the front when I should have, so yes, we are at:

make sure you add your diplomacy to that roll - that makes it a 14 - you still failed but just by 1 instead of 6

Donovan hears the commands and sees the power level for the turret weapon fluctuate. He aims and follows the lead of the pilot and shoots at the port side of the honorbound.

@GM:I'm not using diplomacy for gunnery (or piloting) - I'm using "same skill", so the DC is only 10. Engineering or Computers I couldn't try untrained, so there I would need to use diplomacy with DC 15.
@Donovan Borde:I think you got the bonuses right. You could type the dice tag with bonuses separated, for easier reading, e.g. dice=Gunnery, computer bonus]1d20 +2 +1...

Shots are being delivered back and forth, but seems like neither ship has suffered any major damage. Inexperienced as he is, Qaru has difficulty to tell who's winning, and what they should be doing. But more firepower cannot be bad, so he keeps encouraging the gunners.

Captain action: Encourage gunnery
gunnery aid: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7

yeah, piloting/gunnery is untrained. carry on.

and Qaru is right either 1d20 + (2+1) or 1d20 +2 +1. Other than that you are doing fine. You can also do your damage along with it so you don't have to edit so much. I post mine all at once and go back and mark the hit and miss items. Editing will not change your rolled values unless you change the dice entry.
