@Kintal: Your background probably could use a bit of brushing up to reflect you being in Blue Quartz instead of Shibbati. Also, I couldn't find mention of what type of armor you were wearing. Based on your armor bonus I assumed studded leather. With your Dodge Feat and racial AC bonus, btw, that puts your AC at 20.
Likewise, I assumed a buckler with your shield and a rapier as a weapon. I believe your attack stats were off a bit. With your size bonus and weapon focus you're at a +7 with a rapier, not a +6.
Your languages are racially based but need to be regionally based. You can find the list here.
Finally, I suspect your money totals are off. I don't think you should have over 400 gold pieces left after buying gear.
@Dawna: Your character sheet balanced perfectly. Thank you.
Everyone else, I need to go run errands. I'll finish the remaining three sheets up and get the campaigns started tonight.

@Dawna: Your character sheet balanced perfectly. Thank you.
You want me to make it look this in here?
JGray |
@Dawna: You don't have to. I just find setting up character sheets this way allow me to A) make sure all stats are proper and right, B) learn just what each character can do and C) provides an easy to peruse reference for quick stat checks. I'll be using the wiki pages I set up when running the game. You should use the resource best formatted for you. So long as my resource and your resource match in numbers than we are good. That being said, if you want to use the wiki by all means, I encourage it.
@Telthes: Go for it.
JGray |
@Leiko: You have the option of picking a second preferred class. Which would you like beside Cleric?
Also, you took a boost to your Channel Energy ability as your favored class bonus but you don't HAVE Channel Energy at 1st level. It is replaced by Sermonic Performance. Would you like to change your favored class bonus?
Beyond that, I think you balance alright. Here's the wiki page with your sheet.

@Milo: I'd very much like a background for your character.
You'll want to change the language "Infernal" to "Invader". The languages of demons and devils are unknown in Krystallos but the language of Tiamat's slave-armies is known. Also, which halfling language would you prefer to know? There are two: the language of the Emerald halflings (more like traditional hobbits) or the Turquiose halflings (more like modern D&D halflings). You actually are short on languages. You're allowed two more plus your regional language. So, you'll need to decide where you come from. If you pick the Kingdom of Amethyst you can replace your regional language with another language.
You can find the languages of Krystallos here.
I'd like to note that your Dimensional Slide ability isn't actually opening a crack in the dimensional barrier. Instead, you're folding space. It doesn't affect the mechanics but it might affect the flavor. Most teleporting and "bigger on the inside" abilities in Krystallos are due to folding and warping space rather than dimensional shifting.
Lastly, are you sure on your remaining gold? 600 gp seems excessive.

@Telthes: Where does the Zeal of Battle trait come from? I can't find it in the SRD. Is it a 3rd part trait?
Other than that (and any language changes you want to make) you're golden. Here you go.
Leiko |
By the time I actually get a bonus from that favored class bonus, I will have Channel Energy. FCB of the type I chose are always rounded down, so I won't get any actual benefit till level 3, at which time I will have Channel energy.
As for the sheet, yes, that looks appropriate, though she's not currently wearing her chain shirt. If she's ambushed right this second in the bar, her AC will be 12.

Hmmm - don't think I ever rolled for gold.
How much gold are we supposed to have? I see normal starting, which would be 5d6*10 for me, but then you are noting gold of 400 and 600 on character's sheets. Did I miss something, or are people getting additional gold from a trait or something.

Sorry I missed typed it. It should be Zest for Battle. Found Here

@Leiko: In this case, I would houserule rounding down to a minimum of 1. Which means you'd get +1 HP this way. You can change your favored class bonus from level to level. You don't need to stick with it.
@Kintal: Some people took a trait that added how much starting gold they have. Others, I think, messed up and I've asked them to make changes.

Gameplay has begun!
I know most of you are veterans of play-by-post but in case you are not here's some tips that'll help:
- Feel free to roll things in advance. In other words, if you want to make a Knowledge check to see if you know something or a Perception check to scout out a room or a Diplomacy check to Gather Information, make the roll in the same post that you announce intent in. I'll make adjustments as needed based on circumstance or tell you if the roll is the wrong one.
- Be aware that I'll often roll for you to speed things along. This is especially true when it comes to Initiative and Perception checks. I will, however, show you the rolls I make so you know there was no cheating.
- Anything your character says should be bolded. Anything your character thinks should be italicized. Actions and descriptions should be in normal text. Use the ooc dohicky to say things directly to me or your fellow players.
- If you look down below the post you'll see a "How to Format Your Text" button. Click on that and you'll see a list of formatting commands that work here, including dice rolling. Very useful.
- I won't be giving out XP. Instead, you'll level up at specific points in the story. I think that'll help move things along and keep focus on the IC events and not the OOC ones.
- Eventually we'll be bringing maps into this. When we do, I'll post a link to the map. We'll be using these maps for both exploration and combat. When in exploration mode, I would like you to move your tokens on the map just like you would if you were in combat - you don't need to stick to movement rules in terms of squares per round but if I have a visual of where you are in a room I can better plan and describe what's going on.
That's it for now. I'm working on a "J's rules for the campaign" list but that might be a few days off.
Thanks for playing. I hope you enjoy the game!

Working on Kintal's equipment. Will think about his background. I will probably rearrange the order of his adventures since the Citrine Waste and the Quartz Territories are so far apart and getting him from one to the other would be be a strange addition since it would require going through the Emerald Shire, and why he would not simply have set up shop there to demonstrate his culinary skills.

Yeah, the equipment and languages were parts I left for later initially. So the gold is way off.
The world is full of excuses, but on the background front, ive been having some RL stuff going on lately and sitting down to write has seemed rather daunting in the grand scheme of things. Rest assured I will get it done, but right now im just dealing with too much stuff to do it proper.
Making individual posts is another thing, I can manage that, so im mostly ready to go.

I've set up a Roll20.net campaign specifically for the Blue Quartz group. We'll be using it for battles and exploration, with maps and tokens. I've already set up the first map, with Telthes coming in from the south, the Milo and Kintal coming in from the north and Dawna and Leiko coming in from the west.
If you don't have a roll20.net account please set one up. Once you've got an account, go ahead and join the campaign.
I'm not doing anything fancy here. All the tokens are set to be moved by any player. Please don't move any token but your own unless you are asked to.
Please join the campaign and confirm that you can move your token. Post here that you can so I know.
Once everyone has done that we'll begin combat.

Checked in. Sorry for the delay. I am starting a new job, so my posting during the day will be more limited than in the past. Hopefully I will be able to post some, but there is no guarantees. I should be able to post every night and least one time, more if there are updates while I am checking.

Just putting up a recap:
- Dawna is in favor of taking action right this instant, despite the rain and despite it being night. Her idea is to go guard the orphanage. She has also mentioned trying to track the Greyscale Maskers down.
- Kintal wants to at least have dinner first before any action is taken.
- Milo seems to think eating a meal is a good idea. He's suggested that action is better taken in the morning (and seems concerned about staying overnight with the two ladies present).
- Telthes seems to prefer going to act in the morning instead of tonight. He wants to stay overnight in the Temple.
- Leiko has not said what her preference is (and her player hasn't posted since Monday, which worries me).
