Selena chuckles at Blienka's joke, offering her hand, then bluntly says, "Selena. We have a charter to explore for the lords of Restov, but keep getting side tracked by interesting and dangerous sites. Krazok will be along shortly he is finishing the threat above first, which the spiders are now in a natural state of chaos rather than working together to eat us. Where did the man in armor get off to, you know the 'king'."


Arvangail, same situation for you as I just told Bienka. DC 20 to climb on the stoneworked walls, now that the webs have been burned away to simply climb across to where the huge spider lays dead.

"If this doesn't work then yes," she kindly says and pats him on the head once before jumping off the edge of cliff. She travels about nine feet before she starts to drop, then a wisp of shadow appears to swallow her whole. A moment later she appears on the other edge and ties the rope to a rock outcropping.

She dodges the huge spiders legs, body and barbs and moves into the room.

Wheezing from the damn poison Calathes speaks but barely moves, he is fast on his way to complete paralysis.

The Spider Queen was a difficult enemy, unfortunately her cursed poison now runs through my veins. I can barely move at this point, I need to see a healer skilled in the treatment of poison...

A Beautiful pie would be great. But, for now I must decline until all here are safe from these strangely overgrown spiders.

With that she looks at the rope now tied across the chasm and shrugs. Without a pause, she grabs onto the rope and begins to pull herself across.

With the risk of falling, Blienka will continue to climb at speed and go down the rope to the bottom, hustle across the webbing, and then climb back up.

It helps but I still feel as weak as a newborn...


Blienka has it right now. Two ropes both vertical on either side of the chasm.

Arvangail and Blienka quickly make it down and up the ropes to get to the room with the huge spider.

As long as you take your time when passing by the giant spider there is no chance of the barbs hitting you.

For future reference when Selena shadow jaunts, she will leave behind any allies that are touching or on her.

Off to the left a large throne is surrounded by a pile of coins and chests. A skeleton resides on the throne. A glowing scepter of the same green glow as the runes and the spider's eyes is in the skeleton's hand. A line of glowing runes are on the floor that go from Calathes body to stairs across the room.

At the base of the stairs there is a large doorway and another tunnel, two other options.

Several small and medium sized spiders are standing on the ceiling and in webs above. They don't appear to be moving. Piles of stone appear to be piled at the base of the walls of the room.

I don't know why. I don't study magic...I just do it. OOO I know! I will sing the skeleton man a song.

The foot bone is connected to the shin bone. The shin bone is connected to the leg bone.. and so on. He dances as he sings.

With the spiders still not moving and the other two arriving she moves towards the throne but then stops seeing the runes glowing on the ground where ever she steps. The runes spread from her for about a foot or more.

She smiles at the group then charges towards the throne. She deftly moves up the pile of coins and grabs the scepter. She seems to stagger for a moment then she smiles again. She opens up a few chests looking for something, she finally finds it and brings back several potion vials.

If no one stops her she sits down and puts Calathes' head in her lap allowing her to easily feed the potions to him.

"Magic can be a strange thing, how can magic force you to not hurt someone, or how can it weave such a web to ensnare the spiders to its own will with the wielder long dead? Some things may never be known, but I don't like the spiders above and want to clear out the rest of the place properly. These runes seem to spread where ever Calathes or I step." She thinks out loud continuing to be Calathes pillow until he gets up.


Describe your actions, what you touch, what you want to look at, where you move, etc.

The stairs lead down to something though with only the light of the runes it is hard to see. The runes seem to give off a light that is just under a candle.

A total of four passages lead out of this room, the way most of you came in, the stairs and two other tunnel passages. Even with all the webbing above and on the walls you can see the well made craftsmanship of the walls sporadically.

Selena walks around the room investigating the room fully before going down any of the tunnels. This includes checking out the chests, throne, and pile of coins. The scepter still in one hand she twirls it around as she looks at everything in the room, rubbing it once in a while as she looks up at the frozen spiders.

GM:
She thinks about having the spiders all come to one corner down on the ground as she rubs the scepter with the hand holding it.


The runes glow and burn the webs where ever Selena steps. She touches the walls and the same happens.

If Blienka or Fizzy step on some of the runes they will follow them as well. Burning away webs and revealing well masoned stone walls.

Appraise DC 15:
This location was likely made by hill dwarves. Though the arcane runes may suggest something else.

K Arcana DC 22:
The runes are powered my mortals. They strengthen the walls and the structure as a whole. A counter balance to a destroying magic of some kind. The runes almost seem to be a living being that wants to help mortals. With enough will many things could likely happen in this location.

The spiders begin to move. Slowly at first and just to the North West corner of the room. The closest spider to the corner climbs down just as the others soon will follow.

It is wrong to control creatures and take away their will. To do so is to destroy the beauty that is contained within all creatures great and small.

They should be allowed to do as spiders do. If they are evil or destructive, then I agree that they should be destroyed before they destroy others.

It may be wiser to find a way to imprison these spiders if possible and study the effects of the scepter upon them. This device has potential, it could make aerial calvary more then a pipe dream...

Selena nods and seems to agree with what Blienka says. She has a bit of a quizzical look at Calathes suggestions but seems to understand what he is saying. She continues to look around and begins to sort the coins, gems, and items that are piled around the throne.

She pulls the skeleton off the throne and pulls off anything that is detecting as magical or glittering. She fills one chest with gems, one with equipment, and leaves the third alone since it is full of items already. Happy to do as she is asked.


The roars of the dragonkin can be heard from above, though there is lots of laughter with it. Then it seems to be coming down the North tunnel, strange as the group came from the Eastern tunnel.

The elf just stands to the side ready to act if needed but sees no threats.

The seven or so spiders are all over in the North Western corner sitting still.
