Round 1
*Spiders first
Heroes next
Anyone may choose to stop doing what they are doing and do another action.
Fizzy is still not for sure and has no way of telling which is alive and which are dead, unless it is obviously dead.
The last body is quickly brought to the top where Arvangail and Calathes are presently.
Avax climbs towards Krazok seeing medium monstrous spiders climbing towards him and the monstrousity to his right. With one move action, a climb action you move 10 feet. Would you like to do another one, in round 1? The first climb will provoke an AoO.
The spiders seeing fresh meat move quickly, these seem to be of the web spinning variety a different species than those above. The large head of the spider snaps at Avax but he is far enough away that it cannot reach him.
On Krazok
bite attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17, bite damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 plus poison
bite attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11, bite damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 plus poison
On Avax
bite attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19, bite damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 plus poison
bite attack, AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14, bite damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 plus poison
The spider attacking Avax bites his leg, its pincers leaving a nasty bite mark and blood trailing as he climbs away. The second time as Avax climbs away he dodges the attack knowing that the creature would try and where.
Two of the spiders charged up upon Krazok, before he could climb out, they attacked but his armor protected him from the bites.
Avax
Avax grunts and grits his teeth as he sees the sight of his own blood. "Damn Spiders" He thought. Perhaps he would have been better off facing the gallows.
Never-the-less, he was a fighter, and so instinctively he did his best to deliver a strong kick before continuing to scramble up the webbing.
Kick!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
crit confirm?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
wow, nice. damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
Continues to climb
Krazok Vell Firesource
Round 1
He quickly pulls himself into the lair and draws his greatsword. He hopes the spiders will come after him as opposed to Avax, he hollars at the spiders hoping to taunt them.
Round 2
He swings his sword to hopefully cleave the first spider that followed him in half.
Large +1 greatsword: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 11 - 2 = 18 damage with PA: 3d6 + 12 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3) + 12 + 6 = 28
GM Wolf
Round 1
Everyone above can hear Krazok yell urgently Avax's name.
Avax connects his foot with the head of the spider and caved it in. The spider fell below. Climb DC 17, each move action, 12 or less and you fall.
Krazok avoids the bites of the spiders as he pulls himself up, both are able to get into the opening to try and bite him again. He is able to dodge their blows with ease.
Round 2
Spiders are done, now for the heroes!
Krazok swings with abandon and slices one of the spiders messily in half.
Round 3
The spider withdraws from the dragonkin waiting for the human to come in range.
Krazok Vell Firesource
Round 3
(2/3) Large Javelins: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Krazok pulls out one of his javelins and lets it loose at the spider that retreated! He shouts to his newest human companion, "climb man and finish the vermin. I can make another javelin later."
GM Wolf
Fizzy, besides the healing Hex on each body is there anything else you are doing to them? If not you may act in Round 3 since all the hexes have been done.
Fizzy finishes his healing Hexes on all of the bodies, still none move.
Selena seems to be walking towards the mounts again, but not hers. She seems to be in a trance of some kind.
Selena the Elfen Feline
Once Fizzy has contact with her she shakes her head and lightly mumbles, "I am not sure but look."
Over by all the mounts, the Axebeak has dislodged the glowing red axe and it is has fallen on a log. Blood freely flows from the blade and it grows brighter.
Then she mumbles some more almost in the trance again, "It calls to me, it wants to feed... throw it down to Krazok."
Krazok Vell Firesource
Round 4
"Nooooooo!!!" He shouts with a vibration that courses up the vertical shaft, everyone knows something is terribly wrong. He pulls another javelin free and lets it fly at the massive spider. "Come on, come get me!" He says to the thing that just swallowed the man.
(1/3) Large Javelins: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Krazok Vell Firesource
Round 5
He pulls his last javelin from his back and takes an extra second to line up the shot, lets it fly at the massive spider. "Eat this!" He says to the monstrosity before him. This javelin strikes hard into one of the vermin's many eyes.
(0/3) Large Javelins: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 2 = 28 damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Krazok Vell Firesource
At the thought of loosing another ally and friend today goes through his mind he steps back dropping his sword ready to catch the duo. He barely gets into place leaving it more on Fizzy and the Fuzz to make appropriate jumps checks.
Dex check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
GM Wolf
Krazok's actions negates 10 feet of fall damage for the Fuzz and Fizzy.
Calathes what are the rules of climbing? Are you accelerating climbing? If so that allows you to move at half speed, so if you move at 20 feet per move action you could make it down with 4 checks, the DC being 10. Also you could attempt to jump the last ten feet hoping to negate the damage with an acrobatics check DC 15.
Krazok Vell Firesource
"Thank you Fizzy, either of you have some range to take out that monstrosity?" He takes the axe in his claw like hands after putting the two on the ground.
Calathes the Crimson
Calathes forces himself up with impressive strength, not even the weight of his armor stops him...
Unsheathing his greatsword Calathes moves in towards the spider, his silhouette set against the wall via the kindling flames set in the tunnels...
still under the effects of the Zweihander style, 2+ ac and 1d6+ damage
Krazok Vell Firesource
"Unless you have a plan I think it is time to send for our archer. Anax just got swallowed by that thing." He speaks to Calathes hoping for some strategy before jumping to be swallowed.
He quickly tries to alert the elf to the situation, yelling up to Arvangail, "Arvangail, see what you can do about getting down here safely, take your time."
Selena the Elfen Feline
Off of the yelling come from below she walks over to Arvangail. In her normal seductive voice she quietly says to him, "I can hold it for you, I won't let you down." She lifts one eyebrow hoping he gets the innuendo.
Calathes the Crimson
Calathes calmly proceeds to the lip of the drop and takes a good, long look at the monstrous spider... His eyes focus on anything "interesting" (features of the environment that could be exploited)
perception1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
The half elf gazes over the lip of the 40 feet tall pit, he is focused and unnervingly calm...
Krazok Vell Firesource
"Climbing out there and swinging at it while still on the wall does not sound very fun or safe. Thank you, we can see it better now." The scaly friend says with lack of enthusiasm.
Calathes the Crimson
Calathes sees the webbed walls and calmly retreats back a few feet from the lip and takes out torches from his pack... He will set them alight.
Grab a torch and wait for the spider to make it between the webbed walls... With all that hair (I am envisioning that it is something like a tarantula)I am willing to bet that our eight legged friend is quite flammable.
Once our "friend" is between the flaming walls we will descend via rope and finish the monstrosity with fire and steel...
Krazok Vell Firesource
"Go for it little friend." He says wondering how much the flames will burn. He takes a few steps back.
GM Wolf
Sorry I must have not been understood. You can edit or even delete the post above. :)
Normally I do provide maps, though I thought this encounter it would be unnecessary, I was proven wrong.
There is a hole directly across from Krazok, Calathes, and Fizzy about 50 feet away, the slathering head of a massive spider is in that hole and trying its best to make the hole bigger to get at your group.
Down below and between the two groups is a pit, which has webbing running along it though no threats can be seen.
Map is updated, look for the link under my name labeled: Kingmaker Gestalt.
Calathes the Crimson
Provide maps gm. they don't have to be fancy (little white lines that represent holes, corridors etc will do).
Forget what I said in the previous post guys, redoing it.
My companions, since the dawn of warfare one combination has remained tried and true: Blood, Fire and Steel. Let us put these weapons of old to the test of the Throne, grab a torch and set our foe on fire and finish this monstrosity with Steel.
Arvangail Wintry
Once arvangail has finished lifting up the rope with the cocoon attach to it he will make all haste to help Fizzy and Krazok by jumping down the hole.
As he lands safely on his feet with no harm done bow in hand he gets ready to defend the life of the company in true elven fashion.
