Kingmaker AP

Game Master Aldarionn

This is an online campaign for the Kingmaker adventure path.

Two experienced players looking for an experienced GM and two additional players of any experience level for the Kingmaker Adventure Path. Here are the details:

GM: We would like a GM with some experience. We are both experienced players and GM's. We feel a strong knowledge of at least the core rules is a must, but you don't need to have been GMing since AD&D to fit in to our group. As the GM, your word will of course be taken as law. You have license to run the game as you see fit (within reason of fairness, of course). Your rulings will be respected, and if you have any specific requirements for character generation they will be followed without question. We will provide a copy of the adventure path documents for use by the GM if you do not have them.

Players 1 and 2: Myself and a close friend will be two of the players. Check out the profile for this alias for details on the character I intend to run in this campaign. I will have my friend post from his Alias as a reply to this post and put up a link to his alias in the main post once he finishes making it. Please note that our stats, chosen feats/abilities and gear can change as necessary/appropriate per GM discretion. We both have some experience with this adventure path, but please be aware that we are well versed in the difference between player knowledge and character knowledge.

Additional players: We would like two or three additional players to join us for this group. You may be of any experience level as long as you have a basic understanding of the rules and how combat and roleplay work. You MUST be willing to abide by GM rulings. You MUST be punctual and willing to commit to finishing this Adventure, and you MUST be willing to roleplay and have fun. Fun is the name of the game!

Time/Place: We are willing to use any online tabletop gaming software the GM prefers. We have some experience with the Roll20 software, and we also have access to a Mumble server for reliable voice communication. The day/time can be flexible, but the best availability for us is Tuesday/Wednesday from 8:30PM-Midnight Pacific Time, Friday from 7:30PM Pacific until whenever, and Saturday from 6:00PM Pacific until whenever. We can run weekly or bi-weekly as necessary on any of these days/times.

Anyone interested please reply to this post. If you have an alias created for the character you would like to run please post from that alias so we can take a look at your character. If you do not have a character concept yet that is perfectly fine! We can work on party dynamic and character development once we have a group together. If you feel strongly about filling a particular party role, please include that in your post. I will reply with PM's to anyone that expresses an interest in joining this game.

Sold! I'll GM this, if you would like. Friday's time works best for me. I have experience playing and GMing since 3.5e, and I've run a couple adventures online over Roll20 already and am very familiar with the tools and resources that it offers. I'm also well-versed in Pathfinder's ruleset across the books.

I don't think you'll need to change much if I GM this, since I'm open to the use of any Paizo books and prefer a 20-point buy. Your alias is put together very well and is easy to read, so that helps a lot.

I'd love to play. My schedule is flexible and I'm familiar with both Roll20 and Maptools. If possible I'd like to play a Cavalier but I'm good with playing something else if needed.

Sounds great guys, thanks for your replies! That makes a GM and 3 players. One more and we will be set to begin. We can hammer out a final time and day but Fridays work for me just fine.

I'll send you guys PMS with my personal contact info when I get home and we can get things rolling.

Damn, wish I had jumped on this faster. I have a friend who probably would have been happy to join in as we usually roleplay as a tag team IRL anyway and Kingmaker would be perfect for a pair of characters we have been wanting to run for a long time. If you are interested in taking in two more guys instead of just one I can give him a holler.

Two more is OK by me. I think having an extra would be a good idea anyway in case someone misses a session or we lose someone along the way. I'm sending PM's to everyone now!

I'd rather keep it to 4 players due to time constraints and the logistics of getting everyone online each week. I've found that with any more than 4 players in an online campaign, sessions tend to draw out or get flat out postponed weeks in a row because people can't make it.

I'll be putting together a google doc of my specifics so that you can make characters and adjust accordingly, though it's a fairly standard and free criteria.

If that's what the DM wants I can't argue. My friend and I are in if we get the chance.

OK, then we will have to roll with 4. I will talk to everyone tomorrow and we can sort out who will be playing with us. Thank you for your interest everyone!

Here is a link to the reference document for this campaign. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Hello all. I'm the 2nd player Ari mentioned. Was going to post with an alias however when working on a build yesterday I ended up working on a couple of different ideas. I have the basis for a hunter, 2 paladins, a kineticist, duelist, slayer, and magus. Not sure what the others besides Ari is planning on running so don't know which class would work well with the others we would be having.

Also Pahlok, I read you reference and wanted to ask one question because I didn't see anything regarding it. Are you ok with the leadership feat? I only ask because one of the paladin builds goes into the sentinel prestige class and they get it automatically as a bonus feat in their progression.

Yes, the Leadership feat is fine for this campaign. Keep in mind, though, that you won't be custom-building your Cohort. You'll either take on one of the scenario NPCs as your cohort, or I will create and assign one that fits. All Cohorts will be built with the Heroic NPC stat array, and all additional followers will be built with the Basic NPC stat array and be limited to NPC classes only.

Thanks for the quick response. Usually in the APs I've played cohorts have been pulled from existing NPCs so I have no problem with that.

Pahlok, I went ahead and made an Alias specific to this campaign setting and updated the info. Take a look and see if there is anything you don't approve of.

My campaign trait is Pioneer which makes sense for my character's motivations, but it did not specify what kind of horse I begin play with. Since I'm a small creature I chose a pony instead of a light or heavy horse, and since the gold price was less than either I made it a combat trained pony. If this needs to change let me know.

If you have any questions ask away!

You can have a pony instead, but not combat trained. It's not a matter of price so much as the function of the trait.

If you could make a discussion thread attached to this recruitment, we should move our discussion there so as not to continue bumping this thread.

OK, I'll change it. Thanks for the ruling.

ATTENTION! It looks like we still need players for this campaign. I'm going to leave recruitment open and request that anyone interested please continue to post. If you have a character, post a link to the alias or a short description of the build.

I will select 2 players from those that post and once I have confirmed everyone I will close recruitment. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Liberty's Edge

Dotting. I have a couple of ideas character wise... EDIT: I am a little confused... Is this to be a PbP, or what?

No, it won't be a PbP, we will be using Roll20 and skype for this game, meeting every Friday at 7:30PM Pacific Time. Sorry, I should have been a bit more clear about that.

We're still in need of one more player!

Hey guys, I'm interested in joining up. I can make the Friday time no problem.

Am I reading right that the build rules here are 20-point buy, core races, 3 traits (1 campaign)?

Also, do you guys have a strong feeling as to what you need in a fourth party member? It doesn't look like you have a skill monkey, but OTOH I don't know how often that really comes up in a campaign built around taming a wilderness area. I'm kind of leaning towards something in the witch/shaman/skald/bard area. I have this urge to play a guy with a rocking beard. The witch and the shaman offer prehensile hair, while the skald and bard would be more metal.

I'd also be cool with going Oradin if you all wanted another front liner and healer. My role model for high STR, high CHA, and low INT role playing is Zapp Brannigan, just to give you a heads up.

I may just be speaking for myself but I think we would love a Skald or Bard. Either would work quite well with what we currently have though the shaman or witch would be fine too. I would send Arizani a PM in case he doesn't see your post.

Sounds great Lothar! The Skald or Bard idea would fit right in with the campaign, but any of your ideas would be welcome. Make an alias with a stat block for what you would like to play and post in the discussion thread. I'll send you a PM and make sure you get an invite link to the campaign on Roll20.

You might also send a PM over to our GM Pahlok.
