Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
To do. She looks at him, It's this living thing. When you hit, it wants to tear. To see the crimson flow of blood. She shakes her head, My brother never heard it the way I did... The way I still... It's not... She stops.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
Knowing that he doesn't have the words to comfort her, Alaric silently holds her close. His embrace is soft and sure, but more than anything, accepting.

Tollin Elere wrote:
Looking embarrassed Tollin motions towards Attatoq, A bad experience, no its just that well.....HE'S A WOLF. They're like wild animals...they are crazy dangerous and stuff. You know, WOLF LIKE. Realizing he may have just insulted Kalimac and 'Gulp' Attatoq, Tollin begins stumbling over his words in an attempt to make ammends, Of course, I ummmmm I'm not speaking of Attatoq....nononoNO. I'm certain that he's, uhhhhhhhhh, very well trained...probably even house broken. Yes good wolf. 'gulp' Finally realizing he is just making things far worse he sighs, his head and shoulders slump in defeat. To be honest I'm not really comfortable in the wilds. I spent time as part of a caravan when I was very young but it was always on well traveled routs. We never went anywhere like this. And that was a long time ago. I've spent most of my life in one large city or another. He looks up at the halfling with a somewhat desperate pleading expression, I understand cities, I know how things work. Out here he waves and arm wide indicating the wilderness around the camp, I don't even know which leaves are safe to wipe with. I'm sorry about my reaction to Attatoq. Its just that everything I know or think I know about wolves tells me to fear him. I'm sure he's a fine mount and companion. Again I'm sorry for giving offense. After Tollin gets all this off his chest he does appear as if a weight has been lifted off him. Thinking back over the past few days Kalimac may realize that Tollin has never really left the caravan except for very brief periods of time.

Enjoying Tollin's flailing attempts at explanation in spite of himself, Kalimac grins widely. After Tollin finishes, Kalimac quietly appraises him for a moment or two.

"Well, Attatoq is 'crazy dangerous and stuff.' He's got big pointy teeth! Yes, he's dangerous. But so is Rhost, here. And Hrunndalf, when he's not too sick to move. And so am I."

Kalimac pauses to scratch between Attatoq's ears. "If you run into some random wolf in the woods, then what you know about wolves will undoubtedly keep you safe. And Attatoq is not one to take offense at someone giving him the respect and fear he feels he deserves. But I like my companions to feel at ease. So if I can allay your fears about this specific wolf, let me know what I can do."

"Besides, you're not the only one who keeps a safe distance from him. Melinda still makes sure that either I or Lio is standing between her and Attatoq when we're standing around. I do what I can to help people get to know him. But maybe it just takes time, and I can't rush it." Kalimac shrugs, then turns to grimace at Rhost's whistling.

Day 13 - Outside the women's wagon

Rhost laughs. "Not that old. I just ... focus."

He turns to look at Myriana. "And you?"

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Mel smiles at Alaric, It's a beast that I learned to cage long ago. She can't help the thought in her eyes, "But it's you who it will maul now, because you're the closest."

She settles back into him, We were supposed to be talking about you. The miff in her voice complete sham. One more question, and then you should get back to a warm fire. The "so you don't get sick again" remains unsaid. Did you learn to heal before or after?

That's not fear, pipes in Mel, It's common sense. She points at Attatoq, Canine. Points at her bag, Feline.

Alaric can't hide the regret: "After."

"Si.." Myriana starts to answer, then gets a defiant look on her face, "Hey, that's not fair!...I'm not that young I'll have you know. Hmmmph" Her jaw juts out a bit and her head tilts up, focusing forward as she saunters forward before breaking down with a little shake of her head and a rueful smile. "Okay,...fine!... don't answer then. How about this one. Where have you wandered through?"

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

"Attatoq doesn't mind Xander. Xander's quiet and out of the way. And kind of cute, in a feline sort of way. It's not our fault that Xander has a superiority complex!" Kalimac smiles at Mel good-naturedly.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Mel kisses him briefly, rises and stretches in the cold dark. Given her normal modesty about her body, she is remarkable comfortable in her skin. She looks at him, Teach you to use longer, non-Rhost like sentences.

Rhost changes his (lack of) tune. It doesn't really help.

Mel smiles back at Kalimac. Nope not your fault at all. And when he decides he want to acknowledge your presence... I'm sure you'll wish he hadn't.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
Alaric watches the lovely girl stretch in the moonlight. "I can think of a few longer sentences. They're mostly requests."

Male Human Cleric 10

Alaric watches the interplay between the party, grinning as soon as the cat vs. wolf debate starts.

Male Half-elf Barbarian

Day 13 - Outside the women's wagon

"Hmm," Rhost ponders. "Varisia mostly. No signs."

He smiles at Myriana, and considers which topic to broach next. "Where have you wandered?"

Human Ranger

afternoon of Day 13

The exploration party is getting ready to leave. Myriana has her traveling gear together. She walks directly up to her sister and stands straight and tall (at least as tall as she can) in front of her. "I'm sorry I lied sister."

Shalelu & anyone who may have been around her before the exploration party leaves with a Sense Motive DC 6:

Shalelu's die for sense motive:1d20 ⇒ 9
bluff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 +1 optional

Myri wants to take her sister in her arms and hug her fiercly, but she knows if she does she will start crying again, and that is the last thing she wants to have happen in front of the others and especially in front of Lio. (she is referring to not spending time with her sister this afternoon.)

"I must go. Please keep the others safe."

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Hmmm-uh. She snags underclothing from the where it had ended up. Looks at him, You should try out some of those longer sentences, never know when they might be granted... but if no one hears them. Shrugs. Smiles.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
A grin spreads over Alaric's face as he puts his hands behind his head. He never takes his eyes off Mel. "That is very good to know. I'll have to make a list."

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Finally, a victory for him, she darkens to what is probably jade, Are you going to stare at me the entire time I'm getting dressed? Underwear, a green frog on each hip.

"Apparently not as far as you. I guess it's kinda a small area, actually. Mostly Fort Rannick on Hook Mountain to Turtleback Ferry at Claybottom Lake. Spent a bunch of time in the Shimmerglens, especially Whitewillow, been through parts of the Ashwood, Kreegwood

Sense Motive DC 14:

bluff:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
She seems to fear the name more than the place

(shudders slightly when she says the name) and Sanos Forest. Wyvern and Iron Mountains, Skull's Crossing...Storval Deep. Other than that...I guess I'm not sure, followed my sister around a bunch. Don't really know where. She pauses..."I'm sure there were signs, I just didn't bother remembering them. She smiles at him again, makes sure she's not going to get run over as she stops and the wagon's continue, "Umm...Rhost, I would really like to continue this conversation, but I think I can get the project I'm working on done today. Can we talk again...soon?." She pauses again. "...or you could watch if you're quiet...and really, really patient. Don't want to wake them." She tosses her head (do I really have to say 'not literally'? Why yes, for some reason I feel that I do!) in the direction of the wagon, her hair following suit.

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

Kalimac continues his friendly smile at Mel, adding a Cats--what're you gonna do? flavored shrug to the mix.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
The grin gets wider as his eyes sparkle: "Oh yes. As often as I can."

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Starts to wind the wrappings about her torso, something that will be occupying her hand for a bit of time. I don't know, it doesn't seem to be tempting you nearly enough. With a naughty grin and look at him.

Myriana Bayden wrote:
"...or you could watch if you're quiet...and really, really patient. Don't want to wake them."

Rhost nods. "Will be quiet."

Myriana:

Sense Motive roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Rhost doesn't react to either the name or Myriana's slight shudder.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
Alaric nods to the very real, very physical reaction the mere sight of Melinda is having on him. "You're always going on about control. Here I am trying some."

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Deeper green. Point withdrawn. Flustered, Mel starts to run a hand through her hair, winces she encounters the mass of tangles, dirt, and leafs. Spends a number of futile minutes trying to fix the problem. Finally, she gives up and cheats. Long, black hair suddenly free of tangles and debris, she braids it. The end of the braid still falls far past her waist.

Myri flashes Rhost a happy smile as she clambers back into her work space, taking care not to wake the sleepers within. She makes sure he has as comfortable a space to sit as possible considering his larger frame. She also shows him (with a little bit of pride) the sculpture she is working on.

Rhost:
an intricately carved "flying" Desnian style butterfly atop a pedestal carved to look like a tree stump with a piece of bark rising up to the butterfly (Myri rolled a natural 20 on her craft check and it has a 10gp value.) She whispers too him that she is making it to help protect Koya, Ameiko and the caravan...and she seems to believe that it is possible it may help...somehow.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
With Mel dressed, Alaric sighs and gets about putting his clothes back on.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
The pants should be the next step, but instead Mel walks over to the just standing man and kisses him for a moment before looking for her pants. Which are over there... The pants quickly follow the other clothes, her back to Alaric.

Male Half-elf Barbarian

Day 13 - back inside the wagon

Myriana:

Rhost seems impressed by the sculpture, but doesn't say anything. He sits quietly and watches. The sculpture, the sculptress, the sculpting.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
A shot across my bow.
Alaric wraps his arms around Mel's waist, dipping his head to her neck. "Of course, control is overrated," he mutters.

Male Human Gunslinger / 3

Well, I'll keep in mind that Attatoq is not like other wolves and a loyal companion, and will most likely not try and eat my face the first chance he gets. Looking around at the others that have gathered Tollin askes, Does anyone know how we are going to go about dealing with this whole Brinewall place? I don't have much experience with this kind of adventuring thing.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Warning shot?
A low purr in her chest at his touch, then she pulls her upper body away just enough that she can twist to see his face, List finished already?

Mel smiles impishly at the newcomer, From what I've been told. We go in. Danger abounds. Things try to kill us. If we are smart, fast and damn lucky we will survive. Shrugs. Simple really. Hopefully, we will get a chance to talk to something that cares enough about living instead.

Alaric nods. "And then I try to patch you back together. Try to hold onto any body parts that come off. Easier that way."

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
Well, you said you had mercy on me the other night. The kid gloves appear to be off.
He kisses her, somewhat awkwardly, since the arm wrapping around her waist appears to be meant to keep her from turning around. "I suppose it is. My first request would be a closer look at your birthmark."

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Ahh... Here I thought I was just being cute tonight.
She looks confused. That's all? Easy. Her fingers pause at the laces at both sides of her body, then loosen them enough so that her pants sit low on her hips. Low enough that the small birthmark is fully visible. Funny story about that. Apparently Mom got really worried when she first saw it. Something about wizards rising from the dead and lost souls. She shrugs, unconcerned about a parent's very old fears.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:
Aggressively, terrifyingly cute, yes.
He brushes the braid over one shoulder to kiss the back of her neck. "I was thinking of a slightly closer look," he murmurs, gently dropping her pants to the ground.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Hmmm... evil.
Her back instinctively straightens at the feel of his lips on small sensitive pressure point at the top of the spine. However, she sounds even more confused when she speaks again. I think I missed something... Voice turning slightly breathless.

Male Human Cleric 10

Mel:

Last post before bedtime.
He chuckles, breath tickling her ear. "It's all right. Just trust me." Then, soft, insistent pressure in the middle of her back, his other arm still looped around her waist.

"And make sure that if you notice something odd, like someone's tattoos moving on their own, let the rest of us know," Kalimac says, absolutely not referring to anyone in particular. He makes sure to not be looking at Alaric when he says this.

"Hey, Rhost. What is that tune you're whistling?"

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Which means with the hard reset... I get the last post again? I do have the advantage of being three time zones later than you.
Do trust you, her breathing verging on losing control. Her body close with his; soft, yielding, female.

Lio seeks out Shalelu right before she’s ready to leave. She’s carrying her backpack, bow, arrows, and sword. There’s something in her hand. She looks a little troubled, like there’s a lot on her mind. But with the current situation, it’s probably easy to assign blame to Ameiko’s illness and the impending Brinewall excursion, as to the reason for her disposition. Lio looks up at the taller Shalelu, her face carefully neutral. She hands her an apple.

with a Sense motive DC 11: Lio is worried something could happen to Shalelu, and Lio wouldn’t be able to help because she wouldn’t know until she returned to the caravan, and something could happen to Myri, and she would then have to explain to Shalelu what happened…

You seemed a bit distant and I didn't want to make you uncomfortable. Is it because I'm a bounty hunter, is that what is making you wary about me? You do understand that I only take bounties on people who are wanted for violent crimes?

Lio does not seem to take Tollin's jest, if that is indeed what it is, as amusing. She crosses her arms in front of her, her eyes narrow dangerously. Clearly her sense of humor is lacking. She says, deadpan, Ah thought ye dinna eintroduce yerself kaus' ah woz play'n wit 'e big scarey wulf. Her large blue eyes study him. No bounty on maie 'ead. Wuz freead buye Haldm'r Grobaras."
