Giving this some thought, Ive decided to snatch up a solitary level of Ranger. With the background im going for, I think it makes sense, and is worth the delay on monk levels.
Just to touch on some of the points arisen, there are a few thousand survivors but you won't have to accomodate them all, Silas will be distributing them across the 3 teams for maximum survival likelyhood.

roughly 1600 and a fair amount of half elves too, Silas managed to get about 12,000 people into his stronghold before the end.
And the beast isn't overstuffed after eating tens of millions of people?
That isn't many survivors at all :(

Man, seems all my GMs who leave their games with a notice are go-getters. Usually its too much work getting in the way. Im still up for it though, I usually give "dead" games a good month before I stop checking them.

I find myself apologizing on here far too often lately. It seems my previous exhaustion had less to do with overwork than I though. I seem to have suffered several arrhythmia and was being slow to recover in part because I believed it was only exhaustion. I've been in the hospital and have now been released. This has necessitated some lifestyle changes which should hopefully let me keep posting here and not suffer any more. I hope I can make the lost time up to you!
Must admit I was starting to wonder. Good thing you got it taken care of though, and welcome back. No need to make up any time though, just keep going at the usual pace.
I got back last night and currently at work (with a mountain of things to do) but we are resuming gaming (will be slow until monday as i have lots of IRL/PhB games do catch up etc :)
