I feel this fits for some of you... picture

We have a pretty big party. The Adventure Paths are typically written for 4 characters, and we have double that. Not that I want to be on the brink of death at level 1, but both of our fights thus far have been over insanely quickly, so we might want to consider scaling the encounters, either by adding more enemies or giving them an Elite template or something, as appropriate.

Oh the big issue is we've had two crits each fight. It will get harder. This is the standard level 1 fights so you don't die. Level 2 is coming and then it will get harder!

told you things would heat up! Fight lasted a whole round!
| Karen Langway |
Yeah, that's new. Did my needle darts do anything? Didn't see it mentioned in your post.

Gog - It looks like Disrupt Shadows has the Concentrate trait. I think you began raging at the start of combat, which means you can't do concentrate actions. If you have the Moment of Clarity feat, it would take up one of your three actions to give you the ability to do concentrate actions.

Fair. I figured rage stopped during the midfight break.

Oh, I forgot about the break. Yeah, if there were no enemies, then yeah. My bad.

Whoops, instead of Perception it should be Arcana I rolled.

I've been waiting months since I made this character to make a "I want to speak to your manager" post.

Just want to confirm, because I'm not sure of the descriptions: The sky status is currently hazy, but there is still sunlight? Just curious for the purposes of my photosynthesis situation. Thanks!

yep! Its kind of like dusk. It will work for you, but its rought out there.

So funny story. This was supposed to be a weakened boar fight. Kind of funny, I didn't make them weak.
Given the number of crits that we got, it was pretty easy. I plan to keep running it this way. Objections?

Sure, I'm happy to keep difficulty up. Do the rest of us see the creatures?
Maybe I misunderstood the GM's question, but I think he was asking if it's OK to keep the difficulty at the lower level as written in the adventure. It sounds like you're saying you'd be okay with increasing the difficulty of encounters.

Thaumascourge is correct. I've left it a bit harder, but its not hurting you all. I can go back to the lower difficulty, but that is your call.

Checking in. Want to camp for the night? We can camp and pick up Monday rested.

Want to confirm for the level up that we are using the Free Archetype rules.
| Karen Langway |
Ill let all those (free archetype, ancestral paragon, gradual ability boost) happen. can't hurt. we will see if a problem has occurred later!
We should be good to assume all of the above.

nice! Just checking in. Post when you all can. Now to fight batdogs!
| Karen Langway |
I'm good, I was just waiting because your enemies beat me in initiative. Has everyone on your end leveled up yet?
fine_young_misanthrope

Right now its batdogs! There are four of the, so go get them!

Checking in! Hope all is well. Post when you can.
| Karen Langway |
Yup, just very disgusting. So glad I'm not a melee martial.
| Karen Langway |
Gog, I wouldn't bother with the Hero Point if I were you. The damage wouldn't take you down and you can easily retch out the Sickness after combat. It only takes a single action each.
| Karen Langway |
Going to be travelling for a day, not going to be able to post. Feel free to bot Karen to keep things moving.

I'm gonna yell at Gog on the phone and get him to post today. Don't worry!

Hello everyone,
There has been a death in my family. I will be away from the keyboard for a week to mourn. Feel free to bot my PC during this time.
Not so cheerily,

I know that our GM is pretty free-form with the implementation of the block initiative and order of how things unfold, but I am having a hard time following what is happening. Can we maybe begin posting what round our actions are for?
As it is, we are mowing down the enemies, so the order doesn't matter all that much ... but eventually we're going to be up against bad guys where the order of what timing, positioning, spent reactions, and statuses will become more important. As we progress and our abilities (and the abilities of the bad guys) become more complex, it'll be important that we're as clear as possible about what is happening and when it happens, so it'll be easier for us to get in the habit of it now.
To use an example of where I'm getting confused, it looks like Beorn has posted 4 rounds worth of actions, but we've just reached the conclusion of Round 2 of this fight. Similarly, Randall posted that he moved up to provide flanking, but that appears to be his third set of actions ... which means the that Gog's Round 2 action wouldn't benefit from the flanking (which, BTW, isn't showing on the map for some reason).

I like this. I'm pretty lenient because I know time is a factor, and this is a hobby. But, helping people see the when will be solid.

GM: Not following from the description, but am I correct that the lights were working within this room? So is there some sort of power source here for them?
Also, wasn't this room supposed to be the "control room" that lead into those vats that had the person who appeared to be in stasis or whatever? It looks like there are no controls in this room, just plants.
fine_young_misanthrope
|
Sorry, Ill clerify. The control panels are in the oval room outside the garden. The garden is the smaller side room where those batman were that you just killed. Thats also where the moon flowers were. The garden has wires in the walls that went "somewhere" that you disconnected. Think of these more like light bulbs. Those bulbs will work well with that Azlanti thing back at the base, but not power, no light.
That control room needs something "key" to unlock the thing in the vats.
fine_young_misanthrope
|
You are not sure what that key is, but its got to be somewhere?
