Caine lunges at the bloodied void caller, hoping to finish it.

Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

The sharn's babbling pauses for a second as the void caller fizzes and vanishes under the assault.

Recharge: Leaping Plaguefire: 1d6 ⇒ 6. Recharges.

More internal consultation follows and the sharns tentacles extrude through the hex portals it has created, sending violent flashes of blue flame among the company.

Leaping Plaguefire (Fort v primary target, Ref v two secondary targets who are within 5 squares of the primary target. On hit secondary targets are dazed (se).

As the flames leap at Hobbes, he throws his arm up and suddenly his body is covered with glowing, magical scales. The flames miss him completely. "Shield of the Dragon" Hobbes says with a smile, as the scales drift into the ether.

I don't feel like being dazed. Sudden Scales grants a +6 to all defenses. :) If I hadn't, I still would have only taken 5 damage because of my dragon soul resistance. But I still would have been dazed. No thanks. :)

Female - mostly. Changeling Assassin 8

Stepping back into the shadows, Ceara appears next to the Sharn, once more attacking the creature.

Shadowstep to K7, place Shroud 2 on the Sharn, Inescapable Blade. 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 vs AC, on hit 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Female - mostly. Changeling Assassin 8

Sweet, Crit! Damage becomes 2d8 + 13 ⇒ (7, 3) + 13 = 23

The sharn can do nothing to stop the unexpected attack from Ceara as the assassin leaps unerringly towards the main quarry.

Small consultation follows, as the void caller obeys and moves to help make an easy kill.

Attack: 1d20+12=25 v Ceara. Hits (taken -2 for Kelgan's mark into account - balanced by +2 flanking)

Both, I think.

Kelgan steps forward and slashes through the drone attacking Caine.

Shift to G10 and using Reaping Strike on D4, getting flanking from Brujo(4 damage on a miss): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 301d12 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

He can OA using the hex portals with reach 2 - i.e. basic melee against anyone moving (as opposed to shifting or teleporting) away. Just like any other OA, but sneakier and with longer reach.

EDIT He's always had threatening reach 2 around himself, I just misread the powers regarding the hex portals. Essentially, being within 2 squares of either the sharn of a hex portal is putting yourself in range of an OA.

Kelgan continues his crusade to remove the drones, using Brujo to help him wipe out one more of the pests.

so stay away from moving around hex portals AND the Sharn itself. got it.

Hobbes, seeing Ceara being flanked by monsters, moves up to engage. "Guys," he calls to his other companions. "The girl is in trouble. We must save her!"

move to J13, use Dragonfrost on V3, +10 vs Fort, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18, damage 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 and V3 is pushed to J6

Hobbes again chants in Draconic and as he does, his breath becomes visible as if the temperature around him just dropped to freezing. His hands moved in unison, one wielding his dagger in some mystical passage and the other making hand signs. Then in a matter of seconds, he points the dagger at the Void Caller and releases his spell. The cold blast leaps at the taint like a howling wind. "I only hope I aimed correctly" Hobbes thinks to himself.

Picking his way carefully around the danger zones, Hobbes tries to distract the last void caller from its pursuit of Ceara. Chill power erupts from his blade, but the insubstantial alien is tough enough to withstand the attack.

"Off of her now," says Erik to the remaining Void Caller. "Come play with us."

Erik then attempt to lure the Void Caller over through the power of his song, the tone of which changes as he uses it to heal the nearby assassin.

Standard Action: Cutting Words on V3; 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 vs. WILL for 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 psychic damage and on a hit, V3 is pulled to H9.
Minor Action: Majestic Word on Ceara; Ceara gains a surge plus 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 hit points and 4 temporary hit points. Ceara may also slide one square anywhere she wants (I assume away from the Sharn)

Female - mostly. Changeling Assassin 8

Thanks for the heal. No slide, though, I stay where I am.

Erik's attack has no effect on the void caller, its alien consciousness sliding out of his grasp.

Smiling slightly as some of her wounds heal, Ceara holds steady in the face of tentacled doom.

Aware of the danger posed by the hex portals, Brujo shifts easily towards the drone and strikes hard. Although the blow hits, the drone manages to pull apart its substance long enough for the blade to pass through it harmlessly.

Kel's dazzling attack sends thoroughly disrupts the void caller, instantly bloodying it. Even as the arrows leave his bow, retribution comes from the sharn, as a savage tentacle smacks through the hex portal, trying to put deflect the attack on its servitor. Kel is too quick and deftly avoids the blow.

Nailed on as usual. I forgot about the Sudden Scales (which is a great image by the way - the shield suddenly apprearing around Hobbes). Caine's damage is reduced by 9 then and he's in better shape than he was.

Ceara winks at the Sharn. "I'll be right back, don't go anywhere." Then she ones move merges into shadow, and, this time stays shadowy when she appears next to Perigia.

Kel - +3 temp hp from Erik
Caine - dazed (se); slowed to end next turn
Sharn - marked by Kelgan
Ceara
Void caller 3 - marked by Kelgan; Kel's Quarry

Male Half-Orc Fighter 8

Bloodied again, Regen 4 again.

Kelgan steps up to the sharn and once again cuts deep into it's form.

Shift to N7 and using Reaping Strike(4 damage on a miss), also using Furious Assault if it hits: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 162d12 + 6 ⇒ (5, 12) + 6 = 23

1d20 ⇒ 4

Kelgan concentrates on whittling away at the sharn, brusquely brushing blood out of his eyes and ignoring his wounds.

Missed, but took 4hp damage anyway.

Male Human Sorcerer 9

Hobbes holds his side from the Caller's attack. "Fine. You want to get up close and personal, take this!" He shifts his hold on his dagger and chants some Draconic. His breath grows cold again and his blade glows a blue-white. Then he slashes with the dagger.

Dragonfrost (using Sorcerous Blade) on V3 (+10 vs Fort, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29, damage1d10 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16 cold, and V3 is pushed to H13)

The cold erupts from his blade into the Void Caller and pushes the taint away from him.

Hobbes's blade slashes almost faster than the eye can see and the void caller is forced to retreat under the chill blow.

Male Human Bard/Warlord/Warlock/Circus Monkey/Soda Jerk/Etc

Ugh, sorry. Home for the first time all day.

Erik sings a hymn praising the dawn's light and is rewarded with a gift of luminescence which he channels down the length of his blade and launches at the remaining Void Caller.

Standard Action: Song of the New Dawn on Sharn; 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 vs. REFLEX for 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (1, 2) + 5 = 8 radiant damage and on a hit, Brujo can make two savings throws against his daze and take the best result.

Sound and light combine to break through the void caller's defenses, further debilitating the strange entity. At the other end of the chapel, the sharn starts to flicker slightly and the voices contained within it babble with concern.

BRUJO - make two immediate saves v daze and use the better of the two results
