Init tracker: Round 2 (+1 atk/dam from Janira)

Fiddle: GO
Starling: GO
Rangor: GO
Landrel: GO
Phred: GO (trying to be engulfed, DC 10 refelx or an AOO. If AOO, no save)
Me: (26 damage)

The wiggly ooze, wobbles as the Pathfinder hopefuls, launch an assault on it. A couple of arrows, pierce it, then Phred takes a big chunk out of it. It retaliates against Phred, by trying to engulf it.

Engulf (Ex) Although it moves slowly, a XXXcan simply engulf medium or smaller creatures in its path as a standard action. It cannot make a slam attack during a round in which it engulfs. The XXX merely has to move over the opponents, affecting as many as it can cover. Opponents can make attacks of opportunity against the XXX , but if they do so they are not entitled to a saving throw. Those who do not attempt attacks of opportunity can attempt a DC 10 Reflex save to avoid being engulfed—on a success, they are pushed back or aside (opponent's choice) as the XXX moves forward. Engulfed creatures are subject to the XXX paralysis and acid, gain the pinned condition, are in danger of suffocating, and are trapped within its body until they are no longer pinned. The save DC is Strength-based.

Assuming it surely couldn't withstand much more damage before dissolving, Landrel moves around the north tunnel to get a better shot at the jelly-like square.

Longbow + IC - Melee: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 18

If he can't pass normally through the north tunnel, he'll just shoot from his previous spot two spaces behind Ragnor's current position and take the cover penalty.

Landrel and Starling, both lets arrows fly. Both connect and take apart the ooze. Then Phred, who nimbly steps to the side of the enemy who tries to simply "absorb" him into its body, lands a crushing blow. It dissolves into a puddle of goo.

Combat Over

The group hustles on, and rushes towards the sound of Janira's voice in hopes that they are not to late.

The light of the surface world above provides a welcome reprieve from the blue and green fungus of the caverns below, and light illuminates a stream whose water is hastened by runoff from a recent storm further up the mountains. A ledge to the west rises up to the nearby forest canopy.

You all hear her shout, You vile beast! I know not what drives your black heart, but I shall not fail in my duty. I shall see you driven from this forest, back to the hills from whence you came!

The minotaur, snorts and raises his axe high in the air, and brings it down towards Janira. It slams into the jovial halfling. She stays on her feet though.

axe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 = 11

She takes a step back, and tries to disarm the large bovine of its terrible weapon. She wraps her whip around the handle, but as she goes to rip it from the grasp, the whip unfurls and stays firmly in the large enemy's grasp.

The dark green areas are difficult terrain. When you get to the log, it is a DC acrobatics check to cross. The slope to the west gradually rises to a height of 20 feet, and creatures standing at its highest point benefit from both a commanding view of the battlefield and a clear vantage point for ranged attacks.

The group, seeing Janira in serious trouble, all close in on the beast. Fiddle fills his allies with hope and good feelings. Meanwhile Rangor, Starling and Landrel each fire off an arrow. Even despite the cover granted by the treeline, all three hit their mark and draw blood from the creature.

The creature, moves up and takes another hack at the annoying little creature before him. The axe drives down on Janira, easily bypassing the nimble and armored Pathfinder. She grimaces in pain, nearly succumbing to the onslaught, but she stays up, much to the minotaur's furious rage.

Once gathered together, Janira thanks each of you for your bravery shown.

So, what did you find out? Is there something going on in the cave? Do you still have unfinished business in there, or are you ready to get back to Absalom? This is your confirmation, I am but a guide so to speak.

Landrel is happy to let the minotaur make his escape, relieved that were no fatalities in this mission, especially his own.

"Oh, you'll be happy to know madame that I took meticulous notes on everything. However, the gist is that the gillman hold a pool of water inside the cavern as sacred and they visit it for spiritual purposes. Near that pool is also some ancient carvings from the holy book of Aroden and a miniature city. In addition, we found a dead necromancer who looked to be a victim of his own undead and some small lizard like creatures that set up a trap. There was also some type of jelly monster, I really must become more versed on different type of creatures that tend to reside in dungeons. In any case, I believe we've seen everything worth seeing. Did I mention there were petroglyphs before we reached the pool and an inadequate water trap?"
