I work on mostly java web apps, but I've dipped my toes in a few different things, python, vb, c#, powerbuilder. So, doing web stuff I should be familiar with markup...

Yup :/
Also, can't believe two of ya got worse initiative than me. Bad dice all around... I have yet to get a roll above 8.
F Samsaran Wizard 1 [ HP 7/7 | AC 10 Tch 10 FF 10 | Fort +3* Ref +0* Will +3* | CMD 10 | Init +0 Perc +3* | Effects: none ]
There's an ongoing pseudo-joke in another of my PbPs that the dice roll high for the GM and low for everyone else.
When the GM NPCs someone because they haven't posted recently? He rolls 20s for their attacks. Crits. Confirms.
His baddies? Roll nat 20s. Confirm.
Us? We just roll 1s, 2s, 7s... it's quite pathetic.

I have developed a mild case of Bronchitis. Taking anti B's and a steroid and I'm supposed to be in bed, but these games mean too much to me, and there are way too much fun, so please be patient with me over the next few days.
Unit 1 initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Goblin Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 I am here averaging the initiative of the adult goblins remaining and the young goblins courageous enough to fight Unit 1
Initiative order
Goblins
Moq 17
Surana 11
Unit 1
Gruul 7
Krevek 4
Kudzu 2
I am sorry there is no map, but if we are patient with one another, we can probably do this without one. Everyone should be able to attack, and unfortunately, with what will become obvious, there is no benefit to flanking in this encounter, so if you have question don’t hesitate. There’s no rush. Thanks

Indeed, get better, and I agree, am certainly enjoying the game. Even is Krevek is a mute most of the time.

I noticed Ryko wasn't on the initiative, so now I'm trying to ride him *genius* xD
Other plans include; asking Ryko to stick Mog on the nearby wall, pick up Mog and throw him, and walk forward 20 ft. and ready a action to shoot when the angle is clear (which sounds a lot more 'effective' now that I think about it).
Thoughts?
male
Yes I completely missed rolling for Ryko. In other PbP games I run, since I'm really not a big fan of the initiative system, I usually just have NPCs go last.
Male Half-Orc Ranger 1 (Trapper, Guide)
Not sure if I should be going or if I should be waiting for the result of surana and mog's attacks, and unit 1's action...
male
Give me just a little bit of time to get a post up, and then you should be up, okay. Thanks, and I appreciate everyones patience.
F Samsaran Wizard 1 [ HP 7/7 | AC 10 Tch 10 FF 10 | Fort +3* Ref +0* Will +3* | CMD 10 | Init +0 Perc +3* | Effects: none ]
Usually the first round has some people waiting for the baddies, and then there'll be a GM post, and then everybody can go.
Not sure if Terquem runs it that way or another way, though.
Edit: Terquem, you ninja DM!
Male Human Fighter 2(Weapon Master) HP 22/22 AC 19 FF 17 Touch 12 CMD 17 (ff 14) Fort +4 Ref +2 Will +0 Init +2 Perception +6
Basing on his comment above, I would say go ahead and post. Also, I think it means the Unit goes on init 1
EDIT: Or, I could be wrong
Male Half-Orc Ranger 1 (Trapper, Guide)
No rush or anything, just trying to make sure folks weren't waiting on me! This is my first PbP encounter :)

Kudzu - it is a good idea, and I had to learn this the hard way, to alway preview your posts, particularly when formating (which I screw up regularly). That way you can catch all the little things that try to get by
Male Goblin Gunslinger (Musket Master) 2 [18/18 HP | AC 20/Touch 17/FF 14 | LOADED
@Surana - Ready is like Delay, in the way that you lower your initiative, except it also costs an action. Meaning that Mog would take his turn again after Ryko's (after "interrupting" his action with the ready), but with no Move Action for that round as he already used it.
F Samsaran Wizard 1 [ HP 7/7 | AC 10 Tch 10 FF 10 | Fort +3* Ref +0* Will +3* | CMD 10 | Init +0 Perc +3* | Effects: none ]
Not quite. Ready doesn't let you get two turns (or in this case two standard actions) in a round. Readying costs a /standard/ action regardless of the action you ready, and then your initiative changes to the count on which your readied action goes off.
Female Dwarf Cleric 1
Thanks, terquem - had to post that one on my phone and missed the issue.

The wife and I are taking our youngest and his wife, they are both college students, aww isn’t that sweet, to Las Vegas for a Spring Break get away, and I will be out of town, and off line, mostly, until Saturday. I will try to update the game, before the end of today.

Buffet at the Rio was the best I have ever had.

Tried the Buffet at Excalibur, meh, it was okay. MGM still remains my fav. But I'm back. I'll try to get caught up and get things moving again.

The Rio man! It is the way to go! I am hoping to head to Primm in the next couple months and will make the added drive just to hit the Rio! :)
Excalibur is not that good, I stayed there last time I was in Vegas and it was just alright. I think I prefer to stay at the Flamingo, I have a preference for Hot tub style bathrooms!
The station hotel in Henderson also has a top notch buffet!

Which track for leveling are we using?
male
I think since this is slow by nature, we should use the fast track.

In second edition, AD&D, a complex formula was used to determine what the ratio of eligible targets in a melee were using 1/2 for small creatures, 1 for medium, 2 for large, 4 for huge and 6 for gargantuan. Then the DM would roll a die to determine what target was hit based on the ratio (Say two PCs who are medium are fighting a gargantuan giant, the total of creature sizes is 8 (two for medium and one six for the giant) therefore there is a 1 in 8 chance for each PC to be the target, and a 6 in 8 chance it is the giant. So you assign a number to each PC, say 1 and 2, and on a 3 thru 8 the giant is the target. Then you resolve the attack without any negative modifiers.
Also in first edition the formula and resolution of missiles in melee made practically no sense at all and included determining what direction the missiles were coming from, but even after a long paragraph of very confusing math, it came down to rolling the same chance as in second edition.
Finally it is important to remember that in first and second edition, the party made all their attacks at the same time and initiative was not, usually, an individual matter, and so if the party were to fire multiple missiles, the DM was supposed to assign a ratio of the missiles equally to the ratio of the sizes of things involved in melee, to hit each side (in the above example if eight missiles were fired into that melee, 2 would have to be rolled "to hit" the PC and six would be rolled to hit the giant

3.o PH page 124
(I have copies of the first edition DM guide, 1977, the Black Book Second edition, 1989, the 3.0 and 3.5 editions as well - it is interesting to note that in first and second edition it was always refereed to as "Missile" combat, and was changed to "Ranged" combat in third.)

Also, have we lost Kudzu?
male
Yes we shouldn't be waiting for anyone. I will PM Kudzu today. The interaction has been great between the characters, but you should decide if you are going back to the city, and make plans, or delve down into the depths to see what could be down there.
male
No reply from Kudzu, yet. I am conflicted about sending her down the ladder.

Speaking of conflict xD This whole time I've been thinking that the hatch ends at the bottom, like it was some kind of silo for the machines.

:( I hope I didn't scare her away.
male
I don't think it was us. I just checked some of the other identities, and it looks like the person hasn't posted since April 2 in any forums. If the player returns, there is no reason the character could not rejoin you, unless the rest of you are bothered by that kind of behavior.
Male Half-Orc Ranger 1 (Trapper, Guide)
I don't mind that kind of thing... plus she may have ran back to confer with her superiors, and then could come chasing after us... or some other such reason.
Male Human Fighter 2(Weapon Master) HP 22/22 AC 19 FF 17 Touch 12 CMD 17 (ff 14) Fort +4 Ref +2 Will +0 Init +2 Perception +6
If it doesn't grind the game to a halt, I am OK depending on the reason. Life happens, but at some point...
