"Most people don't make a habit of sneaking around in an inn, it got me curious. I don't see any traps or cages down here, so what are you really up to I wonder?" Cyrus says giving the room a brief once over.
"I uh........well......." The Innkeeper said while rubbing the back of his neck. "Look, I've got thirty-two gold pieces and a flask of good whiskey on me. It's yours and you just turn around and go back to bed. Deal"
"Not interested." Cyrus answers. "Now I'm even more curious as to why you're willing to part with everything you've got right from the start, so why don't you just show me what you've got down here?"
The man threw his hands up defensively, "I......I can't. Please, if my Brother finds out what I've been doing.....well, it wouldn't sit well with him. I just.........What do I have to do to make you forget this little encounter ever happened?"
"I've not the slightest who in the hells your brother is. For a second there I actually thought you might be someone interesting but it seems you're just a sniveling coward trying to keep himself from owning up to his deeds anyway he can. First bribery and now begging... you couldn't be more dull. Now if you don't move this along I'm just going to figure it out myself." Cyrus says taking a step forward.
"He's a Captain of the Balentyne, if anything happens to me he won't stop until my killer is brought to justice," He replied. "If you let me go, I'll forget this happened, but you and your friends need to leave in the morning."
There seems to be a newfound resolve in the man's voice.
Cyrus shrugs. "A bit of a leap isn't it. I've made no threats against you and you presume to think I mean you harm? And now you're kicking us out to protect your secret... pathetic little man." Cyrus walks past the inn keeper and looks around for whatever he has hidden in the basement.
"I am the owner of this establishment and I decide you stays here. Now get out of here." The Innkeeper demands, and slight tremor in his voice.
Cyrus ignores the innkeeper and presses on the stone.
A section of wall pulls back slightly and moves over to the side, revealing a tunnel of some sort.
The Innkeeper remained silent, and quite pale.
"I don't suppose you'd care to lead the way?" Cyrus asks with a slight grin.
The Innkeeper didn't move. Except for one step back towards the steps back up to the Inn.
Cyrus gives his silent whistle a sharp blow. "How far do you think you can get?"
The Innkeeper got a confused look on his face.
Not knowing what it was that she heard or how it woke her up, still in her disguise she goes to Ravan's bed and shakes her, "Hey...hey wake up...something just woke me up. I think we better check it out. Wake up. She says as she shakes her. She keeps her voice kinda low so no one
She tilts her head to the side to try and listen. Was there really a noise? Maybe it was just a bad dream that woke her up? She had a lot of those....a little less so since she met Ruedo...but she still had them sometimes. Maybe it was just her imagination. She didn't want to wake up Ravan out of a dead sleep for nothing. Noting that Ravan had turned to her other side and was still snoring she sighs. They had both fallen asleep so fast, maybe it was just a dream after all. She thinks to herself as she rubs her ears while trudging back towards the bed.
Cyrus walks down the tunnel without giving the innkeeper another thought.
Not able to shake the feeling that something was off she sighs and gets up again. She heard something didn't she? Looking over at Ravan's sleeping form she walks out of the room and heads downstairs to see if she heard the noise again while rubbing her still sleepy eyes.
Having been shaken awake, Ravanalonna sits up as sees Eri gone. While it was possible she'd snuck over to spends some time with Ruedo, she couldn't shake the nagging feeling something was going on...something that could end badly.
Staying in her guise, she gets out of bed, wrapping a sheet around her as she steps out into the hallway.
Having only just left the room, Eri is pretty easy to spot at the end of the hallway as she makes her way to the stairs. She continues slowly down the hall, stopping every little bit or so she looks as if she's trying to listen for something.
She stops at the top of the stairs and looks back to see Ravan standing outside their room. Holding her arm out, she motions for Ravan to join her. Eri points to her ear, then points down the stairs.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, the Innkeeper headed up the stairs. Only to run into Eri and Ravan.
"Do all of you enjoy wandering about in the middle of the night?" He said instinctively.
Ravanalonna studies the inkeeper trying to determine what is going on, but still only half awake has no idea. She does however fall effortlessly into a relatively basic half truth.
[b"Katie is a very light sleeper unfortunately, elven hearing and all. I thinks she woke up after hearing a strange noise of some sort."[/b] she says with a yawn, the motion subtly causing the sheet around her to slip a bit.
She looks up at the man as she rubs her eyes and nods. Yawning she holds her arms up at him, wanting to be picked up.
When her "request" to be picked up isn't immediately acted on, and he just stands there looking at Ravan, her lower lip begins to tremble as tears form in her eyes. Stomping her feet in frustration she tugs on his hand before putting her arms up again as she emits a pitiful whining sound.
