Heroes of Wolfpoint

Game Master hallowsinder

Many heroes have found themselves wrapped up in various seemingly disconnected plots throughout Isger. How do these events all weave together, and what fate will befall Wolfpoint?

@Derrick Indeed.

@Cydrius'sTraitQuestions Indeed.

Actually, I love the premise, but now that I think about it, I have limited time to devote to pbp, and would prefer to spend it on GM'ing.

Also, I haven't the faintest clue as to what to do with my two newfangled feats, so that provided a reason to step out as well.

Good Luck, Dragon, have fun out there.

Thank you :)

Oh, about the Gnoll race: I found this description of the Gnoll monster that provides a template for a Gnoll player character. That one has only +1 natural armor bonus, and has weapon familliarity with Gnoll weapons. I doubt the latter thing will ever come up, but this seems like a cleaner and more official baseline to use for the race, so I thought I'd point it out.

One more question, and then the character will be pretty much done: With the character having Handle Animal, would it be fine for him to start the campaign with animals trained before the events? (The tricks in question would be Attack, Down, Heel, Watch and, respectively, Fetch and Bury for one Hyena, and Track and Seek for the other. Attack and Track are DC 20, which the character can make on a roll of 13 and more. The others are DC 15, which the character can make on a roll of 15.)

Best part is I had taken focused mind as a pure fluff trait, never thought it would really come into play o.o.

A hyena trained that well would be worth a LOT more than a baseline, and I would rule that this would be similar to crafting. You'd be able to halve the cost, presuming you made your check. Otherwise your time was wasted, and on a failure by five or more, you taught it bad habits that will require spending the halved cost again to remove the habits.

I will allow you to spend as much time and as many rolls as you like before character creation, but, given the ranks you need to make, this could get expensive if you're unlucky.

Also, for its in and out of combat utility, a hyena is severely underpriced, so I'm going to have to put in cost escalations there too. When I compare the utility of having a masterworked weapon verses the utility of having a hyena fighting alongside you, a hyena is far more valuable at the levels we will be during this campaign.

THink Olam is ready. Take a look and let me know if you agree.

Wont be by a computer for a couple of hours. I'll check in when I get back

Go to Paizo Inc..

Things are unfinished. I don't understand why one of your manifester levels is 3. I don't know why do you get 6 readied maneuvers. I presume this information is somewhere, but following the formatting back and forth across as many pages as possible is... irritating.

Hm. A fair point. I was mostly going for it as a supplement to the character's lackluster perception, but I think it'll be better for everyone involved if I just swap that part out for something else. Back to the drawing board.

It fits your character so perfectly that I am loathe to deny it to you like this.. But it really is a big power boost. There's a reason I didn't let Wolf Rider actually have his wolf attack.

Alright, looking over Shirraj. You are almost solid mechanically. You have no background or traits and your equipment is not marked off your gold yet. I believe you did your skill ranks wrong, as you have the wrong Perform at 13. You've baked the bread with only a few minor missteps, but have yet to put any jam on it. Though as a catfolk, you get access to the awesome avatar. :P

first i accidentally put the bonus into sing, then i moved it to apparently the wrong perform again.

The equipment and background aren't finished yet.

Hm... Rethinking it, would you consider allowing (I have no problem paying for it; I've already been reaching wide for things to actually spend on) a single hyena which is not trained for combat? (I'm thinking Heel, Watch, Fetch, Bury, Track, Seek.) I'd have no issue paying full price for that, it'd be a bit less to manage, and it wouldn't be nearly as much of a power boost, but it would still fill a number of critical holes in the character's skillset. It could be statted as a regular (and significantly weaker) dog; I was just going with a Hyena because of how they're generally the favored animals of gnolls.

I'm having issues finding an indication of how much such a thing would cost; if you have any insights there, I would be happy to hear them.

Usual price is 80 gold for a hyena. 120 gold for a combat trained one.

Link here. Last table on page under "Other Animals".

Ah, yes, I'd seen that. It's the price of further training that I was wondering about.

You said the reason you wanted your hyena was primarily for noncombat, so as long as you're fine with having a hyena that has some old wound, say, that gives it a -5 to attacking and CMB, I'm fine with you having one for 150 gp, 3 ranks in animal handling, and some good roleplaying. :)

Ooh! Good idea. Let's go with that.

Ok .. Check the same link now. I've cleaned up the formatting. The original sheet was not designed for Psionics or Path of War and I have had to do a lot of reformatting

The formatting should be better now. But if you still dont like it let me know what your preferred format is and where I can find it.

WarSoul(SK) 1 and Pathwalker(Psy War) each give 3 maneuvers ready and known at 1rst level as well as 1 stance each. I have included an abreviated snapshot of both of their Maneuvers progression charts in the Maneuvers section

alternatively these can be found at

Lhyrnyr Notch-Ear

Here's the character's crunch. It's been a pretty long day and I'm quite tired, so I'll wait until I'm in better form tomorrow before I write up the appearance and background sections.

Anything wrong with what I've got up there?

Looks good, Cydrius.

Wabbit, it's on the front page, Muga post.

Just spent the past 1.5hrs cutting and pasting trying to get things into format a la the Muga Post and of course after all that time without saving ,the page timed out on me **$%^#&*)(&(&)(*)*)*%EE%^

giving up for the night. Will start all over tomorrow

One more question Do you do fractional BAB for the MultiClassers? That second attack on a full attack is a long way away

Hum... I shall consider the matter, but I wonder why you're concerned. With your classing, I doubt you'll ever need to make a full attack. :P

my current build looks like this

BAB
+1=1
- =1
- =1
+1 =2
- =2
+1 =3
Awakened Blade Prestige Class

With Fractional BAB it would look like this
+1
+.75 =1.75
+.75 =2.5
+.75 =3.25
+.75 = 4
+ .75 = 4.75
Awakened Blade Prestige Class

This build is a late bloomer but I've been eager to play it ever since Path of War came out.

Wabbit, I suggest that you look into the Lazarus Form Recovery plugin for Chrome and Firefox. It's a lifesaver for those moments.

Rather, from my analysis, you're already the strongest warrior by a good margin.

bah, lemme get a bit of time to prepare and I'll take em! :P

Don't underestimate this one. The fearsome might of Asmodeus's order brings much strength to its wielder.

@Count Visage ok... lets forget about the fractional BAB wait...what was I talking about

@Cydrius Thanks.. looking into the plug-in now

Alright, character sheet's complete. I'm ready to enter play whenever you're ready, Count Visage.

I kept the background relatively short and simple, as I'm uncertain where and how you're planning to introduce Lhyr.

Okay, only need to put together the background and the traits now.

@ Count Visage

Ok click on my pic to see Olam. I've added links at the bottom for the Archetypes, Ardent, and the Riven Hourglass Discipline

Let me know if this is formatted more to your liking

Hm. Rereading the thread, suddenly I'm a little unsure:

When you say three bonus feats, is this in addition to the feats normally earned, or are those bonus feats, and "bonus feat every level" just means we get a feat every level instead of every two?

(Or, in short, does a character start off with five feats, or three?)

If it's the former, then I will be picking up Antagonize (the errata-ed version) and Greater Mercy.

Also, before I forget. I reflavored that 'wound' idea as the Hyena being a weak-born runt. I hope that's alright with you.

That is a good question.. I had simply taken it as an additional feat a level

Lhyrnyr: Five. That is quite fine.

@Wabbithuntr: You might have two extra feats to sling around, if you didn't notice that. Also, I'd like to inform you that I will not be using the optional Allegiance Benefit system. You may swap one discipline per class you have via martial traditions, but not get a bunch of bonuses for doing so.

Ok 2 more feats to choose :)

I agree with you on removing the Allegiance benefit sys it felt munchkinny adding those features. removal in progress.

any particular levels where I should add the 2 feats?

Currently I have one feat each level

I'll add them to lvls 1 and 3 unless told otherwise

That is the correct place to put them.

Feats added. Ready to enter at your leisure. May I hop to the discussion thread?

Give me a few sentences on why you have your traits and drawbacks, what they mean to you beyond the mechanical. Allow me to demonstrate.

Bestial Wrath- Something inside me feels like it slows down as the critical moment approaches, giving me all the time in the world to savor the surge of wrath and joy that flows over me, awaiting the blood tide. (+2 bonus on critical confirmation rolls, Religious)
Killer- Death is the only thing with meaning left to me, the beauty of flawless stroke. (+1 damage on criticals, multiplied by modifier, Combat)
Signature Moves- My master wanted me to become an element of fear and terror to cow his enemies, spreading word of the bloodthirsty samurai with a demon possessed Nodachi that springs forth from its sheath wrapped in flames with a hellish roar. I'd hate to disappoint, it's a good rumor. (Has Mwk Fire-forged Steel Nodachi, and gains +1 to Bluff and intimidate while wielding it, Social)

Traits are supposed to be bonuses for establishing your character better, so I like people to personalize the descriptions of their traits to be personal to them.

If you must use the base descriptions, please reword them in your character's words.

Went with that, and also added some to the character's background, to better clarify what the Lawbringers are.

Very good. I'll have a post up for your entry within 12 hours. You may drop by the discussion thread.

Changelog 156.2 lol

Feats have been added

Section for Psicrytal Added

Talents added to Psionic section and relevant link placed at bottom of profile

A sheen of sweat covered Olam as he knelt in front of the Masters. The test had been grueling, but he had been well prepared.

"You are ready. .. Take what we have taught you and go with our love. You have been given a gift, an opportunity to be a force for Good in the world. . Use it wisely. "

Olam bowed in respect and thanks to these men and women who had taught him about the Psionic Arts, the Path of War and so much more.

Master Quon approached and handed him a bag. ." Here are some things to help with your start into the world " as he handed Olam the bag He took his other hand and placed it on Olam's chest. Olam felt a rush as all of the sweat, and weariness from the Test was washed away. All of the other Masters had gathered about him in a circle.

Now it was Old Master Liel who stood in front of Olam. With a comforting smile she placed her hands onto his head and said Don't worry this will not hurt A flash went through his mind erasing the Location and Surroundings of the Jade Wind Monastery and then the Temple and the Masters began to fade away.....

@Count Visage..... Olam is ready to be teleported to a destination of your choice.

Alright, I think I'm getting to the maximum number of players I want, so I'm going to give everyone who hasn't been inducted into the roleplay proper yet 48 hours to put their best foot forward.

I'll chose my final accept-ee out of those applicants.

@ Count Visage

If it will make a difference I can certainly replace the ardent levels with Psy Warrior or Stalker to make everything Pathfinder RAW. Olam is eager to get started

You're on the top of the list so far, I just wanted to give anyone else who put work in one last chance to compete. For example, if Shirraj drops in with a great backstory, I don't want the work there to be for naught.

permission to dot aboard?

Indeed. Still considering your point of entry.
