| Aelar Naïlo |
hmmmm become one of us Aelar thinks to himself
Aelar then chuckles at the sight of the costumes. Well isn't that slightly odd. I think I know where we should begin if you haven't figured it out already.
Bannock
|
I was waiting for MArcus to post, because I didn't want to spoil it for him. ;)
Bannock puts on a costume, then stands in front of the mirror.
"Well, alright lads. Let's see how this goes."
| DoubleGold |
You can now see a path in the mirror that points to the Golems room, which you already knew where it was. And a sign that reads "You are now resistant to all of his attacks," As the suit glows on you as you look in the mirror. But only you can see it, as you will have to wait for your allies to do the same.
| DoubleGold |
sorry, busy few days
You all travel to the golems area. You have a lot of free space. The golem is 15 feet in front of you all. As it thinks you are an iron golem for a second, it takes longer to react. disadvantage on init check for it
init: 2d20 ⇒ (14, 14) = 28 clay golem
init: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (5) = 9 marcus
init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (9) = 12 aelar
init: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (9) = 11 Bannock
no map for this, just picture a big empty room with the golem in the center, not wasting my time for that.
The golem casts haste as a bonus action, moves up to aelar and attacks.
hit: 8 + 1d20 ⇒ 8 + (15) = 23
2nd hit: 8 + 1d20 ⇒ 8 + (20) = 28 crit
total dmg: 6d10 + 10 ⇒ (10, 4, 7, 6, 5, 7) + 10 = 49 you will take half since you are resistant
| Marcus Covell |
Round 1, Feinting Attack, Superiority Dice 1/4
Marcus moves in, and as he feints to the left, he moves his sword arm out to the right for an attack with his rapier, then another attack from the side.
Feinting Att: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Feinting Att Adv: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Feinting Att Dam: 1d8 + 5 + 2 + 1d8 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 + (7) = 15
Rap Att 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Rap Dam 2: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8
| Aelar Naïlo |
So I take 25 damage?
Aelar disengages away trying to distance himself from the golem before firing at it with his pistol.
If there is still space behind Marcus or Bannock I disengage there and if not I move to the right.
Pistol att: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Pistol dmg: 4d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 4) + 3 = 14
Bannock
|
Bannock's eyes go wide as Aelar is dealt such a devastating blow. Staying behind Marcus, he casts a pair of spells, their magical energy flying off his fingertips.
Action: Beacon of Hope. Bonus action: Spiritual Weapon
The Ephemeral sword of light launches down at the constructed foe.
to hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
| Marcus Covell |
Round 2, Feinting Attack, Superiority Dice 2/4
Marcus moves in, and as he feints low this time, he moves his sword arm up for two quick attacks with his rapier.
Feinting Att: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Feinting Att Adv: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Feinting Att Dam: 1d8 + 5 + 2 + 1d8 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 + (5) = 14
Rap Att 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Rap Dam 2: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 2 = 11
| DoubleGold |
While Marcus lands a good blow with his rapier removing chunks of clay, Bannock misses due to the Golems haste, and Aelar seems to fire at the ceiling.
no, the mirror shows you a reflection of a path leading to the clay golem room, you don't step through it. The path isn't visible without the mirror. Although it is knew where the room was without the mirror.
The clay golem knows it can't hit you all as hard as it wants, but it keeps trying
This time at Marcus, since he is the next target hit: 8 + 1d20 ⇒ 8 + (20) = 28
hit: 8 + 1d20 ⇒ 8 + (5) = 13
haste recharge: 1d6 ⇒ 6 yep
dmg marcus takes: 4d10 + 5 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 7) + 5 = 26 he takes half of that.
Round 2, heroes are up
Marcus does another good hit on the Golem.
| Aelar Naïlo |
Aelar quickly tries to asses his wounds before returning fire at the golem
Pistol att: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Pistol dmg: 4d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 1) + 3 = 9
Pistol dmg crit: 4d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 4) = 15
Sneak att dmg: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5) = 13
Sneak att crit: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5) = 16
53 Damage dealt.
Bannock
|
As a bonus, the spiritual hammer comes down on the golem,
to hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
...but misses horribly.
"Ach, Marcus lad, keep at 'im. I'll stay ya in th' fight!"
Action= Cure Wounds @ 2nd lvl
t3h heelz maxxed: 8 + 8 + 3 = 19 This should put him at 57/58, yeah?
| DoubleGold |
As the clay golem takes a lot of damage, it still has a lot of clay left in him.
It will slam marcus again hit: 8 + 1d20 ⇒ 8 + (4) = 12
hit: 8 + 1d20 ⇒ 8 + (6) = 14 but it can't seem to hit a fly, let alone marcus.
and does his haste recharge recharge: 1d6 ⇒ 6 yes, +2 ac again. As it is still energetic.
Heroes are up
| Marcus Covell |
Round 3, Superiority Dice 2/4
Marcus does not feint during this attack, as he attempts a more forward approach.
Rap Att: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Rap Dam: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 2 = 14
Rap Att 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Rap Dam 2: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 2 = 11
| Aelar Naïlo |
This is getting a bit out of hand. Aelar starts getting nervous at the sight of an enraged golem. Aelar takes aim hoping for another stroke of luck.
Pistol att: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Pistol dmg: 4d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 4) + 3 = 12
Sneak att: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6) = 14
Bannock
|
Bannock resists the urge to wade into melee, but the spiritual hammer slams down again.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
And misses. Again.
He throws some healing at Aelar, since you never know who will be needed to do what.
Cure Wounds 2 max: 8 + 8 + 3 = 19
| DoubleGold |
Bannocks weapon misses, but greatly heals max.
Now that the Golem is berserk, it has no idea what is is attacking, so there is a chance it attacks an object instead of max.
attack max: 1d6 ⇒ 6 on a 1 it attacks an object
hit: 8 + 1d20 ⇒ 8 + (18) = 26
hit: 8 + 1d20 ⇒ 8 + (3) = 11
though out of control it still manages to hit max for dmg: 2d10 + 5 ⇒ (2, 4) + 5 = 11 and he takes half of that.
Heroes are up You can all see the golem is getting reckless and exhausted and its attacks aren't getting any better in accuracy or strength, in fact it is relying on luck.
Bannock
|
Spiritual Hammer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Spiritual Hammer damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
The ephemeral weapon slams down on the rampaging construct.
Bannock casts Sacred Flame on the golem, and it is wreathed in fire.
Dex save DC 14 or take 1d8 ⇒ 7 damage
| Marcus Covell |
Round 4, Superiority Dice 2/4
Marcus pushes his attack attack.
This thing does NOT...WANT...TO...DIE!
Rap Att: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Rap Dam: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 2 = 12
Rap Att 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Rap Dam 2: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15
| Aelar Naïlo |
Aelar smiles once the pain start alleviating."Drinks on me once we get out of this hellhole." Aelar then attempts to end this fight.
Pistol att: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Pistol dmg: 4d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 3) + 3 = 12
Sneak att: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1) = 8
| DoubleGold |
You finish off the golem and you search the all the rooms now that contructs no longer attack you. You manage to find 1000 gold total, 1 invisibility potion, 2 potions of healing and a ring of evasion. Ring of evasion: 3 times per day, you can turn a failed dexterity saving throw into a successful one.
Killing the golem allows you access to all rooms except the other 2 danger rooms, which the hobgoblin suggests you come back for.
Well Zera says. You have tested them all well, the danger rooms are still danger rooms however and there are 2 of them left, come back when you are stronger. Go to Dardo city, it is at the bottom of the hill and about 4 miles from the path at the bottom. Head out now and you can get there before it is dark. Otherwise rest here and head out in the morning, or go at night if you wish
You find Brians diary in a secret room unlocked. will get to that tomorrow, tired today.
Anything else you'd like to do here before heading out of here?
You realize it is almost dark and if you head out now you can beat the zombies and displacer beast outside and make it to the next city. A civilized city that doesn't hold hostages, that are friendly to other races.
What do you all wish to do?
| Aelar Naïlo |
Aelar peeks outside at the dimming sun." Not a fan of running around with no sun, let's just read the diary and call it a night.
Aelar speaks to zera. "I'll be much obliged if you are able to spare a few more bullets."
"Sounds perfect marcus. Although Bannock might enjoy that ring, he's a little slower on the move then the rest of us."
Bannock
|
There's only us three, Marcus. You, me the cleric, and Aelar the rogue. And yes, if I could have the ring so that I have a better chance of living and healing you, that's be great. You can have the gold if that makes it fair.
Bannock gratefully accepts the ring as he waves off the gold. "No, no. 'Tis you two what risks all th' lines, so you two go an' buy ye some nice things when we get t' town. As the party's only cleric 'tis my job to stay in th' back an' dish out healing to those what do th' fighting. If I went down, well that would be a true tragedy and we'd be much diminished. So you two take the gold and try an' stay healthy!
As for the leaving, aye, let's wait here th' night and venture forth in the day. Starting a campaign with the night about to start is never a good idea."
| Marcus Covell |
Here's an idea - Let's split the 1000GP equally among us, Aelar can have the Potion of Invisibility, Bannock the Ring of Evasion, and I will take the two Healing Potions. Sound good?

As you all sleep you get to read Brian's diary
Dated 24 years ago
"Araca's toy store, we first now open, our grand opening. We tested out these toys, thus toys of war, and other fun toys and now they are ready to sell. We will even pay humans to play with our toys, they might die, but I don't care, they are humans, as we are amongst the superior races."
Date 21 years ago
"So NESA is thinking about going on a mission. And some of the others are going underground. Araca, who was in the owner of this toy store has left me in charge. Our business is doing well, and with our tools of war we are able to win anything, any fight, well almost. But we took them across the sea to the other continents and we did well. And now something about bringing the toys with them to distant lands? NESA did not tell me what kind of lands or what vehicle they made, as it seems secrecy is in every organizations."
Dated 6 years ago
"What is this, our very few underground operation people have been slaughtered, by some unknown species. They were going to tell us, but just at the last one surfaced and got away from the place, he was killed. Now we don't know where the underground cave is, we just know it is somewhere underground and a new species lives there. At least they killed all the humans underground that live there or so we think. Anyway, Demons are attacking the toy store and other places. I went to go warn the others, but they don't seem to believe me."
Dated 5 years ago
"NESA is still not back yet, and the Demons and other creatures, they now believe me that underworld creatures are here, but it is too late, most of the toy store employees are dead, a few Demons have occupied the toy store. The good news is they are weak Demons and in time our constructs will take care of them. All the strong ones that have tried died. But it isn't just our toy store in trouble, it seems like the entire region, maybe even the entire planet is going to be overrun. At least they aren't leaving the toy store to warn other demons, in fact they are locked in there rooms somehow. I think Demons and Devils have forgot about this place, but they have bigger things to take care of. I'm working on an experiment so I can become part construct, part hobgoblin, Zera and Darf will have to take care of this toy store when I leave."
Dated 3.5 years ago
"I finally did it, but once I'm part construct there is no going back, as my original body will die. Here I am, a hobgoblin mind and soul in an iron golem. I am the ultimate weapon as I now have abilities of an iron golem and a hobgoblin. I have to wait till dawn as the Demons and Devils have created some zombies and a displacer beast, it is right near the toy store and they come out at night, not to mention they are responsible for the permanent slow spell cast on this place. I'm going to dispel it one day and then kill the demons. If this place ever gets employment and opens again, it will be a miracle. I can't go through hoards of zombies and ghouls and a displacer beast, but one day I will return. I'll have to sneak out without Zera and Darf seeing me as they will not want me to leave."
Dated the next day
"Morning so I left. If you are reading this, realize this, I am now more powerful than Araca and I will become the next King, destroy the Demons and enslave all humans again. Pointy ears, black skin, white skin, 3 and half foot tall humans with big feat, it don't matter, I will enslave them all. Fat humans with big beards and axes, yeah those are the ones I hate the most"
As you all reach Dardo city the next morning you all realize it is a normal city. All races are living together and there are several paths leading out to other places. There is a town bar, they Mayor's office "Dardo", a bounty hunters guild, a group of miners, a library, a magic store (warning magic items are expensive sign), and a blacksmith who makes special weapons and armor.
Bannock
|
As Bannock sees the sign to the bar he exclaims "Oh thank all the Powers and deities and makers and knowers. By my soul I'm going to find the bartender and make him a rich man. Who's with me? Aelar, come on, you don't get a choice. You've pledged the first round and I'm here to collect. Failure to honor thy pledge means I get to inflict you with a random disease in a location of my choice. Hey, I don't make the rules. Let's go."
Bannock goes into the tavern with the determination of the rising sun.
Bannock

Yeah, that'll happen sometimes. That's why I actually check the thread in my games if I haven't heard anything in a whole weekday. Also, Paizo's technology is good, but not perfect, so it might not be updating properly sometimes.

You all get into the tavern. It is a large tavern. You see a group of halflings talking in the corner, a group of two humans at one table, a mixed group of five at another table and three elven women at another table. There are plenty of empty tables to sit at. The bartender is an Ogre. As you all walk in. Have a seat says the Ogre, Our waitress will be with you all in a minute, and you are our expected company, so it is on the house today.
Bannock

Bannock exclaims, "At last! Some luck! Very well then, good Sir Barkeep! Bring us three pitchers of your finest red wine for starters!" Bannock looks at his two friends. "So, what'll you guys have?"
Bannock purposefully sits down at the table across from the humans. "Good evening, friends. I am Bannock, cleric and soldier of The Light. My fellows and I are strangers in this land and we have had QUITE the day! As you can see, our bar tab is open, and I am celebrating the mere fact of being in this tavern. If you will but allow your tongues to loosen and speak to me of this realm and the common goings of the day, I shall see fit to share the bounty of the barkeep and all the joys and riches therein."
Bannock waits for his two companions to introduce themselves, but his wagging tongue seems to portend that he'll do it himself if given an opening.
| Aelar Naïlo |
"Who told them we were coming? That's a little strange." Aelar thinks to himself.
The feeling of uneasiness goes away upon hearing of Bannock's request.
"Thank you for your hospitality." Aelar says while giving the bartender a small bow."I would love some mead if you would happen to have some laying around." Aelar looks around the room for Marcus and Bannock upon losing sight of them.
Aelar eyes widen upon hearing Bannock's voice boom upon introducing himself."I'm sorry I'll be right back." Aelar says to the bartender.
"I'm sorry if Bannock here bothered you, He's a little eccentric." Aelor says with a smile. "I'm Aelar, I'm happy to make your acquaintance."
| DoubleGold |
The waitress all comes around to you, she is a half-elf female, with the equivalent of a women in here 30s. What can I get you for you all today? As the entire region is in danger, maybe even the planet, as I don't know about the other regions of the planet. See those others sitting at the tables? They need people to help them out with stuff and business to take care of. Zera called us on the telephone and said that you three might be here, and that if you are to give you all free meals. My names Zeva by the way, and I'll be your server for today.
