Interesting question about the code of honour. I think HK has a point in that Thorin has not been acting by the Code. Obviously he is not pround of himself or his actions of late, hence why he has continued to crawl into a bottle. However, he has just begun on a path of redemption (I'm assuming that's part of your goal Thorin to eventually have your guy quit his drinking-or at least binging-and become a full fledged, proud member of his order again?) so perhaps limiting his ability, as in the number of times a day, or something like that, and as he begins to live more in-line with the code, his ability increases likewise? Just a thought.
Yes Nit-Nat, i believe just one of you with the Osiron should be totally fine. Also, Brankh's +1 to Chr ability will defintely aid Catila's Bard abilities. So let's Rock that! ; )

yeah i got part of it posted. my mouth is still hurting so bad i've been coming home and going straight to bed. went back to the oral surgeon's office day before yesterday to make sure i wasn't developing a dry pocket, as the pain has become unbearable but he said everything looked good. Then, his 75 lb. examination light broke off the wall and landed in my face.
I'm still here, just be patient with me. these headaches have to lighten up soon.

There's dark humour in getting your face bashed with a lamp at the dentist! Yikes. I just hope it won't complicate things or cause too much pain.
At least HK gets the solace of bourbon whiskey. I can't imagine drinking bourbon with dry sockets after oral surgery "Yeeaaow!" Take it easy, Thorin and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Which brings me Thorin the Cavalier's alcoholism. I'm not sure where the thread was going with this - but I am pretty sure there is no Edict for the Cavalier class which causes the alcoholism itself to affect his honour or have an an impact on his effectiveness as a PC. (If he's really enebriated the DM might have to rule something under circumstances I guess) But the Drunken Fighter thing is cool...and I think it should not penalize the character, no?
He may have failed to live up to the edicts of an order and so was disgraced (does his previous "discrace" precude him for joining an order at level 1? - up to DM). What is his order going to be? (Order of the Dragon? ...or is he undecided?)
And...damn did Brankh..just get whacked for 7 HP?...he did....uuugh!

he's already order of the dragon, which is one of the looser orders. Just sworn to protect friends and allies. He failed at that, and that's why he's been hitting the bottle. I never really thought it would affect any of my abilities, as being a cavalier doesn't really give me any special "powers" per say, I'm not a paladin and nothing is granted by the gods, just by sheer combat experience. Most of the knights you see in film are all drunkards. Maybe not in the low way that Thorin has become, but still getting ripped I think is part of the Cavalier code. However HK wants to run with it I'm fine. It doesn't really matter.
Yeah the Dental lamp falling on me was quite unexpected. This oral surgery office that I went to doesn't look like it's been updated since the Brady Bunch was airing new episodes. I think Mike Brady was the Architect. It wasn't my first choice on places to go but it was in my network, so I went. The pain is steadily getting worse rather than better, and if it isn't better by morning I'm going to the hospital, as I'm all out of pain pills and can't take much more of this.

Hey sorry all! I'm currently living half of the time in the jungle on a small farming community here in the Mexican Riveria Maya. So no connection there at all. I usually come to town every other day at least but sometimes I need to stay at bit longer for whatever reasosns. So in my (hopefully infrequent) longer absences, please do feel free to DMPC Catila if my not posting is holding up the game at all.
And damn Thorin! Sorry to hear about your misfortunes mate! What did the Dentist do/say? You getting free treatment for the next year or two at least??
And both you and Nit-Nat make great points of the Cavalier thing, I guess I was sorta thinking more along the line of Paladin when I voiced my opinions.

These last few days, while physically painful, have been fun game wise and have allowed me to post quite frequently. Unfortunately, I have to return to work today, so my posting schedule will also return to early mornings and evenings, except for weekends.

You're rubbing it in! It's not fair. I'm back in the city and everything is still brown. Nary a flower peaking through the cold mud. But at least the sun's up over the lake. I have some jars of low wines from last summer's mash in the garage...time to dust off the pot still and cook this year's first batch!
Had a nice time yesterday and last night - Darius Rucker played up a storm...literally! It was pouring rain and lightning as we sprinted to our cars! Still a great show and a good time with friends. Had more than my share of bourbon...but who's complaining!

I just learned that when spontaneous casting a cleric substitutes a spell for a cure spell of the same level....not a spell slot. I think Brankh was supposed to choose a spell to sacrifice in exchange for the CLW he cast earlier. I have adjusted his profile to remove Protection from Evil .

Today is going to be busy...well, at least the first part of it. It is Relay For Life weekend and we will be doing the Kids Walk at 10:00 and then a soccer game at Noon.
Home after that and then tonight (weather permitting) will be the opening game for our local Hammerheads soccer team!
But this weekend also begins Spring Break for our county, so I will be off work all next week and able to check in quite frequently. Hopefully we will get a lot of ground/dungeon covered in that time.
Next weekend is Easter and if you have plans to be out of town or "unplugged" just let us know.

As you have seen by the last combat post, I have taken control of Saoirse Palelight...and will continue to play her until Kiradia shows back up. I don't like the game held up by the absence of one player and since you guys are new to me, I'll tell you that if you miss two or more posts (especially during combat), your character's life is in the hands of the dice gods, meaning...anything could befall them.
So, as a courtesy to me, your fellow players, and the game itself, please let us know when you are going to be MIA.
On a lighter note, it's NFL Draft night!!! And I'm going to be multi-tasking with TV, computer, bourbon, food, and God knows what else through the evening! I'm just praying the power doesn't go out with all of these nasty storms passing through our area.

Today is gonna be a full Saturday for me, folks. My son has his final soccer game of the season at 10:30, but prior to that, I'm heading to the field to help with breakfast and grill some dogs for lunch!
