for a while there, perusing potential fodder for the game, I had a complex about "oh, man; I'm going to look like I'm purposely introducing fire-resistant stuff...." but lately, it seems like stuff I randomly pick is resistant somehow or another, so I'm getting over my neurosis. Like this asbestos elemental thing....(j/k)
Altai Iscarni
As monstes get tougher, many of them gain resistances. It only seems logical that more and more foes will have fire resistance - not that that will save them from Riese's spells, which now burn hot enough to damage creatures who are immune to fire! Nasty!

Right on; anybody want to buy more equippermint, go right ahead.
I'm just reading On Stranger Tides by Tim Powers; it's a nice weirdish read.
Sencho sends another, less innocuous than Goldie or Hex Chun Chan majordomo type called Suave to cant wi ye.....
human guy, dressed in silken robes;
calmly he states, "Sencho has a bit of magic that may be useful to your endeavour to explore yon pyramid...." he sips at a goblet of amber potable; when he lifts it from his mouth, the bit the sipped away seems to fill back up;..."with this magic he can make you all look like sahuagin for a good long time. I'll lead you all back to his place in an hour or so if that seems to be of use to your proceeding; though feel free to talk it over if you wish.
I'm thoroughly versant in the process, so let me know if you have any questions about it."

She wants 50 g.p. for the tat. rough guess... it takes about 6 hours to do all told.
Then she sprinkles a white powder on it and the pain recedes to an uncomfortable prickling.
no tats; no idea what it feels like.
who's got ink IRL?
I got 4 myself. A smallish dragon on my left bicep, a flaming skull with a rose coming through it on the right, a cartoon parrot on my left calf(wanna see my bird? It's in me sock!) and 2 dragons intertwined and falling from the sky in a passionate embrace (from a book I have). The calf hurt the most. I like the pain though so it's all good.
I wish I could get some more soon but money is tight.| dungeonmaster heathy |
"It will disguise you as a sahuagin, though you will not be altered into an actual sahuagin. And it will last for days instead of hours.
You shant be able to breathe water by way of this spell, though it wouldn't hinder you own spell's propensity to do so, nor should it make you able to swim, or to claw like a sahuagin. Just look exactly like one."

I need to shop! Something cool for myself....
Are we up to date on liquidating and divvying up treasure? If so what did we get lately?
I have a loot list under a spoiler a couple of pages back. I just didn't think we could sell anyhing here. If we can, I can draw up a list quite quickly.

You can sell here; it's ostensively "bartered" away for stuff you want, at the standard rates for buying/selling goods.

The BOLD above wouldn't happen to be from DragonRiders of Pern would it? It sounds very familiar,... And I don't have any ink. Never really had the desire to inscribe something on my body that I was pretty sure wouldn't look good as I got older. (Unlike most youths, I actually paid attention to what my dad looked like!) Though I must confess I DID entertain the thought,... more than once. And if I had, it would have been a dragon! :)
The torc/displacement item would be cool for almost anyone. Oso (or anybody) could use it to protect themselves while providing aid to an injured fellow. Very cool. I am definitely playing Elgan as a backup healer now. He still has the ability to burn any spell into a heal, and he has a decent number of spells now. But with his new Slayer forms, he is a little more into the fighting now. (NOT that we need it with Ginsu Stig and Quizinart Gittik on the job!) And I still have to watch his HP,.... ;P
I can't think of anything to buy for a druid right now. I'll take a look when I have time. Unless anybody has any suggestions?
Beldan Vale
Beldan’s been pretty quiet after the beach fght. He wouldn’t admit it, but he’s worried about Stig. It’s not like the dwarf to be so drunk that he’d miss a fight!
Whilst others are off getting ink done, he falls to sleep in his berth on the Hellwind, to be refreshed for this pyramid thing in the morning.

Is it this picture? BTW, are those books any good?
dungeonmaster heathy
a lot of people think so; I tried to read them in ninth grade and the fact that it had a lot of really weird words in it made it kinda wearing for me at the time; kinda like reading Dune or something--tried that at about the same time and I couldn't keep straight what was going on. Only in Dragonriders, there'd be weyrs, werries, weyrriders, weyr this and weyr that; I just gave up.

Nope, it's in The Book of the Dragon by Monte Sant, Illustrator: Ciruelo.
It's on page 48 of the book. Mine isn't quite done yet (black lines, no color yet). His Site.I plan on having the dragons colored in two slightly different tones so you can tell them apart more easily. Here is a site with the image on it---Dragons Mating.
Riese
For my spellbook picks- 4th level- enervation, phantasmal killer
3rd- dispel magic, fly
2nd- gust of wind, summon swarm
I could use the Bracers of Armor +2 but it isn't any dire need, they don't stack with Mage Armor or Greater Mage armor so it's mostly worthless to me.
Oso Legumbe
Its probably better if someone who cannot heal themselves takes the displacement item. It will hopefully give them an extra round or two of security if they get low on hit points.
Oso will ask around about the Barons House to see if the tattoo guy was talking truth or just shooting the breeze.
Elgan Dreadwood
FYI, Elgan has a serious hatred of the Blighteye eyepatch thing goin' on. It vs Plants AND Elves?!? OOC, I think it's an unusual item. IN game, ELgan wants to destroy the vile thing! ;)
Sorry lack of posty-ness (and shopping-ness) busy with dress rehearsals of Opera. Will return to normal-ish soon.

What’s the GP limit in this place for barter or trade for minor magical items such as potions? I didn’t think Bel would want to do any shopping, but I realised he could do to restock on a few potions.
I'm saying no g.p. limit; there's loot aplenty.
Beldan Vale
“No way!” says Beldan. “That eyepatch makes me look badass. Besides, it could come in handy if we run into dark elves or … um … tree … things. Seriously. It could happen.”
I don’t really mind much either way, and I’m sure Beldan can be talked out of it, but this actually could come in pretty handy. Hey, there’s gotta be plant monsters on the Isle of Dread.

Right on....I'll prolly kick the show tomorrow nite; give everybody time to finalize.
I have a real fun class to attend at work tomorrow, so I'll be AFK most of the day.
Oh, and somebody wants to play Rod and/or Hudak,......Rod's got a full brace of fireball charm beads and Hudak likes to chop things.

Ok, so does Rod want to Turn or use the fireball necklace?
