Elgan Dreadwood |

Elgan screams at the newcomers as they burst into the room, his scream turning to a Roar as he shifts and grows into the familiar Dire Wolf.
Took no action last round, is it too late to cast a Summon? If not,...
The elganbeast Howls, causing the stone to vibrate a little. Instead of fading, his rumbling challenge seems to grow in subsonic intensity,...
And the druid-dire-wolf seems to have cast his OWN version of mirror image, as he is suddenly surrounded by 3 duplicates. But as all 4 dire wolves raise their heads to howl, it is suddenly obvious that they are not images, but the real thing! The 4some pack of deadly dires, led by Elganwolf, charge as one across the room and plow into the group with the dangerous lightning-spitter. If the stone floor doesn;t shake with their charge, it does when they collide with their targets!
Hey, I couldn't let Altai have ALL the fun! traded in a 4th lvl for Summon Ally IV, used it to summon 3 of Summon III instead! I'm my own wolf pack! WOlf Pack Attack! ;)
Elganbeast leads the charge, stopping just oout of reach to take advantage of his increased size and reach,... +2 from Pip added in,...
And his pack slams into the critters right after him, snapping with their powerful jaws,...
AND TRIP attempts, each wolf,...
1d20+12=26, 1d20+12=26, 1d20+12=30
The Pack each have 45 HP, and a 14AC,...

O-R 5-8 is taken up by this mob of dire wolves trying to bite 2 reptilemen.....
Nobody can tell exactly what is happening over there; there seem to be a reptile man at q5 and s6 is in r6 now; the one at r6 is on the ground and all the mirror images are gone; but it looks like a mob of wolves, a storm of giant canines ripping at a squirrel perhaps.

![]() |

Altairemorhaz may soon birth a flesh golem; Altai takes 13 h.p. in damage as the golem tries to carve it's way out of his guts.
The four doors open; at g4, e6, q5, and s6 (all but q5 are in other rooms that you can't quite make out) four blurry human-size forms emerge or are revealed; there's a blur spell, and a mirror image spell on each of them.......
The one at g4 shoots a ball of electricity at Altai from a weird brass and glass largish wandlike contraption; Altai takes 14 h.p. in damage.
The one at e6 also shoots at Altai; 11 h.p. damage. The other two across the room are awestruck by the sight of the remorhaz apparently...
NEW ROUND!!!
Blurred mirror imaged reptilemen fom behind the four doors, Altai's tremorsense had warned us that they were there.

Riese |

Riese pulls out his wand of magic missile and fires off a trio of bolts (1d4+1=4, 1d4+1=2, 1d4+1=4) at the dude with 2 images left, hoping to destroy his images and slam a shot or so into him.

Altai Iscarni |

Altai carefully shifts forward before snatching up a snakeman.
Move to GHI 6-8 before attackig the guy in G4. Fortunately, creatures with tremorsense ignore silly distractions like mirror images or blur as long as the target touches the ground. Attack roll 12+12+2(bard)=AC 26, damage 9+12+2(bard)=23. Grapple check 8+12+2(bard)+8(huge)=30; he gets eaten if he fails the check. Upon swallowing, he gets a further 19 points of bludgeoning damage and 29 points of fire damage.

Altai swallows the snakeman.....Remorhaz Ouroborous....
The two mobbed by wolves are taken down and shaken like ragdolls, and are of no use to anyone. The one before Gittik and Oso doesn't seem to see them anymore; he stares unwinking at Altairemorhaz and says, "....Yig?...."
Your move.

Altai Iscarni |

Um... What the...? Well, why not? Despite the remorhaz' alien, inexpressive face, it seems puzzled for a second. It then rears up, towering over the hapless snakeman.
"YES. I HAVE RETURNED", it rumbles.
Yig?? Knowledge (arcana) 13+17=30, Knowledge (religion) 9+7=16.

dungeonmaster heathy |

Ancient Snake God.....who knows who worshiped him?....
Lovecraftian; yadda yadda...
Anybody speak draconian? comprehend languages?
If not, there's a bunch of hissing that sounds like it might be words.
It's a snake headed man, and he holds a strange wandlike contraption.
Wanna kill him?

Riese |

Hey Altai, He said "I have guarded your place...as your priests bade me do....please, I implore you to kill me now, o great Yig....my charge is done....oh, bless this holy day!!!" in the tongue of dragons. I know not whether anyone else in our intrepid band speaks the language but I wanted to let you know what he said.

Altai Iscarni |

Altai speaks Draconic too.
In Draconic:
"The fish-kind are interlopers, false ones subverting the true creed. You, on the other hand, has served me well. Answer me one last question, and I shall grant you the boon you desire: Do any other of the faithful remain?"
Once he answers, one way or another, I'll bite his head off and he'll be off to snakeman heaven.

Altai Iscarni |

"Before I change back." Altai nods at the statues. "Should I push the statues into the pit?"
No real reason... I just like the visual of the statues plummeting down into the darkness. If someone can cast Light on them first, we might see something of the room down underneath.

Altai Iscarni |

"Heh heh heh..." The remorhaz' body shakes with laughter. "This will be awesome." The huge worm-bug puts its backs against the now-glowing bug-man statue and shoves it into the pit.
The "other" golem goes for a dive.
After dropping the stone bug-man into the pit, the remorhaz vomits up the semi-digested golem and the swallowed snake-man. He then reverts to human form. "Goodness gracious. That was... intense. Hey, Oso, could I have a tap of that wand? I got burnt pretty badly by the lightning-throwers."

dungeonmaster heathy |

It falls and shatters on the floor, cracking a massive altar of basalt in half down there. The lighted shards illuminate a room below; it's 50 feet down the pit and the room's ceiling is 30 feet above where the altar and broken statue now lie.
The bronze and beetle carapace statue of the snake with the terra cotta man's head in it's mouth stare at you ironically.
And the golem doesn't seem to sit well in Altai's gut.

The golem and the snakeman both go out before Altai becomes human again. Don't want to take any chances.

So it's 80' from here to the floor of the room underneath us?

Yes.

dungeonmaster heathy |

Altai walks over to the headless cultist and picks up the odd contraption the snakeman was carrying. "Bizarre. Did anyone catch if they used an activation phrase?"
What are these things? Any chance of using them?
They look like a 2 foot long fluorescent light bulb girded in brass; there's a long line of some metal thread in the middle of the glass bulb. There's two handles like a stakeout shotgun, and there's a long hose to a glass and brass orb that fits on a back harness...
Use magic device?....

Oso Legumbe |

Oso fetches his wand and taps Altai with it six times, "ala-kaboolah, mishi-caboolah, bibbity, bobbity, boo!" he mutters under his breath.
57 points of healing.
"Dat thing, how many things can you do that today? Sure is useful."

Elgan Dreadwood |

Elgan shifts back after Altairhemoraz finishes off the snake guy. He takes the time to give each of his furry friends a good ear-scratch in thanks before they fade away back to wherever they came from.
The druid casually ambles over towards the pit as the transformed Altai topples the lighted statue into it. He grins at the mage's laughter.
"Sum peeple 'er jes' too easy tah pleez." He murmurs to himself as he looks at what the toppled statues LIGHT spell reveals below.
"Yeh wan' me tah go down, take a looksee? 'Er didja wanna wait 'n all go down dere tagedder?" He asks the others as they gather around.
