Tillia's eyes were filled with tears of relief as Rowan sat up after her ordeal, she threw her arms gently around the warpriest and hugged her as she said, "I'm glad you're alright." She let the woman go and turned to Caleb, "You're right, let's get out of her as soon as possible. Our reinforcements are on their way and should be here any moment now." as she and Caleb found the books the young mage was ecstatic at their find, "Oh my goddess, these are amazing, I wonder if I can find a way to duplicate them. Now isn't the time though, if there's nothing else to check on here, or even if there is, we should get out of here, now."

"Priestess, there is no need to thank me. Milani saw to it that you taught me the skills at just the right time, and then I used them to her glory," Vandomir responds.
Errrr, I dunno about everyone else, but I wear my silver bandana mask on missions. I'm pretty sure I even mentioned it in the fight upstairs.
It's crazy good RP timing that Rowan just taught Vandomir to use the wand though! Works out well in the story.

yeah, I thought we were all wearing Silver Raven disguises on these missions so one escaped guard didn't get us all killed. Caleb's been avoiding real names for the same reason.

I was under the understanding that you were all wearing old-style western bank-robbers masks (silver of course). You know, the type that covers the bottom half of your face.
Please confirm.
It seems everyone wants to leave quickly so I'll get everyone back to the Coffeehouse later this evening unless I hear otherwise. I'll of course leave room for ongoing roleplaying.
Oh, you're all 4th level so congrats!
In addition to letting me know what changed, like we did last time, I'm going to ask everyone to please post your PC sheets in the format that I'm using for my Iron Gods Game. See any of the players there for an example.
We'll also have to work on bringing your wealth level up to where it should be so please give me personal total of your items in the sheet as well.

Hey, what happened to the Callistrian whip and stuff? I know I had it on the doc loot sheet for me, is that why it went off the loot table you put on the bottom of the document?
Well, quickly only that we know how close she was to winning, and don't know how long it'll take her to get backup.
I'm thinking if there's 10 or so of us (inc backup) then we could carry quite a few randomly chosen books. Even if we don't have time to choose carefully, that's useful.
Given how crazy expensive books can be in some games, how many pounds of books are likely in the libraries here, please?
Given they were almost certainly looking for something, and it might be useful to us, more time would be good. I think it might be worth a quick look around here for an escape route we could use.
FOURTH level? SECOND level spells? See Tillia, I AM a real caster!

Remembered that the Asmodeans were 'redacting' the books they found. Once the books were redacted, they were sent to another facility.
The books still here are the ones listed in the loot table (12 soul tomes) and other books which weigh 15 pounds and are worth 900 gp.
Speaking of loot table... yes, the idea is that once an item has either been claimed or sold, I remove it from the list and it goes to a PC sheet or as general funds (top of the list).
As you can see, I need to do some upkeep on that loot list. :)

My total value in gear is roughly 4400 counting the flasks and mundane gear (4350 is in scroll/potions/other magic items), of that 2500 is the ring of swimming which is nice to have but not really necessary, a pearl of power 1st level at 1000 which is really nice, and then the rest is pretty much a potion and multiple scrolls. Given the time several of the scrolls are going into my spell book and will be gone but I can always make more of them. Remember folks that I also took craft wondrous item last level so I can start making things for us. also keep in mind that anything using the necromancy or transmutation schools I will have a stiff penalty due to my inability to cast spells of those schools at all (not considered on my class list due to archetype).

Masks… could be. I blame Eirik for being hurt and mentally drained for forgetting ;^) Though wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the mask hag gone flying mid-battle.
Gear-wise... Eirik doesn’t really care about any of the unallocated items on the list. The Soul Tomes he could use, but those are not the kind of stuff one drags around, and should in my opinion be seen as party treasure, usable by whoever needs them.
Eirik’s gear value is 1200 (rounding up to be sure to cover the miscellaneous little items (whetstones, needle & thread, etc.), but if you count the Silver Raven figurine, that goes up to 3100.
The “Eye gem” on the loot list appears unidentified… was it magical?

The 'eye gem' was not magical.
We need to get everyone up to approx. 6,000 gp and I agree that the tomes should not be part of that count.
So let's roleplay out getting items that will bring you guys up to that total. Come up with a wish list and a plausible way for obtaining the items.

For Eirik...
- Amulet of Mighty Fists +1, where the +1 is used for one of the elemental damage special abilities (4000GP)
Failing that, wish list would consist of:
- Belt of incredible dexterity +2 (4000GP)
- Amulet of natural armor +1 (2000GP)
- Ring of protection +1 (2000GP)
There are quite likely other interesting items, but those I can name out of hand.

Let's do it. I approve.
What are you going to be? The flaming monk? The electric monk? :)
Write an IC post about how you acquired this item.
Did some master hear about you defeating the Asmodean monks and gifted this to you?
Did the Thrune monks send their champion to ambush/challenge you and you took it from his/her dead body?
Other?

Eirik Clausen |

Ooh! I like that. Hopefully you won't write up the turn tomorrow - might take a moment to write up a decent post ;^)
**EDIT** Got an inspiration for that, and it also decides Eirik's Ki power: we shall go with Ki Metabolism. Which is imba in its own way... for example, Eirik now has to take exactly one breath of air per day to survive, which is totally bonkers but overpowered in only very, very specific circumstances, of which I intend to use one in the amulet acquisition post **EDIT**

Tillia |

How should the scrolls count into my wealth, they're disposable and will be vanishing soon
Also do you guys want to consider the ring of swimming as a communal thing?
And "one moooore thing", how much downtime are we going to have, I'm thinking I might try to make an item for myself if I can scrounge the money, likely an int headband.

Tillia |

It's a shame if no one can, glaives are pretty good weapons, and it's a good point. I'd almost suggest the same with that ring but it might actually be really useful someday. I supose part of it depends on just how much we actually have after selling everything off. That Redjills fiasco really hurt us on the wealth per level front.
*Edit
Vandomir at least can use the glaive as it's a martial weapon. Not sure about Rowan.

Even if I do recap to keep things moving, I intend that the next few posts feature the 'Silver Ravens' as a group so I won't send the PCs out on a any 'adventure' any time soon.
Caleb reached out to you guys a few posts back for ideas on what should be done by the Ravens next so IC discussion about that would be great RPing.
I look forward to what you come up with.

You know I'm not into micromanaging wealth so let's not worry about that.
The Red Jills fiasco is only there to fuel RP opportunities and not to punish you guys on a 'wealth level'.
Let's get everyone at approx. 6,000 gp and we'll 'sell the rest'.

Scrolls count as wealth (same as potions).
I'll defer about the ring. If it's communal, I'll divy up the 'cost' and allocate the cost to everyone.
How much downtime do you guys want? I was thinking 2-3 weeks...

Action 1
“Nox was the last person I expected to see here. Why would Thrune have sent her here?”
Nodding his thanks to the priestess for her timely healing, the monk stared at his torn and bloodied outfit in disgust. "Who can say? Perhaps she just happened to be here, observing the progress of the Asmodeans," Eirik hazarded, though it would make for quite the dose of bad luck on their part, if they could have avoided the deadly woman simply by delaying their assault by a few hours. "And, by the Judge, she was strong. Were it not for your blessings," he nodded at Rowan, "or your arrows," another nod, this time towards Vandomir, "she would be walking over our corpses now. And you," the monk said, giving Caleb a sidelong glance, "that was both brave and foolish, distracting her like that. But you have my thanks; the luck that turned the orge's spear seems to be holding still."
Action 2
He sobbed, “I’m sorry but we couldn’t stop her. She just appeared through a black hole and took us by surprise.” He shook his head, “She then stepped through another oval and just disappeared…”
"She was a foe of rare skill," Eirik murmured, one hand tracing the outline of Abadar's Key on his chest to lament the fallen. "All of us together barely forced her to flee; there is no shame in losing to her."

Okies… amulet acquisition post coming right up… This might work better a bit later, but felt motivated so will post in now. If you want to include it in a later turn summary, that’s completely OK
Kintargo, Yolubilis Harbor, evening
Carrying an armful of bulging packets of baked goods, Eirik made his way back from Bleakbridge, lost in thought as he navigated through the rapidly thinning crowds - the day was soon done and everyone who had got up at the break of dawn were heading for their homes or a friendly tavern, and the people of the moonlit streets were only just preparing to set out for their night shifts. The weather, full of the promise of rain, further encouraged citizens to seek shelter, leaving the streets unusually empty.
Eirik didn’t mind the damp, although he hurried his pace slightly, glancing at the heavy clouds hovering seemingly almost within reach, trying for a moment to predict how much time he had. He would rather not have the breads and sweetmeats he had purchased from a baker who had come to value Eirik as a customer be rained on. The effort was futile, naturally - had he grown up on the farm he had been born in, he would no doubt have learned to listen to the wind, but such skills had been of no use in the monastery. Not that he bore any ill will to his parents for giving him away - life of a farmer could be hard, and no matter what Eirik had lost by not getting to know his true family as he grew up with them, he had gained equally in the trade.
How many of his brothers and sisters knew their letters and numbers? How many could name the past ten rules of their lands? How many knew how to defend themselves in the dangerous world?
’How many needed to?’ Eirik asked himself, sighing. The life of a farmer was rarely easy and often unpredictable, trusting to the fates for good weather, but rarely did anyone try to kill you for being a farmer. Not in Andoran. He, on the other hand, seemed to be running from one danger to his life to another. Although to be fair, that was a decent addition to his life.
Not that he minded, truly. Their cause was good, worth risking one’s life for, and he was doing so in good company. Diverse of opinion they were, often arguing about methods or direction, yet nevertheless working well together under pressure. And he was learning so much from them, of them, and of himself.
Something made Eirik snap out of his reverie. A sight? A sound? He could not say, except he knew something was wrong that had not been a moment ago. The monk stopped before a store’s window, making a show of peering at the wares displayed beyond the glass pane, yet he was more interested in the reflection. Was that man stopping to avoid running into the one he tailed? No, a moment later he turned to greet a woman, gathering her up in his arms before leading her away, holding hands. Merely a young suitor waiting for his lady love. Another shape caught his eye, yet it was a woman he had seen often enough napping on the doorstep of his store - seeing her there now was no reason to worry. Yet he could not shake the feeling, now a certainty, that he had eyes on him.
Adopting an appearance of nonchalance, Eirik continued on, but took a left at the next intersection. If he was imagining the whole thing, he should be able to determine if someone was trailing him eventually, and in the meantime, he would not be leading a potential shadow to their hiding place. He made his way in the general direction of the ruins of the Trashing Badger, moving more determinedly as the first drops of rain began to fall. Yet still the feeling of being followed persisted.
Assured of the danger now, Eirik took a sudden right into a narrow side street and sprung into action. Dropping his bundles, the monk leapt on top of a crate, to reach the edge of the roof 12 feet over the street. With speed and grace that belied his bulk he raised himself on the roof and crouched there for an eyeblink, deciding on which way to start, yet even that small delay cost him.
Catching a flicker in the corner of his eye, Eirik spun just in time to deflect aside a pair of throwing knives cast at his back. Yet the blades were merely a diversion, and a figure if red and black robes was already upon him, a short-shafted spear in either hand, yet it was a kick he aimed at Eirik.
Reacting without thought, the Abdarian-Irorian monk retaliated. Thrush in the Thicket turned aside the kick, but the attacker spun like a dervish and Eirik barely avoided the whiplike slashes of the two spears. The enemy kept sliding his hands up and down the shafts, making it difficult for Eirik to predict the reach of his strikes. Shake Dew from the Branches was turned aside something that resembled Folding the Air, and from that one move he knew his foe. An Asmodean monk, yet skilled like the foes he had faced before had not been.
The man acknowledged Eirik’s expression, eyes widening in recognition, with a tiny bow of his head, then proceeded to almost remove Eirik’s with a Low Wind Rising. Unable to avoid the high kick, Eirik had to settle for blocking and staggered a step at the unexpectedly heavy blow, the strength in the strike belying the man’s relatively light build. Not that it was easy to determine anything past his height past his billowing robes.
Oak Shakes its Branches met Lotus Closes Its Blossom and was turned aside, then Eirik staggered under an onslaught of blows. Feather in the Wind into Wind and Rain into Parting the Silk. Eirik turned aside the first and parried the second, but when he tried to counter, the third nearly ended the battle again, the leaf-like blade of a spear cutting a shallow wound right across his chest. Striking the Spark stopped a combination move Eirik didn’t know the name for, but left him open for Kissing the Adder. The headbutt broke his nose with a crack that sounded thunderous in Eirik’s ears, stunning him for a moment. He fully expected to die that moment, but his Asmodean foe had stopped, awaiting him to clear his head while tapping one foot on the slates in exasperation.
”You need to do better than that, murderer,” the man sighed, crossing his arms over his chest, his hands gripping the spears just under the blades. ”Was this the level of skill that ended the lives of my brothers? If so, they almost deserve their fate. Almost. Did you know Lucius was to be wedded tomorrow? That Marceno had a year-old daughter? Would you care?”
Without waiting for Eirik’s answer the enemy closed the distance, launching into another combination attack Eirik barely defended against, until the halt of a spear struck when he expected to be hit with the blade. The hard wood cracked against his temple, drawing a trickle of blood. A burst of wholly unexpected energy followed, flowing from the weapons into his body, staggering him. Eirik wobbled, dodging an Arc of the Moon less by intention but rather by not having his head where he himself would have expected, as his feet almost folded under him. He raised a hand to probe his temple, and was surprised to feel blisters and charred skin under his fingers.
Again, the Asmodean stepped back, stopping his own attack to shake his head sadly at his opponent. ”Pitiful. At least you do not lack for will, but stubbornness is no substitute for skill. Do you have any last words? Any family I should carry word of your passing to? Not that you thought to do even that much for the people you killed, I expect. Too busy emptying their pockets, I imagine. You may be delighted to hear it cost me a month’s pay to loose enough tongues to find someone who had got a good look at you and your rebel friends leaving the scene of crime. Money well spent, though. Know that I will take no satisfaction of your death, but it is something I owe my brothers:” The man assumed an offensive stance, and Eirik could now see tiny tendrils of lightning crawling up and down the spear shafts. ”Any last words?”
”Goodbye,” Eirik muttered, already spinning around and sprinting away as fast as his thick legs could propel him.
The Asmodean monk’s mouth opened in surprise, but he recovered quickly, giving chase.
Fast the man might be, but Eirik matched him in speed. Almost. What he lacked he made up in acrobatics, jumping from rooftop to rooftop more easily than his pursuer. Yet that left his back open. After the first knife embedded itself in his left shoulder he added random dodges into his rush, avoiding the following four thrown blades, after which his pursuer seemed to run out of projectiles. Which was for the good, because the dodging and weaving had allowed the man to narrow the distance.
Eirik was beginning to worry, as the waterfront came into view. He was running out of roofs, heading in the direction he had chosen, and if he turned right now his pursuer cut cut him off, getting close enough to force the confrontation. And Eirik didn’t fancy his chances against the man - it was obvious the man was a master of his art.
He was still considering his rapidly diminishing options when a sharp pain lanced into his back, just under his right shoulder. ’The spear! He had thrown it!’ Lurching in the unexpected pain, a slate under Eirik’s boot came loose and there was nothing the monk could do except tuck in his shoulder and brace himself. Riding a cascade of falling slates, the heavyset man slammed on the wharfs, his injured shoulder leading. The impact jarred the spear from Eirik’s back and almost made him black out. Rolling with the force of impact, he fell into the murky waters in a cloud of bubbles of escaping breath.
***
Landing lightly, Pavelius leaned down to pick up his fallen spear, inspecting the pool of blood on the wharf, then crouched down to peer into the water. The stream of bubbles had stopped, and there was no sign of movement. The monk waited patiently, counting seconds under his breath.
”...five hundred and seventeen,” Frowning, he stopped his count, taking a final look around. There was no way the man could have been holding his breath this long, not the way he had been expelling bubbles on his way down. There was nothing to hide under, and the corner of the wharfs was a long way away. Too far away for a man to dive, with his lungs burning for breath - assuming one could tell one direction from another in the dark soup the dock workers deigned to call water. No bubbles marking the location of a diver biding his time.
”Drowning… not the end I had chosen, but good enough for a killer, I suppose” Pavelius muttered. ”Will you sleep lighter now, brothers, knowing you have been avenged?” A flicker of white under the surface drew his attention. The sash the man had worn? Settling for that meager trophy, Pavelius leaned over to catch the strip of silk with his spear…
And opened his mouth in alarm as a ham-sized fist closed around the shaft and pulled.
Caught off guard, the Asmodean tumbled into the bay, dirty water stinging his eyes, feeling strange hands looking for grips, finding them, twisting.
Conscious of the little air he had managed to gulp before being dragged under, Pavelius fought for his life, grappling and striking, though he quickly realized the water around them blunted his blows. He fought for hold, found his arms around the rebel monk’s throat, and squeezed.
Sad brown eyes looked up at his face, ever as thick arms wrapped around his chest, met behind his back, and squeezed, forcing the breath from his lungs even as he realized no bubbles escaped his opponent’s lips.
’He’s not breathing? How…?’
***
Minutes later, Eirik dragged himself onto a ramp leading into the bay, where small boats could be rolled out on dry land for repairs. He was gasping, but more from the stabs of pain from his wounds than from loss of breath. Funny, that. He had pursued the metabolism technique more for a chance to gain more hours in a day for work, but now that he had finally perfected it, it had saved his life.
With his right hand hanging limp - the wound, the landing and the exertion under the water had left it feeling wrenched out of its socket, Eirik grasped something still submerged and dragged it out after him. The body of the Asmodean who had sought his life. To avenge his fallen friends. The ones Eirik and his friends had killed. To avoid being themselves slain. The circle of death expanding, feeding upon itself.
Feeling unshed tears burning his eyes, the living monk sat next to his dead kin and thought dark thoughts, of death and loss and of the mad world that forced one upon the other.

Yes, I've been called a lenient GM at times but I get paid in 'stories'. :)
And yes, I think I'll save this for a little later in game time so it will come out in the next couple of turns but feel free to adjust your PC sheet now so we can get it over with.

He sobbed, “I’m sorry but we couldn’t stop her. She just appeared through a black hole and took us by surprise.” He shook his head, “She then stepped through another oval and just disappeared…”
Rowan moved towards Forvian and echoed Eirik's words of condolences. "Milani has smiled on you this day so that we can continue the good fight against such evil. Let me help you with your shoulder." When Forvian nodded, Rowan used the wand on him. She saw the signs of pain disappear from his face but grief was still prevalent. We're going to need another one of these wands if our last couple of adventures prove to be the norm.

We're going to need another one of these wands if our last couple of adventures prove to be the norm.
I remember that our old Carrion Crown game had 'common items', whose costs were shared by all equally.
We could do the same here but I need someone to come up with a list of common items...

Rowan Drovenge |

I posted a rough upgrade for Rowan to level 4 under her profile which wasn't there before. I still would like to get her better armor which I haven't changed yet. Since she has the wisdom headband, I changed her wisdom score to 18 and thus her wisdom modifier as well. Let me know if there was anything done incorrectly.
Since she got a few new abilities this level up, I'll try to write a post about it but she may also contribute it to her visit from the dragon when she almost died.

Tillia |

Action 1
Good on this one.
Action 2
as they arrived at the street level Tillia saw Forvian over the body of one of his people sobbing and walked up to him. Gently she laid a hand on his shoulder and said, "I'm sorry for your loss. If I'd known that she'd flee I'd never have had Selina signal you to come and help us. I just hope you can forgive me for that."
Action 3
When they finally arrived back at the coffee house Tillia immediately sought out Rexas and said, "I'm afraid we have bad news Rexus." She took a deep breath and then said, "I'm sorry, but the redactors had gotten there first along with Nox, they were in the process of destroying the information and I'm afraid your mother didn't survive." She hesitated a moment, trying to decide what all to say and decided to continue, "They raised her body as a zombie but we put her body back to rest, the only thing I can tell you that might hep with your suffering is that not all of the knowledge was destroyed, we found several soulbooks that hadn't been destroyed yet and brought them back, it might be possible that your mother was the author of one of them."
She reached into a pocket and pulled out the rings, "We also found these, this one was on your mother's body when we found her, I thought you might like to have it." Her eyes were full of tears by now and she took his hand and placed the ring in it, "We're going to debrief everyone on what happened soon, do you want to come to it?" She looked at him sadly, "You don't have to if you don't want to, and I'll stay with you for a while if you want," she hesitated, "Or you can come find me if you want to talk later."

I'm happy to make a list of everyone's items, including who holds what and whose 'account' it counts against. I'm good with spreadsheets.

That's good, because Eirik's posts keep intimidating me. Dang dude, that's amazing.
-
Caleb can only use Psychic scrolls (as opposed to Arcane and Divine), and they're really rare in Cheliax.
-
RE: Red Jills: Everyone but Caleb was keen. Caleb doesn't want to break the agreed truce. Remember that he's only CE when it comes to THRUNE.

@Tillia: Do you want CC to get Mage Armour instead of Feather Fall so you don't have to keep casting it?

I have a spreadsheet from an old game. Let me know if you want it or you would rather start from scratch.
Thanks.
I won't change Eirik's choice but how do you guys feel about giving me three preferred items and then me rolling to see which one is available. We could even weigh the odds (50% item 1, 30% item 2, and 20% item 3).
Thoughts?
Game on!

I'm good with providing 3 preferred items.

Fabian Benavente |

You mean somehow we obtain the rolled item or they'll appear sometime soon?
Once the item is determined, you would still have to write an IC post about how you acquired it.
In a normal adventure you would not normally have this option so I thought it sort of made more sense to add a little variety in the mix.
I guess I am trying to avoid you guys to go for the box six magic items and get creative.

I'm thinking maybe Caleb assassinates someone as revenge for Fovian's man. Do we have a name for him?

Sheet is here
ONLY TOUCH THE MASTER LIST everything else will update automatically
There is a sheet/tab for each character, plus one for the coffeehouse.
Everything can have an Owner and a Holder.
Anything whose Owner is marked NONE, Coffeehouse or For Sale will be shared among every character's WBL.
Weight is the Weight of the things in your list.
I've put some comments in for you Fabian. Click on 'Comments' to see them. I've started to copy your loot sheet across from the turn, but only up to the dispel magic scroll.
Should be able to sort the sheet however you want - note that it sorts for EVERYONE.
List only holds 200 for now - easy to expand, but that seemed like a lot.
If people want I can put the list in Paizo Board format or something.

Action 1
... And you,"[/b] the monk said, giving Caleb a sidelong glance, "that was both brave and foolish, distracting her like that. But you have my thanks; the luck that turned the orge's spear seems to be holding still."
Caleb shrugged and flushed at the praise, then turned and gestured at Tillia "Not luck - Tillia's spell. Better than armour anyday, I reckon."
Action 2
"We're lucky to be alive." Caleb asserted. "He wasn't." He swallowed the bitter taste in his mouth and crouched to the dead man. "He's beyond help then?" he asked, and frowned "He'll have vengeance. Someone for now. Nox one day, though."
Action 3
With permission
Caleb turned the strange Glaive over in his hands, then stopped, shocked. "This mark. I know this mark. Darkwater, smith up at the Highwall market. I heard he somehow got the power to start enchanting - guess I know where he got it from now." Caleb snarled "Arming THRUNE. Bad mistake, Darkwater."

Thank you for that.
I'll take a close look later tonight.

Character sheet altered, I think the format is about what you preferred. Took one point from Escape Artist to invest in Intimidate... did you allow Retraining this time around, by the way? If so, Eirik's investment could bear fruit as soon as next level ;^)
One point swap is no concern so that's fine.
So what did you get from the Asmodean monk?

You know what, I think I'll take your spreadsheet and become the owner of it. It's been my experience that too many owners means no one keeps up with it.
So this is what I need from everyone:
1) comnplete list of what you own (alchemical items, and MW items and above, I don't want to know about your rations or similar stuff) and add those items up;
2) complete list of what you carry (your own stuff plus maybe some communal stuff). Again, not concerned about weight encumbrance unless it seems totally out of whack.
3) by default, I'll get a lit of 'communal items'.
I'll then allocate the portion of the communal stuff and the stuff you own and subtract it from 6,000 gp. Whatever is remaining may be used by each person to buy more personal stuff.
Remember that if it's not on this list, you don't have it.
Let's try and get this done in the next 48 hours along with your PC sheets.
