GM Goblin King
You walk a dusty trail towards town. Sure enough, a gang of orcs approaches, and asks what you're doing here.
You pay tax to go to town, says the biggest one, rather imperially.
The Cap'n says, Tark, would you be so kind as to slay a few of these buggers? Maybe they'll leave us alone, then.
He doesn't mess around! The orcs ready their great axes and bows, unafraid of the big blue fellow and his puny goblins, and growl in anger.
Round 1:
Velag
Stix
Tark
orcs
Bucko
Cap'n
Velag Wordeater
Velag chuckles, "We pay tax in orc blood? heheheh" He draws his blades as he takes a 5' step forward, mentally judging any orc that would get in his way too stupid to live.
One he moves forward, he drives his left and right swords into the two orcs within his reach.
Left Hand, Attack #1: +1 Frost Shortsword 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 for 1d4 + 2 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 3 + (6) = 14 {destruction judgement, frost}
Right Hand, Attack #1: +1 Shortsword 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 ... Possible Crit -> Confirmation roll: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19 {19's usually good against a grunt orc, but I'm not sure, so...}
For either (normal): 1d4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 3 = 6 {destruction judgement} or (critical): 2d4 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 2 + 6 = 12
Left Hand, Attack #2: +1 Frost Shortsword 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 for 1d4 + 2 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 3 + (6) = 15 {destruction judgement, frost}
Right Hand, Attack #2: +1 Shortsword 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 ... also a possible Crit -> Confirmation roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 {9 is probably a failed confirmation...}
For (normal): 1d4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 3 = 8 {destruction judgement}
He cackles as he strikes, asking, "That enough, or is tax bigger?"
Stix Gibber
Stix smiles and quickly volleys the big' o fools.
Shot 1 manyshot at one:1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26 For:2d6 + 24 ⇒ (1, 2) + 24 = 27
Shot 2 and 3 going at a separate orc
Shot 2:1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18 For:1d6 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Shot3:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18 For:1d6 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Velag Wordeater
S'only 49 points and took 4 hits and a crit to get there -- Tark hits that hard in one shot.. A'course, if I'd have been expecting trouble, I'd have a divine favour up for even more fun.
GM Goblin King
S'only 49 points and took 4 hits and a crit to get there -- Tark hits that hard in one shot.. A'course, if I'd have been expecting trouble, I'd have a divine favour up for even more fun.
You picked the nastiest one! LOL! He should have hit you, too, but I rolled crap.
GM Goblin King
The orcs are easily grappled and dispatched with the quickness.
Cap'n notes the fine axe held by the one Velag fought. A keen edge. This is worth a bit, I'd say.
I need a Tark replacement, but we'll play him until we find someone.
Velag Wordeater
Velag nods, "We take that, then. Help get gooder stuffses."
He then chuckles, "Also, since we here, maybe thems want to trade for gear to equip a pack of orc soldiers?"
GM Goblin King
The leftenants are watching the ship. Cap'n says, I can sell that. A nice little bonus we can all share.
We're going to see a man who goes by the name of "Jinxy." Be on your guard, goblins. Folk here aren't particularly friendly. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.
You approach an ancient walled city, long past its prime, inhabited mostly by orcs, now. The gate is guarded by another gang of orcs, who give way when they see Cap'n Renyldz.
Once inside, you see long lines of human slaves chained together, herded about by orcs, gnolls, giants and other scary sorts.
Take care, lest we find ourselves in chains, as well.
You meander through the town, stopping at the walls of a beautiful villa. The gate is guarded by a pair of minotaurs.
You know who I am. I'm here to see Jinxy, he says.
After a few minutes, another pair of the horned beasts appears. They escort you into a grand hall.
GM Goblin King
Cap'n R. smiles a little at Bucko's comment.
The foyer has some decorations, but Jinxy's hall is opulent. Not that you would know the difference, but this guy's doing ok. It's illuminated by sculpted braziers, and there are big paintings on the wall. It's a strange place, given the surrounding neighborhood.
He stands at the end of a huge table. There are piles of gold and gems, various objects d'art, and a few bottles of fancy booze sitting on the table at his end.
Ah, Captain Renyldz. So good to see you. Won't you and your bodyguard have a seat and a drink? says the well-dressed, slightly chubby fellow at the end of the table.
He claps his hands twice. Wine for our guests, Orin. There's a good orc. And bring some salt for the little folk. They like salt with everything.
The orc at his side leaves. He eyes the tall mercane.
I've seen you with all manner of folk, but goblins? I must admit, the contrast is amusing.
GM Goblin King
I'll assume, since you haven't tried to kill me yet, that you have my money.
He points to a painting on the west wall. If not, I'll take that Romopl there, and we'll call it good.
The mercane smiles a lot, but he smiles bigger, now.
The contrast is amusing.
Reta Bigbad
Reta looks crankily at the human as she's unable to understand a single word. Turning to the other goblins, "WHAT FAT HUMAN SAY? RETA NOT UNDERSTAND FAT HUMAN. WHY HE HAVE SO MANY BULL PEOPLE? MAYBE HE EAT BULL PEOPLE, AND THAT'S WHY HE FAT HUMAN. HE NOT AS FAT AS FAT SLORB THOUGH. FAT SLORB REAL FAT."
Velag Wordeater
Velag says, in Common, "Me only put salt on Human or Elf. Unless you offering, we fine."
He then winces as Reta starts yelling and turns to her,"Fat human think we want salt. I fix. Now him want to make trades with Captain. It pretty boring, really."
Reta Bigbad
"SALT? ALL THIS HUMAN SPEAK FOR SALT AND TRADES? THIS IS BORING TALK. NOT FUN TALK FOR RETA. RETA WANT FUN STUFF TO DO! WHEN FUN STUFF?!" She crosses her arms and pouts. "CAPTAIN NEED HURRY UP WITH BORING STUFF." She huffs. Another thought then crosses her mind, "GOOD FIX ON SALT. SALT ONLY GOOD ON HUMANS AND ELVES." She nods affirmatively as she waits for the boring trade to conclude.
Bucko Rackingclaw
"Capn says fat human oweses money, maybe bad dareses or bets, or likeses gameses, but he says pay or he wantses pictureses on wall."
Bucko sniffs the air...
"Yous ones tah talk you has stinky orcses wit no brains an cow-men, we wantses eatses cow-man!"
pauses dramatically
"wit salt."
Reta Bigbad
1 person marked this as a favorite.
"WHY WANT STOOPID PICTURES FROM FAT HUMAN? RETA NO LIKE STOOPID PICTURES. NO PICTURES OF RETA SO RETA NO WANT. CAPTAIN NEED PICTURE OF RETA. RETA'S CUTE." She smiles bashfully as her pointed, unbrushed, gremlin-like teeth show. Instantly snapping back into pout mode, "RETA AGREE WITH VELAG, THIS PLACE BORING." As she notices Bucko sniffing the air, her look turns feral. "YOU SNIFF DOGS, BUCKO?" She sniffs the air herself as she looks around the room, hoping there are some nearby that she can mutilate.
Reta Bigbad
Realizing there are no dogs nearby, she ponders what to do next while the two traders speak boring gibberish. An idea hits her as she reaches in her pack--her tongue sticking out the corner of mouth as she concentrates on what she's digging for--and pulls out her favorite pet. "SPOTOL!" She smiles grandly as she puts him down on the ground and pushes him so he'll hop away and she can give chase. Reta giggles as the toad manages to slip through her fingers a time or two before catching him; and then she lets him go again and begins the game anew.
GM Goblin King
I see your guardians haven't been house trained.
Cap'n R. is still smiling. They're good at what they're needed for. And, no, I don't think they've studied art.
Now, about that payment.
Jinxy laughs. You know, Captain, I didn't accumulate all these things by giving my money away to just anyone. I get value for what I spend. You'll notice most of my orcs are gone. I've upgraded. These brutes eat a lot, but they're not too finicky as to what.
You walk in here with 4 little goblins and think you can make demands of me? You're either desperate, or a fool.
Place yourselves on the MAP.
Velag Wordeater
Velag looks at the fat man, "You not see all orc gear we take from idiots try stop us coming in here just few minnits ago? You even dumber than Orcses was... Me judge you be too stoopit to live."
He looks at Captain, "We keep stuff after killses them, right? hehehehe"
He blinks for a moment as a thought occurs to him, Themses not speak Common... and says in Goblin, "Reta and Stix? It slice-dice-choppy-choppy-killy-fun time!"
GM Goblin King
Jinxy suddenly disappears. This is apparently a signal to the rest, as they immediately prepare to attack. There is a great deal of snorting and greataxe grabbing as the light armored minotaurs prepare to make goblin stew.

Velag Wordeater
Having pronounced his judgement, Velag calls upon the Grey Master to help his swords make even nastier fun. He then draws his blades and cackles at the Minotaurs and their greataxes, "Cows have axes instead of bells. S'okay, me likeses steaks."
Swift Action: Activate Judgement (Destruction {+3 damage}, Protection {+2 profane bonus to AC})
Standard action: Cast Divine Favor
Move action: Draw swords, taunt the cow
Reta Bigbad
Reta is taken aback as she sees Bucko fly straight into the air. Confused as to what's happening, she looks to the others for clarification. As Velag translates, Reta's eyes narrow as her anger has taken the place of her boredom. Turning toward Jinxy and realizing he's gone, she quickly turns her attention to the nearest minotaur...
GM Goblin King
I thought we'd let Reta get busy and have a little fun. She can slaughter all the minotaurs she likes, but toad abuse is where I draw the line!
Stix Gibber
Sorry for delay. This has been a tough week and I only just now started getting back into my games. I willl be more frequent from here on.
After the orcs Stix is content to stay quiet and watch. He was out of his element for sure. "Gonna hafta learn me soms common speak soons. Gettin teired o all dis damn blabberin ah em biggose keep spewin."
He'd have his bow ready throughout the entire transaction. If allowed He would still be mounted on Turboflex even when we enter. Since a pony is a medium creature, it doesn't take up as much space as a horse.
When Reta makes an appearance and starts shouting, Stix covers his ears. "Damn she gobbo needs ta shuts it er ma ears gonna start bleedin."
Then battle starts. "Finely! Noise I dunt mine hearin! Let's do di Turboflex!"
Turboflex:"YEAH!"
I take aim at the nearest minotaur and unleash a devastating volly.
Attack 1 w/Manyahot:1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28 For:2d6 + 24 ⇒ (5, 1) + 24 = 30
Attack 2:1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35 For:1d6 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Attack 3:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 For:1d6 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
GM Goblin King
The orc next to where Jinxy just disappeared manages to hit the Cap'n with a spell. He seems to have trouble concentrating through the pain. Your turn, Bucko.
Bucko Rackingclaw
Bucko throws a glitterdust
Minotaurs in area I 32 and L 33 on the map.
"Tha lookses like 400 pouunds o man-cows, now I adds salt an Tarks can tenderize!"
Just in case...
Concentration check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
GM Goblin King
Jinxy reappears after firing at Cap'n R, and missing. He's kneeling with cover from the table. Capn' R attempts to cast a spell, but loses it.
If anyone cares what spells are being cast, roll Spellcraft.
Reta's next.
GM Goblin King
No dice.
Oh, and Bucko blinded one of the minotaurs. 1 dead, 1 blind, everybody's visible.
Reta Bigbad
I'm going on the whim that these are 5 foot squares.
Reta steps towards the nearest minotaur, grinning maliciously while drawing her blades.
Move: Draw weapons, Free: 5' step to E 42, Standard: Attack
+1 Adamantine Dogslicer w/PS: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Damage: 1d4 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
"RETA NOT LIKE BULL-PEOPLE!" She says as she draws a nice and deep crimson line across its leg.
GM Goblin King
Now, the minotaurs.
M1 moves 5', and hits Reta with both his greataxe and his horns for only 24 damage. She got off light.
M2 Runs up and takes a swing at her, too, but the wiry goblin dodges his predictable swing.
M3 chucks a single axe at C. R., hitting him pretty good, and moves to defend Jinxy.
M4, since it's blind, doesn't bullrush Stix, and stands there blinking and pawing at its eyes.
M5 throws a big axe at Stix, hitting him for 18 damage, then closes the distance, drawing its big greataxe.
M7 also approaches Stix, goring him for 14 damage and knocking him back 10'.
M9 moves and throws an axe at C.R., too. and misses.
M10 steps forward and attacks Bucko, but misses the lil' freak.
The 2 orcs in back draw longbows, and don't hit squat.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Velag looks at the Minotaur attacking Bucko and says, "Bad cow! No grass for you!", and takes a (5') step forward to defend the witch. As he does, he wills some of the Grey Master's hatred into his sword and proceeds to turn the cow (formerly of M10) into ground chuck.

Reta Bigbad
My thought was, since a 5' step is a free action, and drawing swords is a move, they would be different. I know as a move action you can draw them for free, but seeing how a 5' step is free, I was thinking they would be 2 separate actions. But to be honest, I'm not really sure; so I went with the lesser of the two just to be on the safe side. I would've hated to roll 4 attacks and hit every single time only to find out I only get to use 1 attack. This way, in case I'm wrong, I can easily roll 3 extra attacks. So if I got it wrong, I'd love to know. :)
