"I leave th' blasted rat to ye, Jorgan!" Torgan yells to his brother as he draws his two maulaxes with lightning speed. The blonde dwarf leaps at the ogre skeleton with his maulaxes coming in for some damage. Mid-swing, he spins the axes around and lets the hammer drop.

Torgan swings his axes in a flurry. In the last moment he turns them to their blunt edge. One of his maulaxes is able to connect with the giant's femur bone, cracking it while Van slams his hammer into the other leg.

Kraygan slowly circles the giant skeleton, coming out from behind his shield for a quick swipe that is meant to give Vanderhoff an opening rather than inflict damage.

Vanderhoff reels from the blows of the skeleton, shaking his head to clear the ringing in his ears. Calling on his fervor of worship, he invokes Angraad's name, healing himself.

Feeling a tad better, he growls at the oversized skeleton and swings again. "Angraad, guide my hand!"

Stepping between the giant skeleton and Vanderhoff, Kraygan prepares to block one of the monster's claws.

@Kraygan- I would agree that it would be a common knowledge deal for skeletons.

Torgan is able to chip away a small portion of the Giant's toe with one of his axes, though he seems to be breathing a bit harder as his axes feel heavier since the rats bit him.

Van's calls on Angraad to help him. And help him he does as a small portion of Van's wounds heal. His hammer seems to be directly guided as it breaks more than one finger off on the Hill Giant's right hand.

Quickly Van takes the opportunity to step back out of it's reach as Kraygan begins to formulate a plan.

The dire rat bites back at Jorgan as the stick comes close to it.

Grunting with every impact on his shield, Kraygan survives another assault. Though his muscles feel like jelly, he knows that the giant must go down. Dropping his waraxe, he pulls a studded club from his belt and swings back with all his might.

"Should we use this oil you gave me, Kraygan?" Wren says, drawing the oil of magic weapon.

Torgan: Or maybe this (link) weapon?

Torgan sighs as the undead falls. He knows that his axes are useless agaisnt the rat, so he draws his only option: the hopeknife. He leaps forward and tries to stab the furry creature with it.

"Save it. Torgan's got somethin."

With the hopeknife looking like their only hope (heh) Kraygan moves closer, preparing to distract the rat to improve Torgan's chances of a successful strike.

Vanderhoff circles around the north, getting into a flanking position with Jorgan..Kraygan...his cousin.

Wren leaps over the biting rat as Kraygan and Van try to corral the undead rat.

Torgan leaps at it with a softly glowing dagger. Though he misses the dagger's light erupts into a bright light as it nearly blinds him with it's radiance. A deep feeling of love fills Torgan's heart, overpowering his senses he begins to weep ever so slightly.

Looking at the rat he notices that it is no longer blending in with the shadows! It no longer has the 50% concealment miss chance.

Using the dagger revealed a few new powers to Torgan. It's name is Brinya's Love. It is a +1 dagger infused with the soul of the fallen hero Rodrik Grath and the tears of his fiance Brinya Kelvar. Once per day on command, the weilder can grant the weapon ghost touch special ability for one minute. During this time, Brinya's Love sheds light equivalent to a daylight spell and the weilder gains a +3 sacred bonus to his CMD against disarm and sunder attempts directed at the hopeknife.

Sorry, I was just reaching for anything magic. I had no idea...but this is still a good reveal. We've been given few tools to handle all the shadow.

Wren shades his eyes from the light, finally seeing the rat true for the first time.

I'm just teasing. :D Since we are out of most means to deal with this rat, it was probably a good time to use it. Sad that it is once/day though. Might need something like that again.

Regarding the Hopeknife: I think this is funny in a twisted way. On one hand this might be the last shadow creature we will fight for a while. On the other hand, I really don't want to fight any more strength draining shadow creatures for a while. ;)
