Would blistering invective work against these toads? Rilka doesn’t have any extracts ready (my fault for not getting anything ready during the last rest break), so it’s not that crucial a point for this fight. For future encounters, are animals (or any beings) that don’t speak Rilka’s language “immune” from blistering invective?

From what I can tell in the spell description and the way that intimidate works, the extract should work.

What was it Stewie said? "A bullet sounds the same in every language."

Bloody perfect.

I have a busy day, but this combat is simple enough for me to update it when everybody has posted. Just waiting on Dalton.

While we're waiting, I know that Toramin brought up an issue with the movement in this terrain. Does anybody still need help understanding it?

We should get skis. They're better for this type of terrain.

Dalton mentioned feeling ill a couple of days ago. I think we should bot him if he hasn't posted by tonight.

I agree.

You should have! However, I am mostly recovered from whatever it was. Hard to tell. At any rate, I'll be up for most of the night if we're going to have a posting frenzy.

A few inquiries that have come to my attention I cannot answer I was wondering if you all might be able to shed some insight. Not really related to this particular game:

1. Leadership and the Noble Scion prestige class. Suppose you had a level 19 character which had 10 levels in NS. What level would the cohort be?

2. For the Witch's cackle/Shaman's fortune hex, what constitutes having "benefited" from the ability?

3. Suppose a Sorcerer has 8 dexterity and 8 intellect. Does this mean, barring equipment and special features, the base AC of that character is 9 and it receives only 1 skill point per level?

4. Along a similar note, a penalty of "-1 AC" applies to all AC, or just total and FF?

Many thanks!

3. Yes.

4. All (I think)

1) The abilities are similar, but separate. They are as listed.

2) Using it for its bonuses.

3) Yes.

4) Yes.

Waiting on Rilka. If she hasn't posted by this evening I'll DMPC her.

Nice rolls Toramin. These glacier toads are CR 6's, and you almost went 1v1 with it (without Rilka's damage it would still be standing).

Dalton, when you have a chance can you update your character sheet? It's two levels behind. :-p

Now comes the question of just how big Dalton really is.

I thought I just had one level to update, but I will flesh out a lot of the redundancies when I adjust it.

I do that all the time.

Let's take the ooc talk about the daily plan here to discussion. I don't want to see paragraph after paragraph of ooc talk in gameplay. However if you want to talk about it in character, feel free to do so.

Repost

Rise and travel during the hours Viktor deems best (I assume late morning to early evening). Coralla, Dalton, and Rilka quaff extracts of endure elements in the morning. We hit Toramin, Bjorkus, or Viktor with the wand if they fail a save and get fatigued. Each hour of travel Bjorkus speeds up the party with song of marching. If/when we hit an encounter, let me know so I’m aware of how many rounds of inspire he’s gotten through.

How is this for the extracts that Rilka makes each morning?
Three endure elements (Coralla, Rilka, & Dalton), One shield (Toramin). One available first level;
One blistering invective (Bjorkus), One spider climb (Toramin). Two available second level;
One available third level.

I've been binge-watching my way through True Blood. I feel like I'd enjoy the show more if roughly 80% of it wasn't filler.

Toramin Gearsmith wrote:

Don't give the snow pox. You guys have enough environmental problems without that happening.

Bjorkus wrote:

The problem with most shows, unfortunately.

Just so you know, endure elements will stop the cold damage, not the altitude fatigue.

I know but the cold damage also causes fatigue.

Bjorkus wrote:

Wow, I didn't know that (I just looked up the rules again). That's really dirty, that means it would stack with the altitude fatigue and make you exhausted. Man, these mountains are living up to their deadly reputation.

Bjorkus wrote:

Says the character who has the life span of a half-orc.

Bah. I want to post but I'm about to watch Kingsmen.

I have finals this week so my posting is going to be spotty. On the bright side that means I'll have a lot of time starting Friday, but until then I'll be on and off.

It's not stated in RAW, but I believe I'm going to use the slow suffocation rules if somebody passes out from failed altitude checks.

Not that it should actually become lethal, because even if somebody passes out you can get to lower altitudes pretty quickly. I just wanted to make sure there are actual repercussions beyond "you feel like crap for a while".

So I found this neat Bard Archetype, which led me to look up familiars. Did you guys know that the platypus is a familiar option?

Just remember to keep character/player separation. I don't need PC forces of wanton destruction in my game, I've lined up enough villains to do that.

Of the vocal variety?

A tenacious tenor of intoxicating intonation.

Yes...

No, I'm just letting you know that I don't want players who's only goal are to do whatever they want, regardless of the impact or consequences. Not that I'm saying you are, just letting you know to keep your character's goals separate from your own.

Uh, okay. Noted.

I'm basically saying I don't want CN players. Characters are fine, but not players.
