Don't sweat it, Nugats. You have plenty of tricks on your spell list that'll help. And let's face it, you, Daru and Pooka aren't the primaries here--we lead with our chin and we might get one-shot.
As for the Prison, are we trying to Sneak in or plow through hard? Might be better to sneak in and out if we can manage it, since we are in a hostile nation.
Either way, Hania, your Detect Evil might be a really good compass to help us find the bad guys, whether to try and avoid or zero in and eliminate quickly.
Detect Evil spell
60' Cone Emanation
"The spell can penetrate barriers, but 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks it."
Can use move action and maintain concentration, while our trapfinders move and actively perceive for traps...
Pooka Bladespinner |
Oh no! Feel better soon Hania!
@Daru - We do have to have some level of sneakiness - we are breaking several people out of prison who are scheduled to be executed right before their actual execution...
But also based on our intel, it seems as though there isn't much patrolling happening inside the prison. Meta gaming a little bit, but based on what we have heard so far of the Grey Gardeners, I fully expect a haunt somewhere in here. These guys seem pretty brutal...
We should be good inside the prison walls. Getting out and too the boat (assuming we get everyone and survive to that part) could get interesting.
Roland Garros |
I don't see a duration on the ghost salt, so assuming Roland applied his already to 10 arrows at the time he received it, and has those in his handy-dandy quiver.
Favian Aldori |
A few things to notify the GM about as it is feeling like combat could happen at any minute.
Favian has heightened awareness active. The current initiative bonus listed in his stat line (+18) reflects Favian expending the spell to boost his initiative, which he will always do.
Favian can make up to 5 AoOs per round. If not drawn for some reason, he can draw his weapon as part of an AoO and can make AoOs while flat-footed. If he is attacked in melee while flat-footed, he will spend a point of his arcane pool to active flamboyant arcana to use the opportune parry and riposte deed. Don't worry about rolling these unless you really want to. I can roll them after the fact, but you may have to retcon a few hits.
Desmond, his familiar, is a protector familiar. He has 3 AoOs per round to use bodyguard if Desmond is attacked. This requires an attack roll to aid his AC (which normally only fails on a 1). He will always use them on the first three attacks against Favian unless instructed otherwise.
They also have an ability that lets them share damage that one takes, giving half to the other. Again I'll let you know if I choose to use that on any given attack after the fact.
Favian has blind-fight, so he doesn't lose his dodge bonuses against invisible attacks and they don't get a bonus to attack him (but Desmond won't be able to aid).
Since we are expecting incorporeal creatures, Favian's armor and shield are force effects. So other than 1 point of natural armor, everything he has applies to incorporeal touch attacks.
Daru Apsulon |
Ghost Salt lasts until it is used--lasts until first attack with the weapon. In fact, if you purchase some and apply it to your ammo, have the GM note it on chronicle and you'll have them until used. (Don't know if that works for plot-element blanch, but that's how purchased ones work)
Also, you have 20 Ghost Salt arrows. And it sounds like Hania is going to use channel, so Pooka, why don't you apply one to your lance. Make it count! Definitely apply it before we even get to the prison.
Oh, Daru also has Combat Reflexes and Parry & Riposte. And currently has 10' of reach.

Just out of curiosity, with all the Paizo website issues etc, are we still on track to finish by the time slot-2 starts? It feels like we are running a couple weeks behind. I had signed up Roland for slot-2 and was not sure if he will make it.

Yes, this has an extended investigation area and shorter end combat scene.
Daru Apsulon |
How high are the ceilings in this place (Daru will be at least 5' off the ground, higher if she can.)
Pooka Bladespinner |
I was going to move everyone's token but then thought better of it. Don't want to be unintentionally rude.
So.. east door? I like Daru's suggestion. Vanish might work pretty well if you want to spend the charges, I wouldn't object to giving it a try.
Favian Aldori |
I'm fine with the vanish trick. Had we had time to prepare spells after the briefing I would have had invisibility, but it's not part of my default spell selection.
Nugats |
Hallo all,
Couple of things - Nugats SOP is to hang by the back of the group and fire his glass cannon. He will activate his wrist sheathes, one hand his lesser empower metamagic rod - his other hand his wand of magic missile.
Vanish idea works for me but I'm pretty stealthy as is.
GM Phoenix Kyten |
Everywhere you can see or been so far the Ceilings are 10' tall. I'll let you know when that changes.
Pooka Bladespinner |
So I see two options here - and there may be more so if you see something else throw it out here. :)
1 - Announce ourselves as agents of Pharasma, here to rid the prison of the undead threat. Take care of said threat. Somehow convince them to let us take the prisoners?? Not sure how that part would work.
2 - Buff up, and take them by surprise. Seems less sporting, and could cause issues when the bodies are found with the prisoners missing.
I love a good fight, but I would be inclined to try the less violent method first, resorting to just taking them out if we have to. Just my 2 copper - Let's figure out what we want to do and then we can all move ahead on the same page.
Nugats |
Pooka beat me to it [00c]Cyrus'ed[/ooc].
I like to put the murder in the murderhobo, but I am just as happy to diplomacize. As Nugats has 0 reason for being there, I will defer to the people that might have a case, i.e. the Pharasma group.
If not, let us "Light them up, light them up, I'm on fire ......'

Both of these are very possible solutions and have possible degrees of success vs. challenge rating.

Just want to clear up my own confusion. Are any of these baddies incorporeal? Not sure I understand completely what is going on, other than it looks like this is the group that was coming to collect the prisoners, and we might have already missed out on saving Colson.
Pooka Bladespinner |
One more question - Any idea how much longer we have? The second stage of PbP Gameday is starting Monday, and I was hoping I could squeeze this character into another game.
Thanks!

Yes, the whispy thing no one has identified yet. The others are not.

You have this and the next encounter that I have a feeling that will be fairly quick with the party comp. If we get a good pace this week, by end of week. You get through this combat I would see no issue if you need to start a second session. At this point, if people want to leave this one it would still be a full sheet per the Guide.
Hania_ |
If Nugats can get haste on Hania, she can start to smite the nearest bad thing. Her first hit will be at +28, and do 1d8+32+2d6 damage. (unless the enemy moves closer to her, in which case she can maybe get there without haste)
Also, don't forget that if you're within 10 feet of her, you get some bonuses from her auras.

Unfortunately, the rules don't allow this. The rules state that a character can only play in one game at a time.
Many session 2 games are not starting for a week or so because of the site outages, so you may be able to find a game that doesn't start until we can expect to be done.
(also, it is fine to muster for a game while your previous game finishes up. You just can't start actually playing.)
Pooka Bladespinner |
I'm all good, I'm not quitting this game. That's not my style :)
I was just asking because another table is mustering and the GM is asking how long I will be. The site outages really didn't help.
Roland Garros |
Pooka, I am in the same boat due to the website issues. Just working with the GM and if they get too far along then I will not be able to join.
Favian Aldori |
I'm going to bring Hania and Daru in close with me. I assume Roland doesn't want to go.
Favian Aldori |
I'm going to dim door us right next to the executioner.
GM Phoenix Kyten |
I forsee this being done between tonight and tomorrow sometime. I have the sheets all set minus what the last encounter changes. For those who are looking to join session two.

Are the big circles the crowds? Trying to get a sense for how I can maneuver here.

Yes Big circles are the crowds.
GM Phoenix Kyten |
I'm posting these up for you all, as nothing else here on out has any mechanical or reporting issues (unless your all planning on dumping Colson in the river after saving him) - and I know some of you are starting new games as well.
Feel free to RP out getting back to the boat, I'll still have Colson and the other NPCs respond as needed but I'm not wanting to hold people back since I know some have session two starting.

Thanks GM for running.
Quick question do I get anything for Rolling a 20
Roland Garros |
Thanks for running GM. I tried the chronicle and downloaded. While it looks fine, it seems odd on how it is printing and is cut off. Most likely it could be something on my side. Is anyone else having an issue?

Check your PM I just sent - I need your email so they can send it to you.

What are you using to open it? Acrobat and Google Drive are both displaying it properly.
Also what is cutting off? I might be able to tweek it so it's not.

Ah, disregard. It seems it was an issue within Chrome. I reloaded and then opened directly in Acrobat and it printed correctly the next time.
Thanks again! :)

The Advantage/Disadvantage of being listed as a VA is your email is still listed on the site

OK, I'll have to keep an eye out for it. I don't use that account as my primary any longer as I was having issues where I couldn't access it for days at a time.
GM Uktar |
Thanks a heap for running, Kyten. Daru is now my second PC to save her Venture Captain (my Silver Crusader used Breath of Life to save Ollysta Zadrian...right after she fired the biggest weapon in the world. Best. Day. EVER.)
And thanks to all of you for a fun run (outages aside).
See you on the boards!
