This is a new game for all of us. While Slack will be the likely go to, I suspect we'll use this tab more for this campaign than others.

Hey everyone, so I'm actually FULLY prepped to run this. I would say that this AP is likely 1/2 the length of a Pathfinder AP.

That being said, I don't have the bandwidth yet. I've got to get through this PbP Game Day, then do the VL thing at a convention in VT.

SO, the start date of Dead Suns will be 6 November, 2017.

There is no player's guide for this AP, and you can either know each other or not. Couple that with us learning a new rules system together, and I'll say that you can spend all the time you want between now and character creation!

Cool. I'm thinking I'll have the most fun playing someone who likes to hack things. Still got to pick up my book though (which is at the FLGS)

Cool. No idea what I want to play yet. Will try to figure that out soon.

I hope to come up with an idea later today or tomorrow. November 6 will be tough for me as I'll be in Japan that week. I will do my best to make some sort of post each day that week.

I am leaning heavily towards a Mechanic

As you think about race and class, also MAKE SURE you think about your starship roll.

So far I've had a great experience with starship combat because everyone was quick to fill in their roll competently by trusting others. I've heard horror stories of parties that didn't get along trying to run a ship.

That being said, here is my take:

1. Pilot: This goes to someone who is a master of tactical board games. A wrong move here is a VERY BAD thing.

2. Captain: This one is going to take some practice via PbP, still working through ideas since the captain can act in any phase. This is likely the least exciting job, but the boost can be a life saver.

3. Science/Engineering: This job should go to the strategic. Many choices which affect not just now, but the future.

4. Gunner: Blow it up man.

I plan on making an Operative. The best starship role for me would be Pilot but I can also be an Engineering backup.

Nothing wrong with Pilot for Aaron. He's got plenty of tactical board game experience.

So, y'know, no pressure.

Gunnery roles rely on your BAB, and I'm planning to be a Solarion, a full BAB class. I can be primary gunner.

Good point. Yea, my role will be decided a little later once everyone else gets an idea on what they want to play.

Ok, I think I'm all set. Now, the long wait begins.

I'll start sooner, but I need 3 games to wrap up first. It can be any three, but I need 3.

Hey guys, starting from about 2100 EST tonight until Saturday noon, I'm in 1 post per day territory. I'll try to make that post in the afternoon so others have enough time. By Saturday night I'll be back to normal.

My schedule through next week is iffy at best.

I'll be offline from this afternoon until Monday morning, likely not checking games.

I'll be hear at full strength Monday until Tuesday afternoon.

I'll be pretty much completely offline from Tuesday 21 November until Monday 27 November.

Then I return to normal until winter break.

Posting my holiday schedule:

I'll be posting at full speed from today until Friday afternoon. After that I'll be completely MIA from December 22-26.

I'll return on the 27th, albeit with a slightly slower pace, likely only once or twice each day until January 2nd, at which point I'll be back full speed for the foreseeable future.

Just a quick heads up. I'll be on business travel from April 19 - May 2. I expect to be able to post from my phone, but will not have access to a full computer (or if I'm the DM, the adventure.)

Just a quick heads up. Starting Friday 17-Aug until Tuesday 21-Aug my internet connection is going to be spotty. I expect to get in a morning and an evening post, but likely only that.

I am moving across the country over the next week. I will be scarce as well.

Heads up everyone. I'll be AFK from Friday 1300ish until Tuesday 0700. I will do my best to check in once per day, but I'm expecting it to be a bit difficult (I'll be in Washington DC as pit crew for my fiancee as she runs a marathon.)

Hey everyone. I'll be on international travel April 20-27. I'm guessing that my activity will be one post every 48 hours for that week. It's not outside the realm of possibility that I'm totally offline.

Just a reminder that I'm essentially AFK for the next week. I'll be posting today, but that's my last regular post.

I am traveling abroad May 13th through June 1st, and I anticipate very limited ability to post. I will do my best but I could be gone the whole time.

For botting purposes, Booker has a large supply of heavy weaponry but typically sticks to his Advanced Shirren-Eye Rifle, firing using Deadly Aim (-2 attack, +6 damage) and Focus Fire (shoot twice at single target at -3 each, not -4) whenever possible. The rifle has a 4-round clip, which usually means two rounds of Focus Fire before reloading (or 1 shot and move, 2 shots, 1 shot and reload).

I hereby designate Rich as my official botter, but anyone can feel free to do so.

Just a reminder that Hack-It, R1G5, Janzi, and the GM will be at The Gathering II from this afternoon until after Game of Thrones on Sunday. Booker is also gallivanting across Europe. I'm bringing my laptop, so I might be able to post.
