When the smoke starts pouring out of the kitchen, Ollo rushes outside with the others and stands staring, gapejawed, at the *supposed* conflagration. Looking around at the bystanders he tries to help keep up the ruse.
"Do yer buildin's normally be that flammable? That's goin quick! Where are the city guards? GUARDS!! GUARDS!! FIRE AT THE INN!!! he finishes with a bellow that sends nearby bystanders cringing in half deafness.
He then goes over to the innkeep and tries to help those restraining Pal. "Get a hold of ye' self, man! Ye can'ot go back in there! Whats so important ye'd risk life 'n limb?"
I figured that involving the guards could only make for more confusion.. lol

Ai looks at the chaos she's caused, and then at how orderly the exodus has been, and grins to herself. Picoperi would be pleased. He'd be so pleased. She steps further into the smoke and shifts into her anthropomorphic fox-form, just to break up her profile a bit. She takes just a second to admire how the cinnamons and blondes of her fur make her look in the smokey room before spring back into action.
As she glances around the room, she sees the Kortos agent still inside and takes a moment to think about the two men trying to help him. She shakes her head and joins Aarion, ignoring the big man and the two would-be helpers in favor of grabbing the agent's hand. "Sir! please come with me. Our mutual friend sent me in when we saw the building ablaze. We're going to meet at a different tavern, the Wandering Eye, across town. You have one hour! Go!" She turns on her heel and starts leaving, trying her best to pull Sareth to his feet and get him out of the building.
Bluff: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

![]() |

Ollo please give me a bluff check to go along with your shouting.
So far I have not had to reveal the mechanics of this part of the scenario because you've all been rolling high enough, but this time I'll need to do some quick explaining.
The party as a whole needs a certain number of individuals to succeed in their checks, whichever they are, to complete the task. If not enough of the party succeed they may choose to try again, but the entire party must roll second checks . In this instance I have two rolls from Aarion and Ai, so I'll count those as first and second checks. Ollo must hit a DC17 with his first check, if he doesn't he may roll again. I'll need rolls from Narika as well (also DC 17), and if still needed to push the party from failure to success I'll roll for Talon.

![]() |

Narika's roll was made during step 2, and counted toward the success of that part of the plan, but she'll need to roll again for the final stage which we are currently in.

![]() |

I can do a bluff at +2.. or would you rather a diplomacy roll for trying to interact with the barkeep? I figured anyone can yell for help.. but I was actively trying to convince the man not to go into the building and to talk to me. Besides, my Diplomacy modifier is +6! lmao. Either way is good.
Which ever way you want to roll: 1d20 ⇒ 7
+2 Bluff, +6 Diplomacy
Edit: Well, hell. I guess it doesn't matter too much anyways.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
When the distraught man does not answer Ollos first question, he takes hold of the mans shoulder and turns him face to face with the dwarf and repeats his question.

As Ollo finally convinces the bartender that whatever it is he's trying to save isn't worth his life the man finally stops struggling and follows everyone else out of the building.
Ai convinces Sareth to stop pacing by the front of the building and he rushes after her, not even stopping to consider if he's ever heard of the wandering eye. The kitsune is able to easily lose him after just a couple blocks.
Aarion successfully frightens the remaining bystanders to go home, with the help of the guards that came rushing over at Ollos call. In all the commotion he can see a young woman round a corner and stare at the crowd gathered around the Oyster. She rushes over to a guard and has a brief argument with them that you can only catch a small part of.
"Look lady, I don't care that you had a meeting. No one is going in that building until we know exactly what happened! You'll have to reschedule." Frustrated, she turns and leaves, occasionally turning back to scan the crowd, but before long she completely gives up and walks out of sight.
Congrats pathfinders you have successfully disrupted the meeting without revealing yourselves or your true intentions. Although you have made quite a commotion and probably want to lay low for a little while.
You still have a few options. You can return to the sewers later in the evening and look again for Laszo, or you may attempt disrupting the shipment on the Blue Dragon's Bite.

![]() |

We caused just the correct amount of commotion! We're Pathfinders, after all!
Ai finds a nice quiet place in an alley and proceeds to shift back into human form. she pulls her hair out of her robes, giggling as the ends tickle her back, and then rejoins the group. As they leave the scene of the 'crime', she smiles, looking up at the bigger members of the group and then down at Narika. "That was fun! I do hope no one's mad about all of that, but I think it would be unwise to go back to that bar again anytime soon."
Her grin fades, and she sniffs herself thoughtfully. "I am not looking forward to those sewers again. The stink was unbelievable! Do you suppose we'll be able to find the Leper this time around, or do we need to consider plan B? Not that it'll be easier, but it might be less...disgusting."
I still think finding Laszo is the best option.

![]() |

Aarion nods to Jian-Wei's question. "I think it is the best of the two options. Putting the alchemist out of business would be service in it's self. Whith what we now know, I think we will catch him this time around."
I vote for heading back to the sewers.

![]() |

Would you prefer to head down early and potentially ambush Laszo, or go down later when you can be sure he's there?

![]() |

I'm OK with the ambush, if everyone else is. We could even try and blend in as addicts.

![]() |

The sewer map is still up, place yourselves where you wish to be. Let me know here or on the discussion tab when you're placed.

![]() |

Sorry for going MIA. Busy, busy weekend (Tis the Season, ya know). The ambush plan works for me.

Sorry guys. Rough day. The ambush works fine.
While waiting, Ollo decides to explore a little and check out the room across from the ladder.

Once that is complete, he will try and find a suitable place to hide.
Assuming we have time, Ollo will take 20 for hiding near the workbench, using debris from the tunnels to hide him. My base is -3, but I can't find the PRD regarding this right now, so I will leave it up to you, all mighty GM, to determine a numerical value for how sluethy a loudmouthed dwarf can be!

As the party arrives at the sewers a little before sunset, they may or may not be surprised that the junkies have quite literally not moved from this morning. The water level is a bit higher this time, about two feet deep, though it doesn't look or feel like what you'd expect of sewage, in fact it seems almost clean.
The four drug addicts are sweating, shaking or mumbling to themselves, barely coherent and clearly going through withdrawal, they make no move to greet the party, nor do they notice when the group quietly sits down around them and waits. Despite the constant ramblings in the background and the overwhelming smell, the party waits for the better part of an hour, even Ollo has managed to maintain his ruse as a pile of flotsam near the workbench. I've placed you by the workbench Ollo
Finally someone descends the ladder. Anyone paying careful attention can see that this is definitely Laszo. The man frequently pauses to scratch the nasty lesions on his skin as he mumbles to himself, pulling pages from pocket in his clothes and reading them as he steps over the junkies and passes by the party without so much as a second glance.
So absorbed is he in his notes that it's not until he actually makes it to his workbench, near the giant rat statue before stopping and looking around the room.
He scratches at his skin while he works, then, finally, producing a vial similar to the one Aarion found this morning he turns to the addicts in the tunnel. "Time for your daily dose!" As he jiggles the flask in his hands the four humans start slowly crawling toward him, they barely look able to breathe but are somehow working up the energy for another hit of whip. Narika realizes it won't be long before she finds herself exposed as the junkies she's blending with move toward the strange alchemist.
Your move Pathfinders, what do you do now?

Ai steps out around the corner, trying her best not to splash the almost-clean water as she makes eye contact with the back of Laszo's head. As she does, she conjures her happiest mental images of naptime as a child and falling asleep with arms around...well, not that one, maybe, but there's plenty of other tired memories to pool. The mental shove is less powerful than the one she used on Pal the Barkeep, but still plenty...hopefully.

As Ai and Narika both cast their spells Laszo is bombarded with a magical assault. He shrugs off his sudden drowsiness but still takes a hit from the magic missile and grunts in pain. "Who are you? Come to steal my Whip?"He slams his fist on a pipe next to him, summoning a large beetle. The bug lazily enters the battle, having been effected by Ai's lullaby spell. The addicts stare wide eyed at Narika but all quickly succumb to the spell as well, many opting to lounge in the water and close their eyes. Cross a square containing a drug addict will count as difficult terrain, but they are not participating in the battle so can be otherwise ignored.

Aarion shields himself from harm. Ollo Detects that Laszo is, in fact, an evil little man. Talon rushes into battle but fails to connect with his first attack.
