Great to be here guys!
I just wanna say that I tried really hard to put together an argument that we should all play for Germany. I think that would be REALLY exciting! We could start in the West, then be transferred to the East to beat Russia, then go back West to take part in some of the most famous battles...
...but then the whole thing would just end on a giant Rocks Fall as the juggernaut of America sends in endless waves of fresh troops, including the forerunner of the marines--the Devil Dogs.

What do you mean by conversion? I'm using the Weird War I Player's Guide for stats. If you need a price list, I can arrange such, but I cannot link to the document because I had to purchase it.

Different timeline, yes. Problem? Not at all. Dealing with a death in the family, is all. Will have a move up today or tomorrow.

![]() |

Don't be sorry, you had no idea. The funeral is tomorrow and she wasn't a close relative, but my wife got elected to handle all the details, so it took some effort on our part. She was 90 years old and had lived a full life. Thank you for your sympathy.

![]() |

I have no problem with that, if no one else minds. What say you folks?

![]() |

I certainly have no problem with that. SW is a good system in that it can be smooth, even with a larger table. We're only at 4 right now, so there's certainly room.
He just needs to promise to post hard an' fast. I'm just itching to let the Hun die for his country. ;)

Sorry to hold things up; it's been a busy weekend. Will update in the AM or later this evening. Go ahead and finish your sprints and I will check for the others.

WhyKnt - can you please put the link to the map in the "header" info for the game ("The year is 1914. The place is the battlefield of the Great War...")? It turns out that roll20 times out, and I have to re-login every time I want to look at the map. Thanks!

Sure. They are standard Model 24 Stielhandgranate ("potato mashers" as the Brits know them). They are inscribed with the words, Vor Gebrauch Sprengkapsel einsetzen.
Range: 8/15/30
Damage: 3d6
Weight: 2 lbs.
Burst: Medium
Also, please excuse the delay. I'm visiting family and today was my sister's birthday. I'll get a move out tomorrow.

I'm reposting this in all my games, just so it gets noticed. I am leaving for Europe on the 18th of this month and will return the 17th of the next month. During that time, I will do my best to keep up, but I know a few times I will be at sea, so it will be difficult to check the boards. Rest assured I will do my best though!

![]() |

Sorry for the delay. I have been under the weather, but I will get things back on track today or tomorrow.

![]() |

Just a heads-up. I am going to be at a con tomorrow through Monday. Will update on my return.

Hey guys, do any of us have a plan?
It seems like there was only one way to get in, and now we're in.
Now what?
We have to rescue to prisoners. I don't think we can stealth this one.
Had one of us made a dead-on Rogue with huge climb and stealth, then, maybe maybe that one person could have some options, but with us just a bunch of lvl 1 ground pounders...I think we may have to go loud.
If some of us get up on that wall and get their attention, and one or two maybe have flanking positions, maybe we can get something done.
Otherwise, I don't know who has the best Stealth, but if we stay quiet then we need to start getting into the building more aggressively and risking some stealth rolls.
Maybe the stealthiest of us could go up the center, and if they get seen, the rest of us balls-out come to their rescue?

Jacques Corbett |

Do we have any way up on the wall yet? Have we seen anything that might get somebody up on the wall?
I would say if we can get a hold of a way up, everybody should go. Anybody still on the ground is a sitting duck.

Aleksei Yarovich |

Was going to try to pose as the German soldiers, but won't go well, since only a couple of us speak any German. Aleksei is not opposed to going loud and making a smash and grab run...

Robert "Bobby" Northbrook |

I'm at a complete loss. The place is crawling with Nazis, one bad roll and we're all done for.

![]() |

Alright, screw it. This would be a thing if this was a system with more options, like, say, Interface Zero, we could TAP-stun some dudes, or download data, or just use our cyberarms to climb the walls, but with all of us making straight combat or combat-support rolls, odds are low.
Let's get to the wall and go as far as we can, but then we'll just go loud and hope for the best. =)

Just so everyone is aware, my player is leaving this evening for the holiday weekend, so posting will be more spotty than usual ;-) We will return Monday.

Posting this in all my games:
Some of you may or may not be aware, but my wife has glaucoma which has already claimed the sight in her right eye and is eating away at the vision in her left. To further complicate matters, she had a cataract removed from her left eye, but during the operation, there was some minor temporary damage to the optic nerve. Long story short, it should heal in two to three months, but until then, I am her official reader. She can make out blurred images of people and if they speak, she is pretty good at recognizing voices, but she can't read anything.
Further, I am the only one of us who drives, since her vision started getting worse last year, so I have to take her to any and all doctor's appointments. About once every two weeks, she has to go to Tulane in New Orleans, about 90 miles away (and that's not to mention local appointments, errands, shopping trips, etc.). So if I seem slow to respond or post, please bear with me. If I am a player, bot me as needed. If I am your GM, rest assured that I have not forgotten you. I may just have had a hella busy day.

Jacques Corbett |

Yeah. A steady and speedy recovery to your wife, and please take your time and don't push yourself too hard.

Aleksei Yarovich |

No worries man, we all have lives too. You're awesome for taking care of her so well.

First things first: Before I forget (again), everyone gets a Bennie for having the sheer, unmitigated onions to take on an entire castle full of Germans by yourselves!
I think, at least for my part, we all made combat-oriented builds, without much stealthy or the talky. And we saw a castle, and were like, "Well, we got not many options here, so let's just front-door it and see how it goes."
=)
Jacques Corbett |

I dunno, Jacques is less of a combat wombat (though his shooting rolls have mostly lucked out) but his skills didn't really fit this situation. :)

Since I had to look up the rules myself, now seems as good a time as any to have a brief reiteration of the DAMAGE! rules.
Pg 68:
"Wild Cards can take three wounds and still function. If another wound would be caused after that, they’re Incapacitated"
pg 69:
"Wild Cards are Incapacitated if they suffer more than three wounds (cumulatively or all at once). When a Wild Card becomes Incapacitated, make an immediate Vigor roll:
• Total of 1 or Less: The character dies.
• Failure: Roll on the Injury Table..."
I'm guessing that WhtKnt thought an Injury cometh automatically upon becoming Incapacitated, though it looks like we're given one last chance to suck before that happens. =)

I'll try to wait on Jacques going before me. Where he moves might affect my action. (He's also ahead of my in init, so IC FTW!)
Also, WhtKnt, what's your call on moving diagonally. The Internet is evenly split on it for SW, with some saying that since SW is so "rules-lite" it's no big whoop to just say diagonal movement is also 1:1. But it's a houserule either way.

Jacques Corbett |

Huh. I'm learning how many things I treated as gospel are actually house rules. :)
I've always played diagonal movement as counting for 1.5 (as per "difficult ground"). But Clint Black said he plays it as 1 pace in his personal games, so...?

![]() |

We'll go with 1:1 on diagonal, simply so that we don't have to worry over it. As for the injury, yes, I mistakenly thought that an injury was automatic with a wound.
