"Wow, this is a neat chamber! It has to be the reason we were sent here." Riggs does his normal routine, and begins detecting magic, concentrating for several seconds to figure out if there are auras, and what those might be.

Shifting closer to the sarcophagus Riggs realizes that many auras are radiating from within. Enchantment aura, transmutation, and even an abjuration aura.

"There's a ton of magic coming from the sarcophagus. I'm sure it's trapped, though. Much like everything else we've run across doing tasks for this town and wizard!"

"Anyone feel like taking a try at finding this trap?"

Jaren starts looking around for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

If he sees none, he starts inspecting the sarcophagus for locks and attempts to pick them.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Jaren finds no such traps or locks on the sarcophagus, though as he starts to poke and prod around the tomb four of the statues nearest the entrance seem to slowly spring to life.

Heat ripples the air near the squat, brass skinned humanoids. Their head and shoulders quickly blaze with a mane of fire.

Azers! I'm going to bet they are pretty much immune to fire!

He exclaims while mournfully looking at the Flaming Longsword at his hip, and draws his trusty cold iron longspear.

He takes a quick step forward, and jabs at the blue-tinged one.

Jaren trips going back up the steps and misses the Azer though he does remember quite a bit about them. They are indeed immune to fire, though they are vulnerable to cold magic. They also have a slight magical resistance. Their attacks seem to also cause a bit of fire damage as they put off quite a bit of heat.

The Azers slowly move forward and silently surround the group as they slam their flaming warhammers at Jaren and Lovec.

Two warhammers smash into Jaren and Lovec and they feel the intense heat coming off of the Azer's manes and hammers.

Riggs pulls a scroll of Glitterdust and casts it at the biggest congregation of azers.

Jasmine heads into the fray, enlarging as she does so and slashing with her sword.

Jaren takes a step back and renews his attack on the blue tinged Azer.

Riggs hurls a bunch of glitter across the blue and yellow Azers. The dust covers their bodies.

Everyone's attacks miss their targets except for Barrals greatsword. In one swift stroke he is able to cut the outsider down.

The azer advance on Jaren with their flaming warhammers.

The Azer's warhammer is aimed right for Jaren's head but misses just at the right moment as the Azer stumbles in its blindness.

Rubbing their eyes both outsiders are able to remove enough of the dust to see once again.

Hold still and die like a ??? what ever you are.

Lovec moves, attempting to put the azer between himself and his ally. He swings his sword again, attempting to finish off his opponent.

Riggs takes a 5' step backwards and fires an acid splash at the yellow tinged enemy.

Riggs is able to splash a little bit of acid against the yellow Azer while Lovec's longsword bounces off of the hard stone-like armor.

The green Azer completely shifts to the side avoiding Barral's blow as Jaren steps back making a similar mistake.

Jasmine moves in, enlarging again as she does so, before striking out at the last remaining enemy.

Jasmines greatsword cleaves clear through the Azer leaving two remaining That continue to advance on Jaren and Riggs backing them into a corner.

Jasmine ignored her fallen opponent and hefts her sword, moving up into the next one and attempting to finish it off.

With Jasmines' mighty blade the group quickly finishes off the remaining Azer's.

With the immediate threat taken care of the group peers into the tomb and finds that the corpse wears a circlet around its brow, among many other items.

"Can anyone heal Jaren? He was hit pretty hard back there. I've went through a lot of spells today. Anyone else feel like holing up here and resting for a while before we continue onwards? The rest of you should be taking this equipment, though as there is some really good stuff so far."

Barral will do what he can to bring Jaren around ...

Jaren carries the party heal stick on his bandolier. I'll go ahead and roll the healing and subtract the charges.

Lovec gazes down the staircase. "Onwards?"

Taken the spiral staircase further down leads to a layer of brackish water that covers the floor of this chamber, filling the air with a scent of minerals.

Water counts as difficult terrain.

The door ahead is locked but Brassy's key seems to do the trick. Nearly freezing water floods the floor of this long oval chamber to a depth of one foot. A single stone sarcophagus, its lid carved to resemble a handsome human aristocrat, sits at the western end of the room. Four circular alcoves open into the room at the western end as well, each of which contains a lesser ornate stone sarcophagus.

The data plates on the sarcophagus seem to reveal the bodies of Tula's husband and her cousins.

Riggs again casts Detect magic, hoping to stay well away from any possible threats.

Everyone, please equip yourself with any of those items we found. None of them we really for Riggs, but the rest of you speak up asap and use those suckers.

"So we've found the husband. I'm willing to bet the dragon slayer herself is around here somewhere."

Lovec will wait for Riggs's examination, before helping to move the lids off the sarcophagi.

Lovec wouldn't mind the ring.

If no one else wants it, Jaren will take the amulet.

Jaren props his spear up against the wall, and, if there aren't any traps, helps Lovec lift the lid.

Please place yourselves near which lid you are lifting as there are 5 in the room.

Riggs scans the room and finds no magical aura's, though it is difficult to tell what is sealed within the thick stone walls of the sarcophagus.

Riggs will stand by the westernmost coffin, not wanting to be up close as the others open their chosen one.

Barral walks up to the center sarcophagus ...
"Should we start with the main event first?"

The groups surrounds Arturic's coffin and slowly raise the lid to which Riggs finds numerous magical auras. His body clad in a delicate looking blue silk robe. His bony fingers clutch at a magical rod while his left hand contains a platinum wedding band. On his right hand he wears another magical ring along with a pair of magical slippers.

Though there is little time to grab anything as the northern sarcophagus' lid begins to slowly grind open as an undead creature clamors out into the deep water.

Jaren almost reached for his spear, and then shrugs and draws the magical longs word.
Might as well give this thing a try...

He then starts reciting an ancient poem about a group of adventurers who faced an undead threat in an abandoned temple.

"It's a wight! It will drain your very life force if it strikes you!"

"Focus Fire on it while is struggles through the shaky terrain, kite it back" Jasmine orders as she shoulders her greatsword, ready to swing it at should the creature step into range.

I'm assuming that its just slightly out of Jasmine's reach at the moment, even if I enlarge, probably due to the curving walls. I'll undelay and attack the moment it steps into my enlarged range though!

It is within range if you enlarge towards the doorway. Give me an attack roll on the red one.

Jaren begins to incite the group and inspire them with tales of valor and dragonslayers as Jasmine grows quite large and attacks the exposed wight. As she does so the remaining (Surrounding) Sarcophagus all begin to grind open, revealing three more wights.

Waiting to see if Jasmine's attack kills the wight to see if I need to attack with it before moving on.

Her blade cuts deep into the undead creature nearly felling it in a single blow.

While the yellow and green wight struggle to free themselves from their sarcophagus the blue wight manages to clamor out of the stone tomb as it growls at Barral.

Jaren keeps his inspiration going, and flicks a finger at the southernmost wight, casting Grease directly under it.

Seeing so many undead Barral bolsters the groups defenses while Riggs shaky hands miss the wight and hurl acid at the nearby wall.

Jaren quickly tosses grease to the ground near the southern wight as it covers the sarcophagus.

Reflex DC 16: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

The wight slips as it falls prone back into the crypt. Jasmine's blade nearly finishes off the northern wight but gets caught up on the walls nearby.
