Lovec |
Lovec has a bow, but shooting into melee makes it tough for him to hit.
Lovec takes aim again with his bow, trying to thread an arrow between his allies.

My uncle passed away so I'm currently traveling to attend / help with the funeral over the next couple of days. Feel free to bot me in the meantime until I get through it.
GM Tyranius |
Sorry to hear that. :(. Take care and have a safe trip.
Even with all of the assistance Jasmine has difficulty getting free from the webbing as the demon gives up on tearing free from the webbinga nd instead focuses on ramming Jasmine with it's sharp horns.

Even though the webs hindered you it was probably in your best interest as it stopped the demon from also using it's halberd and causing disease and ruin.
Lovec |
Lovec will wander over to the pit, to see if there is anything interesting in the bottom.
"This wizard certain got up to some suspicious activity. I mean, why would you want to keep a demon in your basement?"
GM Tyranius |
Inspecting the pit shows nothing but an excessive amount of scratch marks along the walls.
Jaren inspects the halberd to find no magic contained within it. It is simply a mwk halberd.
Lovec |
"I guess there's not much more to see here. Let's move on. How about that series of doors out in the hall?"
Lovec will move to the first door back along the hall.
GM Tyranius |
Feel free to heal yourself before moving on.
Three similar storage closets lie along this corridor. The eastern most closet is a well stocked wine cellar, with many fine and rare vintages from across the inner sea. The middle contains a generous cache of sides of beef, pork, mutton, fowl and fish, all frozen thanks to the permanent wall of ice against the northern wall.

GM Tyranius |
Opening the secret doorway reveals a long winding hallway that splits off east and south.
Barral de Gauzignan |
"Straight?" South
GM Tyranius |
The hallway continues to circle around for some time until it leads to another wooden door. The walls of this room are covered with arcane symbols. In the northern chamber, a wooden table sits against the eastern wall, with several items laid atop it. A bright light shines forth from an opening in the south wall.
The light runs down the length of the hallway making it incredibly difficult to tell what is on the other side.
Lovec |
Probing ahead with his Lucerne hammer, Lovec steps into the lit hallway.
"Don't they always say, 'Go into the light'? Or is it 'Don't go into the light'? I can never remember."
GM Tyranius |
Stepping into the lit hallway Lovec is instantly blinded by the dazzling bright light. You gain the blind condition!

Squirting past the light, Jasmine attempts to spot anything of use that might counter the sudden outpouring of light.

Jasmine gets a sudden brainwave, remembering the dust of darkness she and her friends located earlier, and springs into action, hurling some of it in the direction of the sudden bright light.
GM Tyranius |
Jasmine hurls the dust of darkness into the lights path. As the dust settles it slowly floats in the air causing the bright light to dim to a far more manageable level.
At the end of the room is a single small cell enclosed by a gate of bright metal etched with strange sigils that radiate magic. Within the cell is an amorphous cloud of shadow, a shape that is difficult to fix one's eyes on.
What's this now? I recognize you not, mortals. Are you minions of the petty human? If not, I plead with you to release me from this unjust and outrageous imprisonment. Do so and you shall be rewarded.

"That's a shae. They aren't necessarily evil, but they're a bit full of themselves. We might be able to trust it," Riggs whispers to the others.
"Greetings, shae. How were you captured? How can we release you? What sort of reward would you give a group of rescuers?"
Lovec |
"Gah! My eyes! It's like staring into the sun!"
After Jasmine dims the light, Lovec spends several moments blinking his eyes, trying to gain his sight back.
He turns towards the cell door when he hears the voice.
"The last guy we let out tried to eat our livers. How do we know you won't do the same?"
Jaren Morgenstern |
Jaren rests his spear on the wall beside him, and crosses his arms.
Well, at least you seem to be a bit more talkative than our previous friend, which my friend mentioned. Tell me, what was this wizard doing here? We've found many strange things in our explorations. Perhaps we can help one another.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
GM Tyranius |
My name is Maffei. Your livers? They do not interest me. The shadow says as it shifts about. Originally, I was summoned here by the wizard to aid in his research. The fool believed there to be a connection between the Plane of Shadow and the Dark Tapestry. He became enraged when I laughed at him and locked me up soon after....I have been kept here in a far weakened state. I cannot tell you how much time has passed exactly.
Riggs Parrett |
"Pleasure to meet you. What assurances can you give us that if we free you, you won't seek revenge on us or the town? The wizard is dead. He can't torture you anymore. What reward are you talking about?"
GM Tyranius |
How would you have me offer assurance more than my word? The only reward I can offer would be my assistance or one of my blades until I am able to secure passage back to my realm. The shadows flit about the cell.
