Mardak looks with concern at his weapons. He rifles his pack for a weapon not name of metal. Rust Monster?

Those things are terrors I hear she says.

Kazu follows Senach into the room with open doors to the north. Nodding to him in coordination, he then creeps into the courtyard further north, scouting ahead to the doors up ahead.

Sorry, had a busy weekend and got back from my trip late on Monday.
Senach is stunned as the creature leaps out of the very earth of the courtyard, and lets out a groan as he sees his friend get launched across the yard with a hammering blow!
Please insert On my turn:
Senach hefts his mace and charges into the fray, shield held high in an attempt to prevent taking flight as did Kazu.
His mace lashes out at the creature, but it doesn't seem as if he struck anything.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Dmg: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Vulpina isn't looking in the right direction and turns only just in time to see one bird hit with many stones. A part of her is fairly certain there's a parable about inefficiency there, but most of her is just relieved that all of Kazu's head is still attached to his body.

![]() |

Kazu's world spins violently around him when he is smashed mightily across his skull. He almost collapses onto the floor but pulls himself together to face the creature. Feeling rather small and ineffectual against the stony creature, Kazu nonetheless claws into the creature, and pecks at it with his beak, hoping to break through the hard exterior.
claw 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 dmg: 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Alright, this is the combat that all of Kazu's nice sneak attacks, intimidation, etc are completely useless. :P

The bard begins an inspiring song
My name is Mud
Not to be confused with Bill or Jack or Pete or Dennis
My name is mud and it's always been
'Cause I'm the most boring sons-a-b%@%% you've ever seen
I dress in blue-yes navy blue
From head to toe I'm rather drab except my patent shoes
I make 'em shine, well most the time
'Cept today my feet are troddin' on by this friend of mine
Six foort two and rude as hell
I got to get him in the ground before he starts to smell
My name is Mud.

Phoebee begins to inspire her companions with a rousing tale, long forgotten.

Mardak advances on the large elemental, drawing it's wrath.

Alright. Checked in on all of QWERTY's characters and the last they have posted was back beginning of December, nearly 3 weeks ago.

The earth elemental swings around, Kazu is able to duck under neath but the stony fist clobbers straight into Mardak's chest. Cracked ribs and a sternum cause the orc to gasp for breath as Senach dives into the fray. Senach raises his mace and slams it into the rock, though it doesn't even scratch the surface. Missed AC.

This is the first spell I’ve ever cast as any character, but if I can’t cast past teammates, please move me; my phone’s not letting me do so. Also, I believe the reflex save will be DC15 (10 + CL + CHA)?

After being hit by the slam, Mardak is kind of upset. he enters a rage, drops his Earth Breaker, draws his great sword and swings for the fences.

Casting around other characters is only a problem with directed attacks like rays or whatever. Basically, if you have to roll an attack such as ranged touch or whatever, then positioning, cover, and all feats such as Point Blank Shot etc apply. In this case, there is no attack roll, so cast it without worries. You are almost correct in calculating the DC. DC for bards is set by 10+SPELL level+Cha mod. Caster level factors into spell resistance checks and concentration checks, not DC's.

Makes sense! The final tally is the same either way, but it’s definitely good to know.

Grease is a great spell. She has a little song that she sings with it :)

Put the grease in best possible spot for you without affecting allies. Shift it as you want.
Lady Vulpina sends a stream of grease through the air that coats the ground beneath the deadly elemental in an attempt to save her companions lives.
Reflex DC 15: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The pile of rocks crumples down onto it's back as it flounders in the grease.
Phoebee moves in behind Senach but still can't seem to find on opening on the elemental.

As the beast surges to its feet, Senach tries to reach out with his mace, but stumbles as the living wall of rock sweeps towards him like an avalanche. The beast rears back spreading its arms, and Senach has time for a quick prayer to Erastil as time seems to freeze. Suddenly, Senach is surrounded by a warm light of mixed green and gold hues. The colors of the sun drifting through new spring leaves. A sense of peace covers the nagaji as his ears hear for the first time the voice that has been speaking in his heart for so many years.
"Be at peace, Warrior. You have fought well, and carried your burdens with grace."

Are you remembering the +1 to hit and damage she provides?

![]() |

I took a look and I don't think you added the bardic performance bonus to you first roll, it might have hit

![]() |

I don't think it would get it's full AC because it is standing up

![]() |

Yup—AoO’s fire off before the results of triggering action, or in other words, while Earth Elemental is still prone. A 13 missed and a 14 hit earlier, so I’m figuring it’s got 14AC while prone. Everyone hit and did 10+ damage, so it went about as well as anyone could hope without crits!

![]() |

I hope he hit

![]() |

@Phoebee- You rolled 1d20 instead of 1d10 for your damage roll.
Phoebee damage roll: 1d10 ⇒ 4 And will add in your modifiers from above.
All strike and deal glancing blows against the elemental, but unfortunately it isn't enough as the Elemental crushes their companions skull.
With a renewed fury Kazu and Mardak put everything they have into dropping the insane creature before anymore lives are lost. Kazu tears a stone free with his claws and Mardak cracks several stones with his earth breaker. The earth elemental shudders before collapsing into a pile of inanimate rocks once more.
You were lucky you all hit or it would have lasted one more round and probably killed two more. Senach's death saved multiple more lives. :(. This was a very tough fight. My group TPK'd on it a year or so back.

Vulpina lets out something between a howl and a scream as their companion’s brains and skull and scales splatter the immediate vicinity. She keeps her lunch down for exactly long enough for the group to finish the elemental, finger twitching uselessly by the trigger of her pistol, and as soon as it no longer matters if she keeps her composure, she vomits hard onto the courtyard.
