@TRS-80- Yea that is the difficulty of PbP. Where you would be able to discuss it at the table before hand. Most GM's around here are fine with writing situational posts. Just put them behind spoilers. Most of the time I wait for everyone in the group to post so I can see what you all are getting towards and then shape it into the parties favor. So if it is something detrimental I would pause a second to see if you want to change your action due to circumstances you would not have been aware of at the time.

Sense Motive: 3d20 ⇒ (10, 5, 8) = 23

All three of the men stop for a moment, confused. "The f+&* they hire someone else for? They think we couldn't handle some old broad?

The gangers wave their pistols in the air. [b]"We was paid to take her. And we getting paid! Get walking if you know what is good for ya!"

Going to pause the init block just a moment as the bluff seems to have worked. Do you wish to continue with you prior mentioned actions or attempt a different course?

Altharikon's eyes widen in surprise as the flimsy bluff seems to have worked on the....dullards. The magic summoning syllables hang on his lip as he looks around at his companions.

TRS-80 and VIC-20 will pause, and give time for those endowed with the social graces to steer this ship to safety....

"Well, we all found her. We'll all get paid." She snaps her fingers as if thinking of something. "There's got to be a reason for sending two groups. Go check in the forest on your side to see if she's got any backup."

Altharikon raises one eyebrow at Chetna's last remark......

Guess we'll see how stupid they really are......

My one saving grace is a +10 bonus to bluff.

My action was readied, no changes for Kentalch.

Altharikon thinks of some information that could prove useful and tries to reach Kentalch telepathically. "We should try to find out who hired them..."

"I heard tell of an underground hacker group trying to spirit her away for their own purposes," Alimony chips in. "They'd probably be lurking in the shadows around here."

Bluff Aid: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

Surprisingly all manage to continue believing Chetna's bluff. All except for one who raises his pistol and fires a shot at Chetna.

"She is ours!"

Red Pulsecaster Pistol vs Chetna EAC 13: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

The electrical discharge goes wide and Ceren cowers on the bridge. The remaining two look at the companion in confusion but raise their pistols, trusting in his instinct.

TRS-80 quickly tosses his smoke grenade to provide cover as the shots begin firing.

Kentalch readies to toss a stone but the ganger is too far out of his reach.

The group begins to lose visual as Smoke fills the bridge.

As the laser pistol fires, Altharikon finishes spell and fires all three missiles at the offending thug.

Missiles vs Red: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4, 3) + 3 = 14

Vahni, glowing with solar energy, charges straight into the fray at Red. As they run, they flick on their sword's merciful fusion, which starts playing disturbingly serene music for a battle.

Their blade's edge dulled with pink light, Vahni swings with all of their might at their opponent.

Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

With gangers on the other side of the bridge and the smoke providing cover, Kentalch moves to Ceren and tries to get her behind the treeline.

"Come on Nana, let's get you out of the line of fire."

I'm guessing pulling Ceren from the collar would be an action? =P So I can only get as far as adjacent to her? Trying to get her behind the tree next to VIC20.

Alimony waits a few seconds to take his shot, pistol behind his back, before bringing it to bear in a flash and firing. Perhaps a wasted gesture given the smoke, but a stylish one nonetheless. Sadly, his shot goes wide as he is unable to exactly discern where his target is.

TRS-80 springs to his feet like an athlete...(Move Action)

He then takes a 5-ft step into the smoke, and opens fire on Green!!

@TRS- There are no longer free 5 foot steps in Starfinder. That is one of the changes. It is now called a guarded step and is a move action. Would you like to readjust you actions as you have too many. CRB Page 247.

Kantalch moves in next to Ceren and begins to coax her up to find cover.

You can do a reposition combat maneuver to drag her to cover.

The smoke turns a reddish hue for a moment as Alimony's shot goes wide, striking a tree.

Altharikon sends a trio of magical missiles screaming across the bridge at the only thug he is able to see outside of the obscuring mist. The missiles smash into the gangers chest, knocking the wind from him as he falls fast first into the ground.

Vahni dives in with her blade, but the mist plays tricks on her eyes as the thug is able to duck underneath it.

Chetna fires her pistol, but the pellets go deep into the soft soil as she misses due to the mist.

TRS hops up and moves to help Chetna as the gangers all cough in the cloud. "Damn smoke grenade needs to clear out." Dropping their pulsecaster pistols the pair draw their batons and swing them at Vahni and Alimony.

Kentalch grabs Ceren and tries to drag her closer to VIC-20.

Chetna flips her dagger around and rushes alongside Alimony to help defend.

TRS-80 begins humming mozart at an annoying pitch. A dog would moan if he were within range...

VIC-20 continues its stealthy silence...

Don't forget Fort saves this round if in smoke cloud radius. It starts at DC 15 and increases by 1 each round. If you fail save you choke on smoke, not able to perform any actions. If fail twice in a row you take 1d6 Non-lethal damage.

TRS readies a medical kit as Kentalch tries to get Ceren to her feet. She is shaking so bad from fright she is frozen and locked in place firmer than a tree root.

The smoke clears for just a moment as Alimony attempts a trick shot at point blank range. Though he gets too trick as he nearly fumbles the pistol, missing the shot.

Altharikon plunges into the smoke screen as he hears the sounds of fighting within.

Vahni becomes fully attuned to her powers as her body cloaks into an aura of golden energy.

The bright energy crashes into the ganger's body as if the gravity increased down on his shoulders.

Chetna begins to cough and choke on the smoke.

One of the gangers begins to choke as the other attempts to retaliate against Vahni.

Kentalch activates his armors' environmental protection and steps into the smoke, trying to get a glimpse of what's going on.

Vahni manages to keep from choking on the smoke, and unleashes a flurry of slashes on the ganger.

All damage is nonlethal. If the first attack takes down their opponent, can they take a guarded step towards the other ganger as a move instead of the second attack?

Altharikon coughs and waves at the smoke, then takes a moment to activate the environmental protection measures of his light armor suit.

Breathing easier, he draws his laser pistol and peers through the smoke.

Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Growing increasingly annoyed, Alimony is spared from the infuriation of missing another shot as his lungs fill with smoke.

Can no actions be taken, not even to move? That's what I'm getting.

Kentalch takes a moment to activate the environmental protections on his armor. Though it doesn't help to see any easier it does make breathing much easier.

Alimony begins to choke on the smoke as well as Chetna. Chetna begins to double over as she can't breathe.

Altharikon manages to get his environmental protections up just before the smoke enters his position.

The smoke causes Vahni's first attack to miss, though her second one is true as the Solarian forces batter the ganger to the ground, where he lies unmoving.

From the barrage of coughing, TRS-80s ears filter out the various noises of battle, and elects to assist Chetna.

I didnt see anything in the rules that addresses smoke issues directly, but TRS-80 will attempt to put his medkit to good use with an attempt to add a bonus to a save if that is acceptable?

He attempts to assist the young lady with a breathing nebulizer, and takes the time to practice a little bedside manner by telling her a joke ...something about a naked Ysoki walking into a bar and ordering a drink....the punchline turns out to be the name of the drink which translates to "Thirsty and Lusty" in the Ysoki language...

As a free action, TRS-80 passes some encrypted instructions to VIC-20 via his custom rig...

Upon receiving the message from the TRS unit, VIC-20 will take a ready action to learn a little more about Ceren if she moves to its vicinity...
VIC makes use of it's Manipulator Hands modification...

Androids don't need to breathe so doesn't affect you outside of miss chance.

Medkit is more for diseases and poisons but I think it would help in this situation to justify the +4 to Chetna's save. This is just GM Fiat from roleplay and use of the situation so don't use expect it to work at another table.

Using his medkit TRS tries to help Chetna as she chokes on the poisonous smog created by her companion.

Vic-20 digs through some of Ceren's belongings and finds little more than clothes and a few personal momentos. Mainly photographs from years long past in her life. Looks like she truly is trying to move on to a better life.

Both Gangers begin choking as well as one doubles over in pain, joining Chetna. TRS-80's nebulizer doesn't seem to be doing the trick as she hurts even more, gasping for breath.

"I can't see if I got them in this smoke."

Unsure of how much longer that they can hold out, Vahni, taps the side of their neck, activating a glowing blue ring and spreading a thin, translucent film over their face before moving into position to take down the ganger.

Activating my environmental protections and using all my movement to skirt the ganger's threat range.

Fanning at the smoke with his hand and sensing most of companions are near, he calls out. "Got everything under control?"

Kentalch finds the remaining hooligan and tasers the man with his pulsecaster pistol, which causes him to breath in more smoke.

Alimony chokes even more as Altharikon fans the smoke with his hand. While the remaining ganger looks somewhat incapacitated and under control, the smoke is causing undue chaos among everyone involved. Vahni sets up her environmental protections to breathe easier.

@TRS- Are you attempting to use a second medkit? They are kind of a one time use.

Altharikon delays, as he moves closer only to bump into his companions, he backs up and kneels to check on the old woman whose name he has forgotten.

I'm looking at Table 7-26 in CRB it says:

I'm thinking that the Medkit isnt limited by uses, but Medpatch and
Sprayflesh are.

Good enough for me. Good find. helps explain that pricetag as well.

TRS is able to get the mask over Chetna's face, allowing her to breath a little easier. +4 to Chetna's save.

Altharikon kneels to check in on Ceren. She looks up at him with pleading eyes. "This is going bad isn't it?" her voice quavers.

Green Ganger Fort Save DC 18: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

The ganger is able to stop chocking long enough to use the smoke as cover and escape out to catch his breath. Bending over he gasps mouthfuls of fresh air before looking to the side and seeing Altharikon with Ceren. His hand grips his baton as he looks back at the smoke, weighing his options.
