Maps are used, depends on the GM.

I now have looked over all the character sheets, now just waiting for corrections. I will have the groups broken down today and look to get started sometime tomorrow, Wed latest.

I just wanted to bring this up real quickly. I know PbP dosn't normaly use maps however I was thinking if everyone has excel maps could be part of the game (I work with excel for my job).

One cell could = 5sq feet. The GM could have a version of the map with all the positions of badies or NPCs and to announce movement players would use blue text and say moves to N4 to denote which cell or square they're moving to. Terrain and walls could be denoted by filling in a cell with color.

It's just a thought and I know normaly PbP dosn't use maps at all but if everyone is interested and has excel it could work.

edit: I just realised that excel files can be saved as PDFs so it could work even if people didn't have excel.

If you're wanting to get a bit fancy, could make a shared googledoc it works like excel, but doesn't require excel since google hosts the file. Again only if Tek and players wanna do it.

What I have seen in the past, is taking a screenshot of the map, putting it on google docs, making little tokens to represent the players, and allowing it to be universally editable. I've used it as a GM and as a player, and it works well.

Grand Lodge

I've used shared google docs before, but never for this. I would definitely be up for it.

Dark Archive

Why not try a map and I've made the corrections to stats.

No worries guys, we'll have maps. Have an example up in a bit.

So this is for a different campaign, but it will look like this.

MAP

I hope this meets everyones standards ;)

Now if I can just remember how I made that....

Dark Archive

Man, that's so much better than my "MSPaint maps I make at work." If you can edit the permissions to let anyone edit the map, then everyone who can access them regularly can move themselves. That removes any kind of DM requiring to make new maps all the time. I'm unfamiliar with using googledocs for maps, but I've played in games that did what I just described.

Anything you do is great I'm just happy to have you as our GM, thank you in advanced.

Also I did some edits to my character sheet let me know if everything looks good (when you get a chance I know you have a lot to do). Thanks!

Dark Archive

NICE to say the least.

Updating sheets today, a little delayed due to a sick kiddo. I'll do my best to be ready to start gameplay before the weekend.

No worries...'tis the season for sick kids! Here's to hoping you pass your Fort save and don't get sick yourself!

No worries I know the feeling, my whole family got sick from December 24th to roughly now and that included my one year old daughter. I hope your kiddo gets better fast!

Scarab Sages

Yeah, my seven month old is sick now.

Still have room?

The Exchange

Ok I've updated my character stats and profile, with luck I got it right this time.

If there is room I would like to bring a Character. If not I understand.
