Round Two- 3 of 5 chutes closed...
Beleg begins thinking hard and twists a few clockworks, another chute closes!
Asuna attempts to insert her lockpicks into the door, jimmying the clockworks. There is a loud clank. One of the chutes reopens!
Kensington moves up to the door and almost without a thought, manipulates the door. Clink! Another chute closes!
Takahiro and Zorlax!
Four of Five Chutes Closed!

"Good work, everyone. I am glad the Society trained us all well enough to think on our feet."
Beleg will lead the party through the door with his Black Blade drawn, casting detect magic along the way.
| GM Tektite |
Beleg opens the door to reveal a circular room. Once-cheerful mosaics of smiling children and adults running through the streets of Absalom line the walls, but age and water damage smear the faces enough to make it seem as though they weep. Sturdy work benches and bookshelves line the walls.
An intricate mess of bronze chains, plates, pendulums, and gears that form a sort of astrolabe dangle high above the room. Catwalks spin out from the walls in three places, curving on a horizontal plane and meeting in an open circle in the middle of the room. Between the catwalk circle dangles the body of a desiccated elf, ragged and dusty scraps of clothing barely covering his thin, bony body. He seems to be dangled in a maze of chains connected to the massive astrolabe above and the chains clank silently as he lolls his head from side to side.
The dotted lines on the map are the catwalks. The desiccated elf is off the ground at level with the catwlaks.

"What do you think, Zorlax?" Beleg whispers back. "Takahiro? It's not a trap is it?"
Beleg moves further into the room to get a better look at the elf. He will leave the elf up to the rest of the party while he scans the book shelves for anything of interest.
| GM Tektite |
Takahiro detects no evil auras within the room.
As Asuna climbs the catwalk to investigate, the desiccated elf’s head lolls to the side again and his eyes flutter open. He stiffens and tugs at his tethers, screaming with rage. “You! You ungrateful, short-lived insects! I was betrayed and dragged on this altar of pride! Mortality is all you crawling beasts deserve!”

@Asuna: You said you were climbing the catwalk. Was that not where you wanted to be?
Kensington readies an arrow, watching the elf closely.
Asuna swings her scythe and cuts deeply into the elf.
Takahiro readies his sling.
Beleg casts a spell, but the spell misses the elf.
Zorlax climbs a catwalk.
The elf begins to cast a spell and Kesington lets his arrow fly. The arrow sinks deep into the elf's chest.

That is exactly where I wanted to be. I was just surprised he let me get that close. Also, you can take 2 off the damage, I put a 6 instead of a 4 in there for some reason.

"Who was this deranged elf? What is he doing here?"
Beleg will resume scanning the books as he casts detect magic about the room.
| GM Tektite |
The elf’s chamber contains many of his ancient tools and earlier experiments in manipulating time. Among the salvageable items are an alchemist’s lab, masterwork artisan’s tools, a wand of magic missile (CL 3rd, 50 charges), and a wand of daze (50 charges). Scattered throughout the room are a variety of coins brought here by the morlocks as offerings—there is 800 gp worth of coins. The greatest treasure, however, is Izryen’s Hourglass, which can easily be removed from the grand device with 30 minutes worth of work.
The party also sees Nuar, the Minotaur Prince, is chained to a dusty couch in the northern spiral of the room and is barely conscious, looking to be on the edge of death. His body is covered in wounds and he’s quite confused about how he got here, knowing only that he went to sleep in his
home and awoke in a cave to find himself being nearly beaten to death by a horde of morlocks.
Beleg the Galtan
|
"Someone get over here and heal him." Beleg orders as he squats near Nuar.
"Nuar, my name is Beleg and these are my companions. We are with the Pathfinder Society and we are here to rescue you. Are there any other enemies waiting for us that we should be worried about?"
Beleg the Galtan
|
Beleg repeats his introduction. "You are Nuar, the Minotaur Prince? We are Pathfinders. I believe you know Grandmaster Torch. He is an associate of ours and we have been asked to find you."
"Do you know what brought you down here or what their purpose was with you? Do you know if it is safe to leave? Are there any other foes we should be worried about? If you are feeling better once my friends have healed you we will gladly escort you out of here and back into Absalom proper."
Beleg the Galtan
|
"Well we should get you out of here as quickly as possible. We just need to attend to this potentially powerful and dangerous artifact."
Once the more healing-competent in the party have fixed Nuar up Beleg will address the party, "Zorlax, Takahiro, stay with Nuar and make sure he is alright. Kensington, Asuna and I will go look at this hourglass and see what we can do."

Takahiro heals the minotaur enough to allow the big fellow to walk. He thanks the party again for helping him, though he still has no idea how he came to be here. If the party reveals that it was Grandmaster Torch’s
doing, the Minotaur Prince laughs and declares, “That’s simply not possible, we are the best of friends!” and then refuses to listen to any more such talk.
Beleg climbs onto the catwalk and finds that the hourglass radiates strong transmutation magic. Beleg realizes that if one with arcane knowledge studies the hourglass for a few minutes, can determine the position of any celestial body in the sky at that moment.
Once everyone is ready, the party begins to exit the Tangle. With the ease on a minotaur could have, Nuar easily navigates the Tangle and the party is topside within an hour.
When the party returns to Torch, the man only smiles and nods, saying he know how to pick the right Pathfinders for the job...
The End....

Beleg unceremoniously drops his cigarette to the ground and stomps it out before saying, "Well done, everyone. Until next time." He walks back onto the streets of Absalom on his own.
Thanks everyone! Great game! Hope to see some of you in the next adventure.
