In case anyone's interested:
Type: Thief (skirmisher)
Obyrn is fast striker and a faster talker. He'll be polite and diplomatic when he has to, but if he can lie his way out of a bind he will do so. In battle, he looks for the enemy's weak spots, always skirting around the main fight to get behind. When he can't do that, he'll feint to present a frontal attack but quickly turn it into a surgical strike. Occasionally, he'll throw in a casting of truestrike. Obyrn also has eyes like a hawk and a good deal of experience with spotting, disabling, and/or dodging traps, so it's a good idea to let him go first and do the scouting.
When not on a mission or squeezing a mark, Obyrn is a hard and fairly taciturn man with few words and even fewer hobbies, other than stealing from rich folk who waste their money anyways. He's loyal to his friends, surprisingly indifferent to gold (but not entirely so), and ruthless to his enemies. Especially the Aspis. He hates those guys.

Súrë Hísië |
I think either of those would work. Play whatever you want I guess.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
I think the Sorceress would be better here. But, as before, I suggest playing whichever you'd prefer.
Súrë Hísië |
I keep forgetting to get Súrë a farm.
Velidor Gamestalker |
sorry all. winter weather killed my electricity/internet for a bit.
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
Yikes, the dreaded greataxe crit strikes again. Sorry Súrë. I'll be contributing to your raise.
Súrë Hísië |
Thanks for any help anyone is willing to give. Súrë has already had to raise Ilivan once so he's a bit behind on wealth.
I'm not too upset about it really. It wasn't anyone's fault or due to stupid decisions or whatnot. I just got really unlucky. And like I said, it feels just since I've killed several of Tek's characters, lol.
But of course it is a bit sad because Súrë is a very naïve and child-like character and one of my favorite to play purely for the RP that comes along with him. After the fight if we have time to get him raised (we are in a decent-sized city at least), I'll try to write up something good about his experience.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Tess will kick in some on the Raise as well.
Súrë Hísië |
Sure, don't you have a reroll?
Shhhhh.
I do. I'm choosing not to use it.
Jaysin Deckert |
Jaysin, despite his apparent demeanor, is always willing to lead a helping hand to those that need it. I'll chip in also (assuming I have any to chip in with, I haven't looked).
Súrë Hísië |
I think I will pay for the Restorations with PP and the Raise Dead with gold. Thanks for the help everyone! I hope Súrë is a worthwhile companion!
Tessara Omelion PFS |
I've got right around 800 or something close amount of gold right now, that'd id be happy to kick in.
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
I'll kick in 1000gp. If we can manage it, I've got almost 2000gp on hand for the purposes of raising Súrë in media res. (Obyrn died on his last adventure after getting run over by an elephant, so he's also behind as well by about 4500gp, hence the 1000gp gift and 1000gp loan.)
Something that I think gets over-looked pretty often is that any character, even those without the ability to cast healing spells, can attempt a DC 15 Heal check untrained to stabilize a dying character. If you've got anything in your Wisdom stat, you've got a decent chance of success.
Jaysin Deckert |
True, I didn't even think of that. I just knew I couldn't heal him.
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
True, I didn't even think of that. I just knew I couldn't heal him.
I didn't either until afterwards. Oh well! At least it looks like we can get him raised!
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Take your time, Tek. We're here.
Well, most of us are...looking at you, Sure, lol.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
If we survive this encounter, how many fights do we have left, DM?
I mean, we will obviously put Jaysin in the same alley as Sure (what a horrible place, lol), but it's going to be tough for the four of us from here on out.
GM Tektite |
We are essentially finished with this scenario. I will try to get a summary posted this evening, and send out chronicles sheets, first thing in the morning at the latest.
If you haven't posted a Day Job, please do so now.
And if we could figure out the math.funds needed to get Sure and Jaysin raised.
Súrë Hísië |
I think Sure has enough gold and PP to raise himself but I would really appreciate any help you guys are willing to offer. I've already had to raise his bird Ilivan twice (once without help from the party I think) so I'm a little behind on wealth for my level.
Thanks everyone!
Also, I keep forgetting Sure has a farm:
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Velidor Gamestalker |
name: Velidor Gamestalker
player: Frank Bird
PFS #: 114768-8
Day Job: Hunters Lodge Survival: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
Faction: Sovereign Court
many thanks for running this.
also how much do the dead folks need to rez themselves? Velidor will chip in as well and have the GM subtract from his chronicle
Súrë Hísië |
Here are our costs. After raise dead you are left with two negative levels so you need a pair of restoration spells to get rid of them.
Raise dead 5,450 gp
Restoration 1,280 gp to dispel a permanent negative level
Restoration 1,280 gp to dispel a permanent negative level
---
8010 gp total
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
I have the Master of Trade vanity for this character, so I'll pay the 'front' cost for Sure's death. That reduces total cost by 545gp, so 15475 total for the two deaths (not counting anything people wish to use prestige to pay for).
Obyrn will contribute an additional 1000gp to each Sure and Jaysin. Tektite, please mark of 2000gp on my chronicle.
Velidor Gamestalker |
Yeah sounds good, Velidor will docket a grand for each so please reflect that on the chronicle sheet.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Tess will do the same. Knock off a grand each on my sheet as well, dm.
Is that enough to get you guys close to raised? Can you handle the rest? If not, I can come up with a bit more.
Lillian Woo |
Take 10 on Diplomacy via Caravan perk for a 25.
Lillian has Master of Trade as well so take 10% off the other res as well..
Mark 2k off of Lillian's chronicle to help too!
Good gaming with yall!
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
So with two MoT vanities we've got:
14930 total cost
-2000 (Obyrn)
-2000 (Lillian)
-2000 (Velidor)
-2000 (Tessara)
6930 remaining
Split:
3465 (Sure, can be reduced with prestige for restorations)
3465 (Jaysin, can be reduced with prestige for restorations)
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
(Obyrn is taking 10 for 25 on his Day Job too, see post near the top.)
Good gaming with you all as well! Thanks for running, Tektite.
Jaysin Deckert |
I have 1114 gp on me now. I'll use whatever PPs I can to reduce the cost as much as I can. I very much appreciate the help. Of course, if I survived long enough to earn any additional gold/PPs I'll use them.
Am I wrong, or can I use PPs to raise myself?
Súrë Hísië |
Sure will use PP for one of the restorations.
@Jaysin: you can use PP to raise yourself but each spellcasting has to be either PP or gp, you can't mix the two. So I am paying for the raise dead and one restoration with gp and will pay for the second restoration with PP.
Jaysin Deckert |
I guess I'm asking if I can pay for the raise with PPs, I thought it was 16? If the restorations are 2 each I can pay for all of it with PPs and people can save their cash.
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
Restorations are 4PP to dispel a permanent negative level. Up to you. I don't mind helping with gold.
Jaysin Deckert |
I have 20 to spend so I can do 16 for Raise Dead and 4 for one of the Restorations. I think its only fair that I use them before asking others to spend their own gold. Its not their fault I elected to try a low-con fighter/archer.
GM Tektite |
Ok, so what is the final tally then, if Jaysin uses his PP?
14930 total cost
-2000 (Obyrn)
-2000 (Lillian)
-2000 (Velidor)
-2000 (Tessara)
6930 remaining
Split:
3465 (Sure, can be reduced with prestige for restorations)
3465 (Jaysin, can be reduced with prestige for restorations)
Sure: Paying 5384 for Raise and 1 Restoration (PP for 2nd Restore)
Jaysin: Using all PP
So, if Sure is given a 1000 from each member, his out of pocket cost is 1384.
Does this sound right?
Am I only deducting a 1000 from the other four's sheets?
Súrë Hísië |
I think that all sounds right for me. Since Jaysin is using PP the others shouldn't need to give quite as much as they originally pledged.
Lillian Woo |
I have no clue if the math is right.. Lillian was offering each of them 1000. If they dont wanna use it thats fine too.. She was also reducing the price of one raise dead by 10%..
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Yeah, math is hard.
Tess has 2000 gold for those two to divide however they need to do so.
