Richard plans to bring everyone with him.

"I'll follow ya.", Kharax joining his friend.

Alpha will join Richard.

The group, with Richard under the guise of a familiar Smiler approaches the Hawk Palace. Once within sight the orc near the steps lets out a low whistle and holds up a hand to block your path.

Within moments on the walkway above a thin man soon approaches. Three small hawks leap out from behind him and quickly circle overhead.

I see you finally came back. What took you so long and what the hells you bring back wit you? His skin blackened around his mouth where his lips were cut off make his face look as if it is in a constant smile.

"Was some priests at the Grave, but we made soup of them." Richard rasps, trying to mimic the speech and lipless handicap suffered by Smilers. He adds a cough, as if also suffering from a cold. "Found these guys at the gates. Steel Hawk b!@ch was tryin to recruit them, pro'bly to take us on, but I convinced em they should join us instead."

Moving along the rusted metal walkway he leans in to another orc, whispers in his ear and claps him on the back.

He leans down on the railing. Com' on. Hurry it up now.

Richard/The Smiler watches Birdfood, wondering how this will play out.

Richard feels as if Birdfood really does want you to turn over your weapons and magical items. The man seems excited, like he is trying to make an impression.

As you pass all of you weapons and magical equipment to the orc he steps aside and allows you to pass within. Looking up Birdfood walks back across the length of the walkway and back inside the small palace.

Moving in the orc leads you a different direction as he goes down a small set of stairs into a set of eastern double doors. Once inside the orc shuts the door and returns to his post. This large throne room is split into two levels. The southern level is where visitors are to stand to voice heir concerns while the northern half is where Birdfood is found standing with his hawks. A large lopsided throne made of junk and furs looms above. Birdfood smacks his hand on the side of the metal throne. Now then..... Tell me your story. What happened at Aldronard's Grave and why are you back so soon?

just an fyi I have a cybernetic arm. Do not know if that is considered magic or not but it can't be detached either way

Im assuming since Richard is disguised as one of his men he isn't subjected to the same order to surrender weapons and gear? Also, does Birdfood or the orcs have a way of determining magical items other then through mundane visual means?

Richard was also requested to turn in his valuables for safekeeping. From what you can tell he does not seem to be using any magic to determine what items are magical or not.

Richard would have turned in his sword, but nothing else since the Smilers he encountered before had very little. The rest of Richard's items are kept in his handy haversack, or are currently concealed under the disguise self illusion.

"Takin out the clerics was easy." Richard rasps. "But after dark the ghost came out.. turns out the rumors were real about it! Damned thing killed the boss, or rather, made him kill himself... Figured we should report about it."

Richard takes out the "hand" axe from his bag to show Birdfood.

"These fellas." He gestures to Alpha, Kharax, and Lewdon. "They was askin about the Lords of Rust. Word's gettin out about it I suppose."

Richard steps back to let his companions speak for themselves.

"Affirmative. We are here to make our report."

Birdfood raps his knuckles on the throne as he throws his hand forward.

That is great.... just great. He laughs. You see cause just hours ago... He trails off as he walks to the west and opens the door. The orc in the red tattered cloak shoves a smiler inside the throne room. The man falls groveling to his knees. .... You see cause Jax here just told me that a group came in and nearly killed everyon' there. Said he barely escaped wit his life. Now then please enlighten me once 'gin, and this time wit' tha truth. He says drawing a bow from behind the throne.

Keep in mind that the room is split and the throne section is 5 feet up in elevation.

"Depends on who you want to believe." Richard says, glaring at Jax. "A coward who ran away, or someone who brought new blood that could make you number one in Scrapwall..."

Birdfood lets out a low whistle as he draws back his bowstring. The arrow releases with barely a twang as it embeds itself in the kneeling smiler's head, ending his life. Worthless... Birdfood says under his breath as he kicks the smiler's body from the ledge.

Turning his attention back to Richard the man's eyes narrow. Seems I don't wanna believe nobody. He lets a sharp whistle loose through his exposed teeth causing his three hawks to lurch from the throne at the group.

Alpha makes a mad dash towards the party's gear. Provoking from the birds and probably Birdfood.

"Kharax, make room!" Richard calls to his companion as he pulls out a cold iron sickle from his haversack and hands it to Lewdon. "Looks like he's after you. Why don't to go take that bow of his and beat him with it?"

Stepping away from the hawks, Richard casts a spell, making Lewdon vanish.

Lewdon is invisible for 2 rounds.

No one stated if they gave anything to Richard, so I'm going with a weapon from his own inventory.

GM: what size are the hawks? Do they threaten an area?

Lewdon Grabs the weapon from Richard as he runs tword and and climbs up the raised platform. "Ima gonna shove dat bow up his nose"

Richard would have waited for Kharax to move in order to cast his spell from a non-threatened area. Also, Lewdon is invisible, so Kharax should probably target Alpha with enlarge.

Good point, unless Lewdon pops up from invisibility first. Technically I am last among the party members.

Alpha rushes in as the birds peck at his metal hide.

Kharax begins to cast a long complex spell. Birdfood looks about frantically as Lewdon disappears. He sneers as he steps back and fires a series of arrows at the charging Alpha instead.

One of the arrows punctures through Alpha as the hawks continue their assault. Outside the orc continues to escape as he runs down the platform screaming and rubbing his eyes.

Reaching into his magical haversack, Richard pulls forth a dragon pistol and fires a spread of scattershot into the flock of birds to his right.

Alpha grabs his shield while stepping forward and bashes in Birdfood's face in.

The half-orc then steps aside and casts a spell carefully as he approaches the platform.

Casting Ironskin for +4 natural armor; combined with my mage armor for 19 AC.

Richard fires his dragon pistol bird shot into the mass of hawks, severely wounding two of them.

Still invisible Lewdon reaches out and snatches the bow right out of the unsuspecting Birdfood. His eyes turn to surprise as his prized bot is torn from his grasp.

Using his shield Alpha smashes the blunt end right into Birdfoot's face, causing his nose to bleed.

Kharax's spell completes as he begins to strengthen his skin to the hardness of steel.

Birdfood draws a longsword from his back and fends off Lewdon and Alpha.

I don't need me bow to finish off the likes of you mauraders.

Stepping back Richard hurls a dagger at the large hawk. The blade ears right through one of it's wings nearly knocking it to the ground.

After tossing the bow to Richard Lewdon becomes a whirlwind of blades. Though next time her should open his eyes as he never came close to the hawk nor Birdfood as he clatters harmlessly against the metal makeshift throne.

Shiftong around to the other side of the throne the two hawks bite at Alpha.

One of the hawks manages to leave a deep scratch across Alpha's hard frame. He continues by uncaring andslams his shield once again into Birdfood's face, stunning the smiler momentarily.

Kharax moves up the small platform with ease and places a healing hand on Alpha.

Birdfood, tired of being slammed by this shiled arcs his longsword back and slams it into Alpha's body twice.

Ducking under the hawks Richard rolls to the side of the room while Lewdon once again swings at everything in sight. Birdfood is injured while the blue hawk falls from the sky.

Alpha- Do you mean This Racial Trait? I don't see the additional 7 on your roll. As far as I understand it isn't considered a charge, but rather a one time use / lose mechanic.

Alpha's circuitry begins to glow as he slams his shield at Birdfood once again. The shield clatters against the scrapeheap called a throne, knocking a small piece loose.

Ah, Gotcha! Confused when I didn't see a spell. Though you did give me a new idea for a gestalt class of Skirnir Magus and Shield Champion Brawler. :)

Stepping closer Kharax reaches out and electrocutes Birdfood as his magical charge amplifies through the Smiler's studded leather armor.

Birdfoot continues to slam his longsword at Alpha as the rest of the group surrounding him has some semblance of cover.
