Richard lets the cord play out from the gun as he moves to the southeast corner of the room. He then braces the weapon and presses the recoil button.

Not sure how much control I have over the cable, but Richard is not trying to pull the robot all the way to him, but rather prevent it from getting to melee with the others until they can finish off the other robot.

Maruf snarls as the robots fall, then draws in a deep guttural snort that somehow seems to puff him up, make him more powerful. All leveled! Perception went up to +8.
"Right, right, Alpha. You're much more solid than those puny things. Speaking of which," he says as he grabs his spear off the ground. "I need something to hit. Let's check out those doors over there." He moves to open the doors to the west in the room.

"I think I'm getting the hang of this thing." Richard smiles as he reels in the grapnel to his new weapon and reseats the spike into the barrel with a click.
Before the Cobbler can kick open the next door, he steps past him and holds up a hand. "Before we move on, I'd like to take a closer look at the symbols on this wall. For all we know, this room could hold a clue to what's going on down here."
Could I retry Linguistics now that we have more time and have leveled up?

Also, should we restore spells and hp from leveling? If not, maybe we should step out and rest.

Think I'm going to stick with Kharax as is. Kineticist would be fun, but this may be my only opportunity to play Con caster :) Besides, level 2 spells now and I'll need spells to appropriately craft things.

"We have collected some valuable items down here. Should we return to Torch for a supply run?"
It might be a while before Richard can pick up a craft feat. I'm not even sure what would be a good one for him.

"Well, my arcane energies seem to be stronger; Torracha is absorbing some strange magic during our adventures. I think converting that to various magical crafts will come in handy. Though I'm still a blacksmith in trade, so I can make weapons and armor, too; just can't infuse it with the magicks."
Looking over at Richard, he asks, "Got anything in mind?"

"Shoes!" Maruf spits out. "When this is all over and we get the flame started back up, the economy in this town is going to turn around, I swear it! And then I'll be back to my cobbling and dabbling in my alchemy, just the way it should be!"

"Shoes. There's an idea!" Richard pauses in his note-taking to consider the Cobbler's unintentional suggestion. "Do you have any ideas for something that could work with that Kharax? Maybe something to help me get around a little quicker, increase traction, put a spring in the step. I'd be willing to invest a good amount of silverdisks to aid any research. And I think I've made some contacts within town, so I could boost your reputation with a few good words if you like."
Trying to keep items close to the campaign theme. Maybe daredevil boots or a Dexterity item?

"Hmm... perhaps... give 'em a cool name! Like boots of amazing agility, or socks of surprising finesse.", ideas flooding the half-orc's mind. "Could use your help on this Cobbler; Dick here could be your first customer!", Kharax giving what would be a toothy smile if his face wasn't hidden behind the notched wooden and iron mask.
Seeing Maruf's impatience, Kharax nods. "Yeah, let's finish this. There's still a f&*@!%$# torch to light, amirite Cobbla?"

Sorry, spent last week trying to catch up with posts and real life.
After defeating the two robots, everyone in the party suddenly feels more powerful, skilled, experienced. Heading through the western doors, you find the north door opens to a corridor leading to the main entry chamber. The southern door opens to large chamber. An immense machine looms to the south of this room, its upper portion obscured by tangles of hanging cables and cords. The device looks something like an enormous oven, its front open with a rotating belt of green leathery material connecting to a wide metal table. Metal desks with flashing lights sit to the east, while a second rotating belt of leather moves through an opening in the east wall. Two dead orcs lie at the base of this second belt.
As you enter, you all notice a robot made of what appears to be burnished brass, this construct resembles a suit of armor with a glowing glass orb for an eye. It moves to engage you!

Richard fires the grapnel gun, hitting the robot and embedding the grapnel! The robot's hard exterior seems to negate most of the damage!

@GM: the grapnel gun spike is adamantine, right? Or is this a different kind of DR? Also, can I disengage the grapnel spike somehow while a spiked enemy is still up?
Richard drops his grapnel gun and grabs a small glowing bottle from his haversack. Aiming the end at the robot, he pulls a small trigger, opening the end and releasing an arc of electricity across the room.
