Assuming these are not evil outsiders
They are not outsiders.
Is there a dragon off the map, or is that part of the fire cyclone?
The dragon is off the map, but dragons are very fast flyers.
Anything she can tell Alie is within spell range?
Only the cinderghosts.

GM Tarondor |

Rurik shrugs off the horrid cold of the cinderghosts and keeps on fighting. Dora shoots one of the Cinderghosts plaguing the dwarf. Wynn destroys that ghost and shoots another with his ghost salt arrows.
Meanwhile, Luna and Alie prepare to face the dragon.
Suddenly, the dragon appears, surrounded by a dark cloud of ash and smoke. looking to overfly the area and strafe you with a breath weapon. Instantly, Luna casts a spell at at it, wrapping it in chains of purest light. The eldritch chains tighly bind the dragon and it plummets to the ground, crashing just to your north, writhing and fuming.

"You lot clearly don't know a handled situation when you see it," Luna mutters. With a snap of her fingers, a hideous devil carrying a wicked looking glaive and sporting a grotesque beard appears next to the dragon. With a smooth movement that comes almost the second it appears, it swings its glaive down at the dragon's neck.
Standard action SM5 SLA, summon a bearded devil.
The bearded devil performs a coup de grace.
Coup: 3d10 + 36 ⇒ (6, 3, 6) + 36 = 51
Take 51 damage and a DC 61 Fort save or die

GM Tarondor |

Massive Damage is an optional rule. To the best of my knowledge, PFS doesn't use it. Reading the Guild Guide, I see no references to optional rules, so if the point weren't already moot, I'd rule it doesn't require a Fort save.
A huge and hideous being appears and instantly drives its poleaxe into the dragon's neck, killing it!
COMBAT OVER. The ghosts flee. The phoenix decides to take a pass on self-resurrection.
Examining the dead body of the hapless dragon, you find a key tied to one wrist.

![]() |

The Coup de Grace full round action allows an automatic crit on a helpless target, such as one that is paralyzed, and forces a Fort save against DC 10+the damage dealt or instantly kills the target. That's not an optional rule, it's in the core rulebook -_-

![]() |

Yeah, it's separate from massive damage. I've gotten hit with two of those in PFS, admittedly it was almost funny.

”Did we win? I don’t hear anything? Is everyone okay,” Alie calls out, terrified at the sudden silence.

Hearing no objections...
Isah waves his hand and both Alie and Rusty can see once more!
"And your third wish?" asks the efreeti, obviously eager to be gone from here.

”Sweet! Thank you Master Isah! “ as she pats the wolf
Do we need directions or transportation to our next destination? If nothing else maybe restore one or more spells or use of class ability?

![]() |

Alie can’t think of anything else, being overjoyed to have her vision returned. ”Thank you so much, Mister Genie. I can’t think of anything else I need. I appreciate it! How about anyone else?”

![]() |

How about we wish for all of the apparatus needed for the destruction of the opal be fully functional and in proper working order?
If no one objects, then Wynn will offer that

![]() |

”Oooo, that’s very clever, Wynn. I was being a bit selfish and didn’t consider that. I think that’d be a wonderful final wish...”

![]() |

I have no objections to that.
Rurik looks on with a bit of fascination combined with consternation. "It is all well and good that you ask Isah for aid for our personal issues but let us not forget why we are here. We still need to deal with the Untouchable Opel." Rurik leans heavily on the hilt of his hammer as he finishes speaking.

![]() |

"Much as I would love to consider all the possible benefits of a wish such as this, I would agree, ensuring the success of our mission is the most efficient use."

![]() |

"I didn't figure my lofty ideas would make the cut anyway. They were a touch self-serving. And it wouldn't do for the mission to fail now."

![]() |

” Yeah that sounds like a great plan, guys. Totally agree.“ Dora nods excitedly.

![]() |

"Let us see if it worked." Wynn moves over to the sorceress. "Hey Allie, how many fingers" He then puts up three digits.
Once the visual check passes. He begins to check the status of the machines. Hopefully they are working. Now how to use them. You all still got the instructions"

![]() |

”How do you have 14 fingers, Wynn,” Alie laughs with joy. ”Just kidding! Im back in tip top shape, I think!”

![]() |

"All business. At least our chances are all the better for it." Valrar shakes his head and beckons the Ambassador over for the coming work.

![]() |

”So back to the machines then? We have fixed what, two f them? I wonder if there is another one of two we have to get in working order before we start our real mission?”

![]() |

"Well if the genie did his part, he got the other two fixed. Now to figure out how to use them."

![]() |

"Lets get to it then." Rurik slings his hammer and hefts Fossilblight. "We have the tools and now that flame is controlled we should have everything we need to crack open the Opal." Rurik leads the group back to the pyre and its trueflame.

![]() |

Dora nods excidedly. If all goes according to plan, we should be totally ready to break the Opal and get back to home in a jiffy!

![]() |

"About time. Smashing that rock has made itself a cloud over our little trip and the Society's great minds for a while now."

![]() |

"So let us cook this thing." Wynn says as he follows Rurik back to the pyre. "Who has the decanter?"
I suggest once we get it nice and hot, the one with the decanter pour the water on it and then Rurik give it a nice tap with Fossilblight

GM Tarondor |

All the machines seem to be in working order, but the pyre is still not lit.
Go back and take a look at the description of the pyre.

![]() |

"So, the small elemental didn't do anything before. You want to try it again...or I could always fireball it." Wynn shrugs at the fireball idea.

![]() |

”This might be time for that fireball. Assuming the other machines are working, hopefully that might get things in order.”
