Kragg steps into flank with Triests hoping that the tactical situation will favor him. Bringing down his Morningstar again he hopes for some solid contact this time.

However seeing Trieste start attacking the gem creatures with claws that seem to have appeared out of nowhere was too much to handle as his Morningstar goes wide.

Thame's brow furrowed as his spell was unsuccessful, then he shrugged and held the Crossbow up, firing into the nearby melee. The wizard calmly inserted another bolt in and started cranking the string into place once again. It turned out that Trieste had claws...that was a surprising development. Maybe he'd need to be more careful about interrogating possible allies in the future.

Kragg thinks that maybe on second thought they should have left these fellows alone. Clearly nothing they were doing right now was working at getting them to leave. Still perseverance mattered and Kragg would see Abadar's will done even if it took a while.

The fight continues but eventually, you overpower the Crysmal Trieste You'll be at 0 but victorious.

Kragg opens his eyes and it takes him a moment to figure out what is going on. He is looking at Trieste but she is upside down to him. Finally it dawns on him that he is laying on the ground and she is standing over him. What happened? Is everyone alright?

After Trieste fills him in Kragg groggily gets to his feet. Thanks for the healing. I will be alright thanks to you and Abadar. Gather round though and I will give what blessings I can to you from Abadar. I pray it will be enough.

The wizard shrugged, keeping his crossbow loaded as he waited for the others to compose themselves and deal with injuries.

Lara sheathes her sword and moves to Kragg after the crysmal is destroyed. Murmuring an arcane word of power, she presses a hand to the worst of Kragg's injuries. A soft blue glow surrounds the hand and some of the injuries fade. A moment later, she repeats that arcane word, and more wounds heal. "I have one more spell, but we probably want to save that until we're sure this cave complex is clear."

Kragg rubs his eyes blearily at Lara. Well if that is the case then I want to hurry up and go take a nap. Looking around he sees the path heading north out of hte room. area 6? Anyone chekced that area out yet?

Still G6 to check, and that passage heading north on the east of the map. Kaldan is keen to carry on, but if the party needs to rest he's ok with that?

Thame shifts his feet impatiently at the delay, eager to move on. Likely because he hasn't been bitten, stabbed, or stung yet.

G6, then the other passage sounds good.


The cave tunnel gradually begins to slope upward here, with a faint glimpse of light to the northeast and a warming of the air temperature.
The tunnel exits out of the other side of a small hill not far from Talmandor’s Bounty. A short hike southwest over the hill eventually leads back to area A18.

That gives a quick exit if needed, and an entrance for miners to get at the precious gems. On to the last unexplored area then.

Tired from the fight and exploration Kragg longingly looks at the path to Talmandor's bounty before resigning himself back to the deep. Let us go finish this then. Be careful though as who knows what other creatures we may find down here. IF it looks like we are in trouble there is no reason we can't escape back this way and come back another day.

On to G2 and hopefully not our demise.

G2. Darkened Chamber
Just past a small cave-in on the western wall, the tunnel opens into a rounded cavern with rough and irregular walls. Occasional piles of fallen rock litter the passage, but not to the degree that navigating it is impossible. A fair number of bones litter the cave floor here.

The bones are a minor curiosity, because most of them belong to bipedal creatures, but many are decidedly not humanoid, as evidenced by skull shape, finger bones, and other physiological differences. Proper identification is confounded because the skeletons are not intact; rather, their bones are separated and mixed together like a disassembled jigsaw puzzle.

DC 12 Heal check:
You can determine that at least one skeleton is human and it was not very old at the time of its death.

Noty spotting anything threatening in the dark passage Kragg casts light upon his shield to inspect the cavern. Seeing the pile of bones he winces at the thought of the previous colonists fate. Trying not to show his worry he works his way over to them and inspects the m closer.

He was glad to see though that the vast majority of the bones were from other creatures than humanoids. Still there was a couple of humanoid bones that were disturbing to see. Pointing them out to the others, You see this bone here. This is most definitely the femur of some young human. You can tell that approximate age by the fact that the growth plates on the end are not fully developed. I would guess no more than 9 or 10 is all.

She takes a moment to notice the bones around their feet as they walk.

Filthy creatures. She is afraid to contemplate how many have died at the grasping hands of the chokers.

Kaldan growls in anger when Kragg shows the child's bones. Almost hoping to meet more of the filthy Chokers just to kill them.

Thame wandered into the forbidding cavern with the others, the piles of bones making him forget the fact that one of the group's members was apparently a monster of some kind. Well, if you counted Kaldan, then two. As Kragg and Lara discuss the types of bones and what creatures they might have belonged to, the wizard decided that he very much would like to return to the settlement. Still, there was a bit more work to be done here, so the illusionist peeked around, looking for any valuables that might be resting here with the bones of the unfortunate victims of the chokers.

Kaldan examines the area more closely, "Careful." He whispers, keeping an eye on the unexplored passage. "This could be some predators bone pile."


As you move to leave the light suddenly goes out and two creatures fall from the cavern roof, they open like a hideous octopus, thin, hook-lined tentacles connected by a fleshy web.

While surprised by the sudden assault you soon subdue them eliminating the final threats in the cavern.
