Mikail takes off at a run and dives through the door, hoping to avoid any ill effects of passing his enemy so closely. He ends up next to Hoshiko, and the sends an arrow flying at the creature standing back from the fight, trusting Ferabras to take out the remainder.

Hoshiko steps up and viciously slashes the hobgoblin sergeant to the ground, his horn falling from lifeless hands! Only a single guard remains as Mikail tumbles past him, his arrow not quite hitting its mark!

Cursing the sergeant's horn, Ferabras attacks the remaining guard, saying "We've got to put them down and drag their bodies into the secret passage, or we'll be fighting the whole garrison!"

With a vicious slash Ferabras drops the last guard. However, you can hear noises coming from the floor above!

Ferabras quickly grabs one of the felled guards by the collar and drags him into the hall where his friends are, saying, "Hoshiko, Mikail, grab the other two and bring them this way. If we close the doors behind us quickly, we might have them out of sight before anyone else arrives. Then we hide them and us in the secret passage and lie low for a minute while things settle down."

Hoshiko stands for a second looking at the doorway, and then grabs the other leg and helps Mikail.

As the bodies are hauled away, and Zolarus heals his wounded friends, the secret passage closes and mere moments later you can hear booted feet and muffled voices in Goblinish.
Four sharp horn blasts follow.

Mikail turns to the soldier turned ally. "Are there any other secret doors into the main areas that we can find? Perhaps come at them from a different direction?" Turning to the rest of his companions, he continues "Or should we just fight our way through?"

"I have no clue what they are saying out there but from the tone of it it cant be good. I am more inclined to fight our way through the hobs if there are more."

"That'll teach me to try to be sneaky," Fera grumbles. "I don't know what they're saying either, but I bet they'll find us. If they do, I agree, we must fight."
He turns to hear what Belring has to say about other exits from the secret passage, saying sadly, "I fear we've exposed your safe haven."

Belring shrugs. "I think they suspected I was here. Just not where here was. There's another exit on the opposite side of the keep, in the barracks." He heads in that direction.

Mikail quickly follows. When they reach the door, he turns to the rest of the group. I will scout like I have been. Stay here for a moment.

Mikail slowly opens the door, which opens on to a small barracks room. Triple-decker bunks line the walls of this small room. Each cot contains a straw mattress and blanket which, judging by the smell, haven’t been washed in a few weeks. Small storage lockers lay strewn across the floor, their contents spilling out everywhere.
From outside, he can hear barked words in Goblinish, which have the cadence of orders and responses. Booted feet move through the first floor and sound like they're taking up positions around the keep's first level.

Mikail moves quietly into the room after gesturing for the others to stay put for now. He moves over to the door and extends all his senses outward.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 10 = 24
Namely, can I tell about how many "booted feet" are crashing about, and the locations of the closest ones.
We may end up in a pitched fight, but that doesn't mean we can't even the odds a bit with some hit and run first!

Sounds at least five-six sets of four booted feet moving in step. They seem to be taking positions up around the interior of the keep. I'll mark the ones you can discern on the map.

Mikail creeps back to his companions shaking his head. He ushers everyone back into the passages where they can speak freely. "There is no way we can fight our way through that. There are at least ten more that have shown up, and are spread all over the place in either pairs or groups of four. It would be suicide to try and attack." Looking to their newest addition, Mikail asks him. "Well, if they are all down here, any way for us to get upstairs without going through these creatures?"

Belring shakes his head. "This and the pantry are the only exits into the Keep I know of. There are stairs to the north, but we have to get to them somehow."

Looking at the map, I am curious. There are two ladders represented in the secret passage, on either side of the south spur of the building, near the central hub. Is that not a possible way around this?
Mikail thinks hard. "There are two of them in the hall way outside of the room this door leads to. Perhaps we can take them, while someone bars the door at the end to keep any reinforcements from coming in?"

An interesting, hopeful point, Mikail! I'm curious about that too. In the meantime:
"That might be our best strategy, though I could certainly wish otherwise," Ferabras says to the fox-man. "If it comes to that, I'll hold the door against the larger force while you all take out the others. Might be I can end one or two of them while I'm at it."
He pauses a moment in thought, then asks, "And what do we do after that? Keep fighting them in the doorway? With enough healing and magical support, I might be able to take them one at a time - but it won't be easy."

Mikail shakes his head. "I was thinking more hit and run. Take out the two closest, and barricade the door. By the time that the break it down, we can be on the other side of the building striking out from there. As long as they dont find the secret tunnel, are safe."

Doh, sorry! In my defense, work has been a bear and I usually post during my quiet moments at work.
Belring shrugs. "There are ladders upstairs, into some sort of armory I think. I never went up there before I was injured and well, afterwards I was too hurt to make the climb."

The ladder goes upward into the second story. In the blackness, Ferabras can see racks of armor, mostly heavy armor and shields all covered with a layer of dust.

Ferabras climbs off the top of the ladder into the armory, then looks around to see if he can find a door out of it.
It looks like there's only a secret door on the map. Is it visible from this side?
And is the ladder attached to the wall, or could we pull it up? Might be a way to hide our tracks a bit, if we pull it up and cover the hole so it's not noticeable from down below. Of course, Fera's last clever idea left a trail of blood for them to follow, so...

Zolarus's blessing fills the hearts of his companions as sounds of battle ring out! Ferabras smashes into his, doing half of the damage he would expect, while Hoshiko strikes hers, but does no damage at all! Belring emerges from below, drawing his sword once he's up!

Ferabras takes some solace in the fact that the animated armor is just as ineffective at hitting as he is. Raising his blade high, he brings it down hard on the floor! He follows up with another futile bite at the metal suit.

Ferabras nearly misses the suit of armor, but a last moment aid from Zolarus guides his blade! Mikail hits as well, but his rapier is having a hard time penetrating the steel. Hoshiko's strike sends electricity rippling through the suit of armor and damages it!
Akre steps up and swings at the suit to the north! Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 for 1d8 ⇒ 8 damage!

Blood running down his face from the wound he just sustained, he decides to change tactics and shifts his focus to simply keeping the armour busy, or at least its weapon out of the way for Hoshiko. He steps back calling out to her "Move in, I cant hold him."
