Fijeet waits anxiously, oddly quiet with bow drawn.

Filk messes with the door until it opens. Each time, the wings slash out, but as no one is near, they hurt no one.

In side are a pair of large stone coffins, as well as several more on shelves. In one of the side ones is the skeleton of an adolescent boy with an obvious prominent chin. The corpse is clutching a water stained book.

Moving in, or just ignoring everything now that the door is open?

Fijeet follows Atrix in, and takes the time to look around at the shelves before looking really closely at the water-stained book.

Fijeet is able to determine that while the corpse is grasping it, he'll be able to easily remove it.

When he does, he is able to read the dedication, which is "to Luca".

The pages are heavily water damaged. FiJeet realizes that reading it will be very slow going due to this. He thinks that if he uses his linguistics training he will be able to speed this up to tens of minutes rather than hours.

There is nothing more of note in the tomb.

With all that effort getting in we might as well get everything we can out of the book. Besides, I don’t think we are in any hurry.

It takes the team (2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11) 110 minutes to completely read through the book. All in all, the team learns the following:

The journal recounts the adventures of Marcius Sarini in Sargava as a young officer. The book narrates interactions with Sargavans and bloody skirmishes with monsters. During his time abroad, Marcius befriended many locals and learned much about the traps and poisonous plants they used for hunting. He also met a brilliant woman named Eshebe, who had a son not quite a year after she and Marcius became acquainted. The final part of the book discusses hunting trips, including a successful manticore hunt and a plan to kill a chimera, but the ending of the story is missing.

Luca’s coffin also contains a palm-sized golden disk with a winged eye carved onto it.

"Ok, the break is over! Lets check the building on the other side of the yard before moving to the main building."

Eager to get back moving, Filk hustles out of the door, and backtrack to the location where the party fought the mites and their pet creature. Once the others have caught up with him, he starts prodding the door with his telekinetic powers.

Not noticing anything at the door, Atrix throws the door open. Bones litter the bare stone floor of this stable. The reek of decay hangs heavy in the air.

You hear some chittering, as a trio of centipedes covered in the obvious signs of demon's bile come out.

"Hey Valerka, give me some space to retreat!" Filk shouts, noticing he'll have some difficulty avoiding the centipede's attacks now. He does one truly point blank shot stone at the enemy, before slipping away to the back.
