Elisai Aurear |
Just got back from work, and am just slightly confused here. Obviously we were entitled to a Perception check to spot the hidden weapons which Elisai failed...but you rolled for Grace instead of Jessica, and then go on to say that its just Jessica and myself in the room. Why is Elisai allowed a Perception check and Jessica not? Is it Grace or Jessica in the room? I understand that the doors open inwards, but is there anything stopping us from like, just walking <--- or ---> allowing our allies to enter through the door? How far away are these enemies from us? Do I need to cast defensively if I want to cast a spell, or use a move action to attack them?
Just seeking clarification on a few things before I can make my move here.
GM ShadowLord |
Clarification and slight retcon: Jessica and Elisai are in the room when the doors close to allow the nobles to dress. Elisai catches sight of Iesha Foxglove hiding something under her clothing as she lifts it from the floor and wastes no time throwing open the doors to the suite when she smells foul-play. There is no surprise round and we are starting with round one. Elisai and Sunday are up first, both enemies are flat-footed.
The doors to the suite both bang open loudly and reveal Jessica and Elisai standing in the doorway. Standing behind her is Iesha Foxglove, completely naked except for a brilliant longsword in her hand and anger gleaming in her eyes. Aldern is similarly equipped off to Jesccia's side.
R1: Elisai, Sunday, Foxgloves, Jessica, Grace, Delendir
Sunday Daud |
Sunday howls as dark spirits burst forth from him, rushing forth into the room he swipes at Iesha. While he doesn't see Aldern off to the side the wisps do and lash out accordingly, red eyes and hungry teeth gnashing.
Bastard Sword): 1d20 + 5 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 18

So 7 points of Negative Energy damage if they hit.
Delendir Farnes |
Delendir lowers his silver hip when his eye catches something shinning in the lion statuettes. Storing his spiriting potion back to the folds of his tabard, the half-elf walks towards the fireplace.
Letting his hand into one of the lion's head he shows a small shiny key when he retrieves back "So, what do we have here? This should be opening something Aldern does not want to be found..."
At that moment the shouts at the other room alert the ranger who turns his attention saving the key on his belt pouch. As the doors open revealing the naked body of Iesha armed with a sword Delendir quickly attempts to reach his weapons "Wh-what the...!"
When Daud reacts like a hurricane bursting into the chamber cutting away his path with the bastard sword, the half-elf just manages to articulate "I knew it bloody shifter scum!"
GM ShadowLord |
Sunday's bastard sword cleaves a massive wound into Iesha. The woman screams loudly from the pain, but the sound is wrong somehow. Her scream is more guttural in nature than you are accustomed to hearing with human cries of pain.
"IESHA! No!" Aldern chest heaves as his eyes widen and he blurts at Sunday. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY WIFE!"
Sunday Daud |
"Nothing I won't do to you." Sunday casually remarks.
What color is the blood?
Wicked Grace |
"Oooh, I am good." Grace admits as her hand moves to her whip. "I knew they'd be stupid enough to tip their hand if we gave them a target."
Sunday Daud |
"... orrrr we could have just tied them up instead of putting you and Jessica in danger."
GM ShadowLord |
Aldern's face turns red and as he screams and Sunday spittle flies from his mouth in a furious rage ,"I'll, I'll! I'll kill you for this! You're dead! DEAD DO YOU HEAR ME!"
Looking down at his blade Sunday notes that the blood dripping is much darker than human blood, nearly black in fact.
Sunday Daud |
"Dead. Daud. Same thing." Sunday responds with a shrug.
Getting lost in the blood running down his blade and without thinking he raises the blade up to his lips and gives it a quick lick.
Bland. The priest's was better.
Elisai Aurear |
"Calm down, sit tight and wait your turn" Elisai responds, addressing Aldern as she slashes with her greatsword at the closest enemy.
Greatsword Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15
Sunday Daud |
Um, you're adjacent to both :3
GM ShadowLord |
Elisai's slash connects and draws more black blood from Iesha. Assuming it's her, let me know if it's Aldern.
Iesha takes a step back to flanking position on Sunday and then both Foxgloves tear into him with murderous intent. Iesha thrusts her sword through Sunday's belly and follows it up with a right hook to his face. From behind Aldern sticks his blade into Sunday's shoulder and a jab into his kidney. (9+3+8+5=25 damage)
As blood begins to spill all over Sunday's body Iesha's eyes light up and she croaks, "Look dear, he bleeds RED blood! Let's keep checking to be sure." She licks her lips as some of the barbarian's blood had made it's way onto her face. A sensual "Mmmmmmm." echoes from her lips as she focuses entirely on Sunday now.

They'ze both wounded! Lol They are flat footed though so you probably hit :)

Staggering from the blows Sunday smiles cruelly at the woman. "Well, do I taste good?" he asks before stabbing her back followed by some very hungry spirits.

Jessica DuMorne |
Since Iesha provoked moving to where she did I'll do that first, could change the fight a fair bit depending on the roll.
AoO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d10 ⇒ 4
Yeah, not like that it won't matter.
Jesscia saw Sunday get attacked and injured heavily by the two creatures and knew that something had to be done. She carefully began to cast her prayer to Shelyn so she could heal Sunday before pulling back.
cast cure moderate defensively (target 19): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
But in her surprise at this sudden turn of events and the revulsion of the creature licking his blood she is too distracted and ruins the prayer. She knew it was time to move aside so taht another could help deal with the things so she took a quick step back out of immediate danger.
AoO 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 171d10 ⇒ 8
AoO 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d10 ⇒ 5
GM ShadowLord |
Jessica - Can you clarify the three AoO's you have listed? Iesha took a 5' step north to flanking position (diagonally with Aldern) and should not have provoked unless you have something I'm missing.
"Iesha" collapses to the ground in a black bloody pile as Sunday makes quick work of her. Aldern screams something in a deep baritone, barking several commands in quick order. Unfortunately no one here recognizes the language he is speaking.
Delendir Farnes |
Sense motives: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
Delendir finally reacts moving into the first empty spot he finds in the room, next to Elisai and Daud.
As he moves in, he draws his longbow, and once inside he aims towards the false Aldern and pulls from the string of his bow. The string is powerfully tensed but the ranger uses all his strength available in the pull, raising a short prayer to Erastil not to hit Elisai as he releases his arrow.
mwk composite longbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Piercing damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Using Deadeye Bowman to avoid Elisais's cover.
Jessica DuMorne |
Whoops, didn't realize that, I didn't get a look at the map at start so I thought she moved further. The others are in case they come up later on in the round and I forgot to add one for that section. Do you want me to roll those myself or would you prefer to take care of rolling them when it's needed. Also, I forgot to take my 5 foot step on the map, I have remedied that error.
Wicked Grace |
"And if things had gone wrong, we would all be sitting in a jail cell. Better to let them make the first move." Grace argues as Sunday rushes to attack.
The diva stays where she is, letting her comrades rush into battle. Though she does draw her whip, more importantly she begins to sing, swaying her hips as her sultry voice cuts through the sounds of the fight.
Took a walk
Out in the woods
Had a talk with a hood about some goods
He asked me what's your flavor
I said I need a favor
I'm a little short on gold but
I'm a good good neighbor
Inspiring Courage. Everyone in the party now gets a +2 comp bonus on attacks and damage as well as saves vs. charm and fear.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33
Grace frowns, weaving her words into a second verse of the song.
Our friend
Who might not be Aldren
Just issued a command to someone and
Since his "wife" is on the floor
I wonder who he
Might be talking to.
Look out for an ambush.
Sunday Daud |
Note to self: people pretending be nobles inconvenienced = wrong, Me getting stabbed = not wrong
Wicked Grace |
Having to fight our way through the city guard = wrong. Grace had full faith that we could take these idiots.
Sunday Daud |
Grace hasn't been turned into a pin cushion though :3
GM ShadowLord |
Jessica - Gotcha! I don't mind you rolling them like that, I just missed (or forgot) what was happening there. We're cool, you can continue doing that in the future if you wish.
Delendir expertly aims around Elisai to bury the arrow in Aldern's left shoulder. Bursts of black blood pump from his wound onto his bare chest as he grinds his teeth in pain.
R2: Elisai, Sunday, Foxgloves, Jessica, Grace, Delendir
Elisai Aurear |
"Nice lyrics" Elisai remarks in an admiring tone in regards to Grace's song as she twists, turning her blade into Aldern's side, trying her best to slice cleanly through him.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
GM ShadowLord |
Elisai comes up just short of striking Aldern as he proves to be slightly more difficult to reach than "Iesha" was. Aldern's face begins to bulge and and shift as if the bones underneath his skeleton were moving. His entire body contorts, pops, crunches, stretches and begins to expand. His body undergoes a horrific transformation as "Aldern" is now replaced by a hairless, leathery biped that has a face dominated by grotesque and unsettling whorls and slits instead of actual features moves out. Still holding the longsword it groans loudly and speaks in Aldern's voice. "You are not the only one trained in the art of swordplace blood-man! The brotherhood has declared you shall die and I shall strike you down and feast on your blood!"
With vicious verocity the hairless creature creature whirls and slams the longsword into Sunday's neck, hitting bone in the process. 26 damage (Crit).

Crit Damage: 2d8 + 8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8, 6) + 8 + 2 + 2 = 26
The door to the bathroom flies open and another hairless third creature emerges. This one is not wielding any weapons though, just two meaty clawed fists. It looks at Sunday and attempts to finish him off. It lays into him with it's massive slam attack. 10 damage
Attack Sunday: 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 13
Damage Sunday: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10
Clarification on the map. Aldern shifted form into the same exact creature that emerged from the door. "Aldern" is bordered blue and the new entry is bordered red. I moved Iesha out, this "new" creature is standing in the place that she fell down in.
From downstairs Kiley and Tal's voice echo up the stairs as they burst inside, "Where are you guys?! Are you ok? Do you need us?"

Um actually the 18 is his normal hp, his Raging HP is 28 so he would still be up, sorry I haven't been posting it, wasn't thinking.
Sunday Daud |
Post doesn't appaer to be edited, still getting nommed.
Elisai Aurear |
Elisai attempts to 'drop' Aldern (if hes dead before I get my turn I'll change targets to #3 as appropriate) with a massive swing of her Greatsword, seeking to avenge her friends serious injuries.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
Delendir Farnes |
As the new shifter appears closing over Delendir, the half-elf drops his bow and shouts "Creatures of the darkness, go back to where you pertain!" while he draws his magical longsword. Grasping the weapon recovered from the dead body of the goblin Koruvus with both hands, the ranger unleashes a strike with all his strength inspired by Grace's words and Daud's resistance.

The ranger deepens the blade down the creature's throat releasing a shout of tension as the blood squirts everywhere.
Is Daud's 12 AC correct?!
Sunday Daud |
@Delendir: When he's not raging yes, he's not wearing any armor. His Berserker archetype lets him add his Con bonus to his AC when he is though so it would have been 15 (still take the -2 for raging). I haven't played him in so long that I forgot about it, and the fast healing he gets -_-
So with that he would currently have a raging HP of 5/65.
Unless the GM is tired of my crap. Sorry Shadowloard :(
If that's the case feel free to ignore this next part.
Still keeping his grin as the blood scarfs down his neck Sunday keeps up his attack on his would-be headsmen.

Unable to get close enough to Sunday to heal him directly Jessica does the only thing she can, she gripped her glaive one handed and held her holy symbol up sending a burst of energy out that washed over everyone but the two standing things. That accomplished she re-gripped her glaive and watched for an opportunity to swipe at some unsuspecting foe.

Raging HP: 8/65
Sunday Daud |
Critical Negation: 1d100 ⇒ 15
LMAO! Okay but I'm seriously pushing my luck with all this crap that I keep forgetting (I remember that Barbarians can rage, and the Spirit Totem and... that's about it...). So with that and his current actions I'll leave it up to GM to decide.
GM ShadowLord |
Sunday - It's not a big deal, I totally forgot that this third guy has a different stat block so I missed a few additional opportunities on you anyway with bleed and sneak attack. NBD though, next time.
Elisai's attack comes quite close to hitting Aldern, but he leans to the wall and causes her blade to swipe nothing by open air.
Delendir's blade rips open a deep gash across the torso of the new shapeshifter, black blood spilling out from its body to the floor. The hairless creature squeals in pain from the attack and tries to decide whether to finish the obviously invincible wounded Sunday or switch to a new target. Thanks for the Korovus reference, that was great!
Sunday's attack is able to catch Aldern by the slightest of margins, his sword cutting open a significant wound in his left thigh.
Jessica - Which baddies are you excluding from your channel? You can exclude up to you charisma mod which is two and there are three injured ones present.
Wicked Grace |
Are you sure? I didn't see the "Foxgloves" take their second round action.
Wicked Grace |
Del, can you move north so I can have your square?
Assuming Del moves, Grace holds action till his turn then...
Grace moves quickly through the doors and crouches down near Sunday, touching his brow with her fingers. She continues to sing, but her magic changes from one of inspiration to one of healing.

Sunday Daud |
As Grace's hand reaches forth towards Sunday the faces in the wisps stare with concern, some even starting to snarl before breaking down into whimpers as they recede allowing the Diva to administer her healing touch to the Barbarian's near dead body.
Raging HP: 24/65
GM ShadowLord |
Jessica - I still need clarificaiton on which two stalkers you are excluding and which you are healing.
The barbarian's whimpers cease completely when the shapeshifter reaches out and slams Sunday in the back of the head with it's huge forearm, blasting him with tremendous force. Before he can hit the ground however, the stalker reaches out and grabs him around his neck. He lifts the barely conscious and extremely beaten barbarian to his mouth where it begins to suck on his large neck wound and lets the blood drain into his mouth. Sunday begins to pale even more as a satisfying moan of pleasure vibrates out of the shapeshifter as it drains his blood. 14 Slam + 10 SA = 24 - 24 HP ⇒ 0 HP + 2 CON damage from the blood drinking.
Aldern is not in terrific shape himself, several wounds dripping thick black blood down his hairless body. Despite this, the former nobleman laughs maniacally. The sound is completely wrong coming from the shapeshifter's body which makes it even more disturbing. "Another sacrificed sheep!" Turning towards Elisai he grunts, "Your turn." as he thrusts his longsword through her belly. As the blade breaks through her internal organs and comes out the other side coated in her blood, pain wracks her body. With the skald partially impaled on the blade he smashes her in face CRIT: 19 + 7 = 26. As she teeters from the double blow he retracts his sword and reaches out to grab her, hoping to drain her blood much like Sunday. Fortunately she maintains enough awareness to feint to the side just enough that she slips through the large hands of the creature. A grunt of frustration from Aldern hints he is not pleased she evaded his grasp.
