Rengar Bloodfist

"I can try the grappling hook, or just hold my breath." Rengar grunts, though he goes for the grappling hook in his bag anyway.
With it he tries to throw it over the body and pull it so he can draw it towards the group.

Rengar tosses the grappling hook out about thirty feet with amazing precision. The hook lands over the body and secures a solid lock. He slows begins to draw the body in towards the group. After about a minute of slow pulling the body of the miner lays at the feet of the group. The man is still breathing but has some dried bloody wounds on his hands and arms.

His legs are broken, most likely that critter up there dropped him, the plants were being opportunistic in their meal., let me straighten his legs before you use the wand Trevyn."
Kneeling down he tries to gently straighten the legs back out, then nods to Trevyn. "Nice throw Rengar, hopefully my aim is as true"
Standing back up Tsadok says a prayer for guidance and draws his bow aiming for the leaf ray above.

"Nice job, friends. Do you want to deal with that ray or do we just leave it here and resume our journey?"
Shambala
|
"Have no fear, good man. You're safe, now. You did quite an incredible fall! My name is Shambala and I am a priest. What is your name?"
| GM ShadowLord |
Let me know if you want to engage the leaf ray or not, for now I will assume Tsadok'ul did not attack yet. Your path takes you through this valley though, so I assume its a matter of time before you go through there.
Shaking things off and rubbing his legs the miner indicates says his name is Drohm. He explains that the kobolds only recently came through with a dozen of his fellow laborers. He doesn’t know what the kobolds want with them, only that her captors were endeavoring to keep as many alive as possible. The miner refuses to brave the journey back to the Bandu Hills alone, yet he’s unwilling to venture on to fight the kobolds. He slowly walks to the top of the valley ridge, where he says he’ll await the party's return.

If we can't avoid the ray by going around or something like that, we should probably just engage it as soon as we get the 'civilian' out of the way.

Yeah, let's kill the thing before it ambushes us. Tsadok'ul, could you try to hit it, then?
Shambala draws a vial of acid from his bag and points at the leaf ray, firing an acid splash.

Tsadok'ul - Your previous attack is just fine.
Tsadok and Shambala both connect with the leaf ray and mange to piss it off. It swooshes in the trees and turns towards the party, issuing a high pitched squeal. The two plant like creatures on the ground suddenly spring up to face the party as well.
Hekra walks up and blasts the Leaf Ray with Color Spray. The colorful plant seems completed unphased by the spell however and only grows more aggressive towards the party.

Peanut successfully latches onto to the flying creature and brings it crashing to the ground. Once down, Tsadok slams his blade into it and nearly finishes it in one attack. The ray struggles, barely still moving.
From the south a patch of vines which is ornamented with beautiful crimson and violet flowers slides five feet closer to Tsadok and explodes in a burst of pollen like dust over both the hunter and his companion. Both need to make a DC14 will save or fall asleep for 1d3 ⇒ 2 minutes.

Rengar blasts through the plant completely destroying it in a single attack. When his charge is completed there is nothing left but various torn pieces of the former plant-beast.

Once the dangerous foes have been put away, the party searches the few other skeletal remains and finds a suit of +1 studded leather armor, a masterwork scimitar, and two potions of cure light wounds.
You take time to safely tend to the miner. He says he will stay here and wait for you to come back this way before traveling on. He wishes you good luck and hopes you dispatch as many of those foul beasts as possible.
The party continues there journey onward, slowing climbing in elevation. After a short while a deep ravine (You are unable to see the bottom) divides the valley here, bridged only by an ancient and crumbling span of stone reinforced by haphazard wooden reinforcements. A pair of ancient dwarven statues flanks either side of the bridge, each in considerable disrepair. An ancient stone building partly consumed by the jungle is visible across the ravine.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Looking at the bridge and the statues, Mazon feels uneasy.
| GM ShadowLord |
First, there is a trap hidden on the bridge. Carefully hidden in vines that hang from the trees above is a leg noose trap on the bridge.
Of more immediate concern, ten feet to the north of Hekra hidden in the trees is a strange, catlike creature with extremely flexible skin on its head. It's 5 feet in length with a long, narrow head and would weigh roughly about 175 pounds.
It appears to be watching you, hidden in the cover of the brush and poised to pounce.

The creature is aware of your party and as Rengar moves forward he can tell that is about to pounce. Acting quickly Shambala splashes its already ugly mug with some acid. The creature snarls in frustration and darts forward and bits a chunk of of Rengar's leg. 3 Damage In retaliation Rengar slashes the creature with a wicked blow that sends the creature tumbling to the ground.
