Trevyn takes a few moments to bring Arthes into the world, in corporeal form. "Let's go."
| GM ShadowLord |
Shambala, Endure Elements lasts for 24 hours. Since you used it late afternoon yesterday you are exempt from the affects this morning and afternoon.
Trevyn and Mazon are both fatigued until they take eight hours of rest.
Hexagonal basalt columns scarred by mining tools line the walls of the gorge. The floor of the gorge is a patchwork of scrub grass and leafless vegetation flattened by frequent traffic. Wooden scaffolding, mining equipment, and trampled tents lie abandoned across the camp. Dozens of corpses of laborers rent limb from limb lay amidst the camp’s wreckage, and dried blood darkens the rocks. Several banners depicting a golden crown adorn the scaffolding. Three hideously malformed, hairless, pustule-covered corpse moves and snarl more like an undead hound than an undead man. One undead creature stands in the middle of the three creatures. As you crest the hill the hairless creatures notice your group and grunt out to the others.

With the sounds of combat faded, the party hears a male voice shouting for help in the distance. Working their way to the voice they see a two masterwork heavy picks and a masterwork heavy wooden shield among the ruined mining equipment. Arriving at the man calling out for help, they see a man has barricaded himself inside of a shed behind the camp. He continues to shout for help every few minutes.

Before doing anything else, Shambala kneels and praises Dahak in the ashes of the fallen zombies.
Trevyn Deepmarsh
|
"Och, well then, that was quick. Didn't even need tha' wand. Where next?"
Rengar Bloodfist
|
Rengar gathers the gear they found and moves over to where the sound came.
"Oi scaredy cat? We got rid of the zombies so you can come out now."
Tsadok'ul Grodak
|
Shaking his head at Rengar's barb."hehe nice to see you can kill the brainless and insult those without a voice. We shall see if the same is true later when needed."
Rengar Bloodfist
|
"Fought in the pits before the Pathfinders recruited me. Don't you doubt for a moment I don't back up my threats. Ones who did either are in the ground or have enough scars on their body so they would remember. " Rengar says without missing a blink.
| GM ShadowLord |
Ever so slowly a man emerges from behind the barricade. At first you are unsure if he is another one of the undead, but when he speaks in a croaked voice it's apparent that the man is just severely injured. "T-t-thank you." he says before collapsing to one knee. "W-w-wat.water."
Shambala
|
While giving water to the man, Shambala draws his wand of Infernal Healing. "Pleasure to meet you, sir. Would you mind being cured by the powers from Below?"
| GM ShadowLord |
The man shakes his as he slops down the offered water readily. After coughing and drinking more he thanks you for the water.
"We, "He looks to his left where two other bodies lay, recently deceased within the last day or so. "I thought I was going to die out here! Thank you so much for saving me."

Trevyn also offers some jerkey to the starving man. Removing 1 day of trail rations
Shambala

As the man didn't answer no, Shambala will use a charge of his Infernal Healing wand. +10 HP

The readily accepts the healing and the food. He shoves his face full of it, tearing at the jerky like a wild animal. He thanks you profusely and seems to relax, having been on edge. He asks, "Thank the gods! How did you know to come and save us? I mean, me? Why, yes, I was a member of the Gold Crown crew. I"m the last one alive I think, I haven't heard anyone in quite some time. I've been penned up in here for about a week, I think, I've lost track of time unfortunately. It was terrible, TERRIBLE!"
"Our company had discovered an abundant silver vein in this gorge and have worked tirelessly to keep it a secret from their competitors. We were totally taken by surprise!"
He rips apart more jerky and finishes it, catching his breath. He continues, "The raiders, those little dragonfolks, they kidnapped another dozen or so members of the crew and marched them off deeper into the hills. Jersh said he thought it was a major kobold settled in a forested valley about fifteen miles away. We discussed the possibility of a rescue, but we never had the opportunity to escape unfortunately. Until now. I, I can get you the directions. Do you think you can try to rescue them too?"
Tsadok'ul Grodak
|
"You say you were attacked by the kobolds a week ago. Any idea what created the undead that my companions so quickly dispatched?
We could try and rescue your friends but we are here on a mission of our own. Perhaps the two will work together."
| GM ShadowLord |
"You say you were attacked by the kobolds a week ago. Any idea what created the undead that my companions so quickly dispatched?"
The miner shakes his head no. "I think they were unnatural creatures having to do with the dead. I'm not sure, but perhaps the rotting corpses attracted attention? I ran and hid during the attack and when I came out the next day I saw them there and they've been here since. Oh please, anything you can do would be more than they have now."
Rengar Bloodfist
|
"Do you know if an outsider named Sharrowsmith came through here? We are still looking for him as well."
Shambala
|
"Sounds interesting. What other camp?"
| GM ShadowLord |
The miner shakes his head, "I didn't speak with the lad directly, I'm not sure. I just saw him abotu is all."
To Shambala the miner nods, "I'm not certain mind you, but I think they sent him to the old ruins. There was a camp there once before but it was abandoned when silver was found here."
Tsadok'ul Grodak
|
To the miner "The old ruins would they be located anywhere close by to the kobold settlement? If you can point us towards the trail I'm sure we can make our ways there, especially if you can give us any landmarks along the way. Will you be fine if we leave you and continue on?"
| GM ShadowLord |
The miner shrugs and scratches his head, "Well yeah, now that you mention it, I suppose they are both practically right next to each other. I can rough together some directions for you, sure."
He looks to Trevyn and says, "Maybe if you left me some water and more of that jerky I'll pull myself together and be able to make it back to civilization tomorrow, yeah."
Trevyn Deepmarsh
|
"Och, greedy a bit, eh? I kid... here ya go." Trevyn tosses him another pack of jerkey and a waterskin.
Rengar Bloodfist
|
"Thanks for the help, now run along to the village. Kobolds are still mucking about." Rengar says and head back outside, in the direction the miner gave.
| GM ShadowLord |
Assuming you're not doing anything before heading to the other location. If so let me know before you go.
