Baru uses the cover of the trees to move toward the archer. While moving his tail pulls a wand from under his robe and places in his hand. He then uses the wand of cure light wounds to hopefully give him some relief from the injuries of the beast.

White eagle steps over toward Lukaas as he scoops up some dirt from the water's edge.
Katu Milaz Uakas Hanisa and he rubs the dirt over Lukaas' wound closing it up to stop the bleeding.

Back at 2/17 HP thank to White Eagle
Lukaas suddenly feels a pulse of energy, and rolls on his side. Fortunatly, he pushes the arrow out of his still bloody throat doing it.
That was close...it hurts, damn!Hope my sister will never hear of that arrow, or she will try to get protective again...
Coughing, he stays down, blinking at White Eagle, and whispering a curing song under his breath
CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Now back at 7/17 HP
Feeling better, he manages to smile, if only feebly
By Cayden's holy flask, I'll buy you a couple of drinks when we end this, White Eagle!

GM ShadowLord |

Gaeldrung - You can't make it all the way there and attack, are you single or double moving?
Eldak's orb blasts into the archer on the tree limb and catches her off balance. She slips, loses her balance and falls from the tree on the ground with a thud.
The fallen archer shakily pulls herself up off the ground and fires as Gaeldrung moves forward across the log. Still shaken from the fall, her shot goes high and lands behind him in the river with a splash.
Party is up!
Balance: 1d100 ⇒ 49

GM ShadowLord |

Nope that's fine we'll stop the encounter now with it.
Gaeldrung hefts the axe and brings it down on the fallen archer and knocks her to the ground, bleeding from a huge gash on her chest. Searching her you find:
scrolls of cure light wounds (4)
17 silver arrows
leather armor
buckler
scimitar
masterwork composite longbow (+1Str)
Out of initiative.

Briallen looks around for any other surprises lurking in the woods. Noticing nothing, she walks back to look at the alligator briefly. She says a soft prayer to herself before returning to the group.

Is the scroll with one CLW with a Caster Level of 4 or is it 4 CLWs spells?
Lukaas goes toward the fallen archer, and check if she's still alive after Bagthru's mighty blow
Poor girl... she should have listen. White Eagle, can we heal her? We might be able to convince her we're not foes, and maybe even gain an ally.

![]() |

"We need to hurry. Quickly see if we can do anything for her wounds, but remember we are working on a schedule." Eldak looks over his comrades, "Not to mention, we don't need any of you becoming more feral than you already are."

![]() |

White Eagle goes to the fallen archer, checking her status and if she can be saved.
heal: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Those scrolls are best divided among those that can use them. if I can keep this one from dieing without the use of a scroll that would be good.

GM ShadowLord |

Quantity four scrolls.
Without much effort White Eagle is able to stop the bleeding and stabilize the fallen archer. He sets her up such that she won't bleed out like her alligator friend in the river did and you continue on your way realizing time is short.
After walking for little over two hours, you reach a clearing in the forest. It's obvious this would be the structure "Briar Henge" you were looking for. It is a bristling fortress. The compound is roughly circular and approximately 100 feet across. The walls are made of tangled thorn bushes twelve feet high, although the compound does not appear to have a roof. The only break in the prickly wall is a gap five feet wide and eight feet high. Hanging ivy covers this doorway and blocks the view of the interior of the compound.
Knowledge Nature and Perception checks please!

It seems to be the place.... Let's go in. The sooner we defeat the druids, the sooner we'll get rid of this curse. Even if fur suits you better that you think so, Milady Briallen...

GM ShadowLord |

The party looks around while Elangomat scouts high in the air around the area. The party determines the following information:
The walls are women of sharp briars about twelve feet tall. If touched they will cause 1d6 piercing damage. Attempting to push through them will cause 4d6 points of damage with. One could probably climb the thorny structure using the thorns as handholds, but it would require a DC15 Climb check to take 2d6 damage. All checks have an associated skill (
Elangomat reports there is no roof of the entire structure and it appears to be four main rooms all interconnected by a series of small and tight tunnels. There are a bunch of rocks towards the eastern end and there are roughly four humanoid shapes in that area.
Furthermore he states that there is a particularly thin section of wall on the southwest area of the compound. With the information relayed, Lukaas's knowledge of the briars helps him quickly locate the thin segment. If this area is pushed through it will only causing 1d6 points of damage, DC15 Escape Artist for half. I've marked it with the red line on the map.

That's why I pay attention to what girls say.You can always learn.
Winking to Briallen, he then sends a kiss to the clouds
Thank you, my beautiful Leoria.Your lips were delicious to kiss, and I'm glad I've never managed to completely silence your words of wisdom and your knowledgeable lessons about nature, which are of great help today. If we meet again, O Leoria, superb servant of the Love Maiden, I promise to taste again your ruby mouth until the death of the night, while you writhe in ecstasy on a bed made of rose petals...
Then he gives a roguish smile to the gun-wielding woman, winking again
No wonder the girls fall for me, uh? But I guess I should get rid of this excessive pilosity before I try my luck at the ladies...So press onward! Any big stone or small fallen tree in the vicinity we could use to break the wall of thorns?

![]() |

Briallen raises an eye at Lukaas, "I see now why so many women are smitten with you. Be a dear and come over here for a minute." As Lukaas walks over she smiles brightly, laying a hand on his chest. "Now ... who is this Leoria?" And with that, Briallen pushes Lukaas through the hedge.

GM ShadowLord |

There are no trees at all anywhere in the immediate area, only overgrown hedges, weeds and these tall briars.
Briallen's shove pushes Lukaa's clear through to the other side and he disappears from sight. 1d6 ⇒ 2 damage. Once picking the briars out of him on the other side (love hurts), he notices a five foot passageway heading north and west.

![]() |

Owwww....I'm sorry if my reminiscing of past loves has hurt your nascent feelings, Briallen. I wasn't sure I had piqued your interest. Now I know...
Lukaas stands again, and, always a gentleman, gives his furry hand to Briallen to help her cross the hedge.
Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Swiftly, in one gracious and unexpected move, he brings Briallen's hand to his lips and kiss it gently for a whole three seconds. Two more seconds than decency allows usually...

![]() |

Briallen, caught off guard, stumbles through the hedge, cutting her arms and legs on the thorns. She seems to focus on the blood spotting on her skin but may have blushed a bit before pulling her hand away. "Well that was unpleasant," she says, pausing briefly before indicating the hedge.
thorns: 1d6 ⇒ 6 Ouch!
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Forgot that part :)

![]() |

Forgot my DC 15 Escape artist for half dmg: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3. I might be wrong, but I supposed the damage was only for the first person to break throught the hedges? Could Lukaas help Briallen to go unscathed, by cutting most of the thorns with his rapier? Aid Briallen, using Bab?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Lukaas was so surprised by Briallen pushing him through the hedge he didn't even thought of trying to escape the blood thirsty thorns.

GM ShadowLord |

Normally each person going through them would receive damage. However, since it is really thing right here I assume that once Lukaas is through it would create enough of a gap for others to scrape by unharmed. That being said, we'll assume everyone is through.
The group moves into the hedge through the spot that Lukaas so graciously opened up for everyone. Once inside you spreadout to examine your options. It looks like you have several different paths to take. Gaeldrung and White Eagle both report that the path splits to the north in several different directions.
To the east of the entrance Lukaas and Eldak push through a tree to report that they have found what appears to be a hidden chamber.
Six hammocks hang suspended from the thorns here, crisscrossing along the thorny walls. Two oaks provide shade and shelter from wind and rain. A few clothes hang from the thorny walls. The hammocks and clothes seem simply made. Near one of the tree trunks is a large, sturdy chest. Near the other is a smaller chest, whose open lid reveals several scrolls and tomes. Gaps in the walls allow exit to the northwest, north, and northeast.
I've split you up to reveal as much map as possible to allow you to choose your direction.

Perception roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
where from here?
Lukaas, all caught in the scents he can now perceive, the most suaves and intriguing coming of course from Briallen- bumps his foot against a large rock
As he's hopping, holding his hurting foot and growling like a feral beast, a brass key can be seen under the stone
Leave no stone unturned, as they say.. ouch! After "love is a crown of thorns", I wish I don't take things so litterally sometimes. Can you send your avian ally scouting for us, White Eagle?

![]() |

perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
Baru rubs his eyes and declares, "How in the world did you spot that key Lukaas? Amazing! Do you think it belongs to the chest, or something else?"

![]() |

Pure talent, of course, Baru. If truth must be told, it seems the stone found my foot, more than I found a key buried under a stone.
Lukaas seems genuinely happy to see Briallen laughing at his antics
We should quickly try to key on the bigger chest, before Gaeldrung kill every foe in sight.

GM ShadowLord |

Elangomat flies high above and relays what he sees to White Eagle.
I've revealed the entirety of the map, but everyone can't see that - that's for White Eagle.

White eagle holds everyone up. He remains as quiet about it as possible. physically pulling people back to gather them together.
Elangomat circles around and lands nearby.
a short commune with the spirit eagle, White Eagle stoops down and starts to draw the are out in the dirt. making note of what was identified.
He avoids talking so as to not arouse suspicion, also trying to keep the others quiet as well.

![]() |

I have moved people around the map to represent us huddled around White Eagle's drawing.
Gaeldrung considers the map and the placement of the foes. They are prepared for an attack on two sides, so let us rush them from one, the near one, here in the South. I will charge through and engage the far one here (red). Baru, you charge the other here (Yellow). Lukaas, keep the near one (Brown/maroon?) busy while Briallen and Eldak use their ability to stay at range and engage this one (orange). We must prevent them from casting spells, if possible. Any questions?
He gives them only a heartbeat or two to respond before gripping his holy symbol and asking, Will You Fight?
Casting Divine Favor on myself. +2 luck attack and damage for 1 minute

"Seems the best approach. We need to do it quickly, the faster we bring down our foes the sooner we can end this curse." Eldak stands and positions himself, waiting on Gaeldrung to begin their course of action.
As the party continues to listen to the plan being laid forth by Gaeldrung, Eldak reaches out and touches the half-orc on the shoulder and begins chanting in Elvish. A force field of some type begins to form around Gaeldrung before disappearing altogether. "Lead us friend, and hopefully my spell can be of extra protection to you."
Cast Mage Armor on Gaeldrung (0/1 spells left). +4 AC for 1 hour
