I'm probably not going to be able to post again for two or three days. I have a bit of a cold and it's adding just enough stress to my voice that posting is getting painful. (I dictate my posts due to disability.) A couple of days rest should help a lot.

Sorry to hear that!
Okay, I don't want to jinx it, but I think I'm done. Equipment is stil a bit problematic, but not too bad.
I did a lot of thinking on this. I wanted to make sure I didn't step into anyone's niches, and still kept true to James. In the end I got inspiration watching the movie Tag - Jeremy Renner's character (I don't want to spoil anything) is very good at sports. I used him as a sort of aspirational role model for James.
I ended up going Slayer - which James was originally - rather than Conscript. I like the flexibility of Conscript, but I was just falling into decision paralysis. Also for some reason there isn't an option for Tactician. Slayer (Vanguard) can get it at level 2.
I was hoping to do a sphere slayer, but the only archetype overlaps badly with Vanguard, which I really wanted.
I've pushed the 'study target', adding in the scout sphere. Rather than my original idea of stupidly high perception, which seemed to be Andi's niche, I have gone for Knowledge skills. I don't think anyone had that? I did like the fact James was using his "I'm oldest (just)" to explain things to the younger kids, even if it was mostly rumor and educated guesses.
I did change a few things from the previous build that aren't straight advances.
I changed the trait Godless Healing to Armor Expert... because I realised Godless Healing was a feat. Not sure how I messed that up. I figured James has been wearing sports armor most of his life, and now he has real, adult armor he won't be taking it off - with all the hygiene issues that entails.
I changed Skilled to Comprehensive Education. We had James studying (much more than he wanted to) with Lucy and her fancy tutors, so I think that works.
I also bumped his int and lowered his wis. In play he seemed to know a lot and still make terrible decisions, and I loved it. One of my original ideas was the 'x who should have been a y' and James has the right build for a good alchemist or a decent wizard.
I changed Dodge and Mobility to a Combat Talent (Huntsman) and Combat Stamina. I like the options they give, and I think the dodging aspect is covered by Combat Expertise.
So: He's a great archer who won't arch much. He's a good leader, and devestating if he can set up the right tactics. He's got a few out of combat skills - and no magic powers.

Get well soon! I'm putting a post up, you can act whenever you're feeling better.
By the way, apparently I have no way to edit the campaign info, so the link called "Sandpoint Battle" contains all of your maps and handouts up to this point. I'll rename it when I manage.

Not sure how boosting works in this context. Could be an aid, could be a throw roll? Seems like it should be more about strength and speed than accuracy.
At a minimum it means being able to start 4 feet higher to the top.

Tentatively back. I might not be up to normal pace yet, though. My cold isn't gone — though, I'm starting to think it's allergies from a bunch of ragweed in the neighbourhood — but my throat's feeling a bit better.

Hi all,
I haven't been too active in the game recently. It's been a point of contention all along with me, that the game runs too slowly for me to feel like I can get into it and really get to know my character. I'm going to put my limited brainpower into some other games that grab me a little more strongly. So I appreciate all the work put into this so far, but Andi will go into the woods to play with Licorice and eventually search for her long lost mother. Vorin, you are allowed to marry someone else now, and thanks for being Andi's friend. GM Sappy, thanks for the game and accepting me. When the website's issues are fixed, please remove me from the campaign. Best of luck everyone.
Vorin
Yeah, very sorry to see you go, though I totally understand.
As for me, Sappy, I'm happy with the pace. I don't think I can go any faster either, with my throat issues.
James Vestrana
Sorry to see you go Andi. Out of curiosity - what pace were you looking for?
I do think we should all try to aim to respond more quickly.
I'm okay with the speed. Posting more than 1/day is problematic for me, as I am desynchronised from the normal posting time. I can post a bunch of times, probably, but unless people are on at 3am...
I know GM posts are more difficult - especially with a bunch of cray kids doing weird things in combat.
I also know I'm more tolerant of a slower pace than a lot of people, so long as the game keeps moving.

I like games where the GM posts a couple times a day, and something is always happening. But that's ok! No worries. Hope you all do great.

oh! looks like they fixed ability to modify campaigns. Please remove my character from your list, and take care everyone.

I hadn't moved James for his double move. I moved him on the map, but now I am not sure it makes sense for him to try to slip past Vorin.
@Sappy - would it be okay if I had him hide at the intersection last turn, and if the guy runs past hit him with the jar of lime this turn? Basically a readied action, I guess, though hoping for surprise.
Otherwise I am fine to have him run up behind Vorin just as the guy tries to get through.
Vorin
Just wanted to let everybody know that I will be a few days off. Three or four, probably. I've managed to overstress my vocal cords again and I need to let them recover. I'm very sorry, and I'll be back ASAP!

What's the plan? To learn more about Chopper, you may ask around: many folks remember the Unpleasantness clearly, although you may get some rumours alongside real info.
Otherwise you could try one of the more learned citizens, like the orphanage/academy's headmaster, Ilsoari Gandethus, the resident sage Brodert Quink, mayor Kendra Deverin or Cyrdak Drokkus, the theater's manager and expert of tales and stories.
Also remember that you have a map of Sandpoint you can look at for inspiration.
GM Sappy
The most obvious person to ask would be Brodert Quink: he's acknowledged as an authority on Varisian history, although his own theories on ancient empires are generally regarded as little more than fantasy. As a result, however, he's cranky and quick to anger.
GM Sappy
So, time for decisions: do you head towards Chopper Island now, delay until the morning, try to talk the adults into bringing you with them or something entirely new and unexpected? I have planned for all of these eventualities, but I will tell you that your chances of success will vary wildly according to your choice here.
