And I am cool with that. Going to observe him first if he doesn't notice me then I will bug him. I promise

"That is, as long as your breast-feeding duties for your cubs are done..."
Ugh. I know that is a joke, but breast-feeding an owlbear sounds like a bad time. I suppose that is what you get, mixing avians and mammals all willy-nilly... :P

Right? I'm pretty sure they'd go more the avian route when it comes to feeding (starting with real food, maybe pre-chewed by the parent), but imagining them breastfeeding is just awful...
Amund Basurto |
That is possible Jetta. Hh and what the hell Balthus! You just cant resist can you? That what I like about you.
I went to sleep and stuff happens. So much. Now begins my time hopping.
Jetta Stahle |
@Party: Anyone want to tag into the discussion in the keep? Marien? Jetta?
Are we invited? Jetta would be interested, but I don't think she would just wander into the meeting.
Lord Perry Arizian |
Jetta could have a concern she wishes to voice and asks for an audience, noticing Perry then, or alternatively, she saw the two walking and talking about scouting missions and had something to say.
Balthus Tauran |
Balthus! Oh Balthus where for arte thou Balthus? Was I to mean?
No, you weren't too mean at all. I just thought I would let you have the final word this time. :)
Balthus Tauran |
Wait...everyone stop! Something's gone seriously wrong - Balthus is letting someone else have the last word. :O
Completely a jab at Balthus and not Fabian himself. I'm just sleepy and cranky and my sarcasm button is stuck. ;)
Yeah, I even compliment Amund.
Someone must have put some sugar on Balthus' coffee or something. :)

Perry! I found all your sugar - Balthus took it! It's him you have to blame for your bland biscuits! :O
Amund Basurto |
This is an odd way to wake up. I am not sure I did. Balthus is just so friendly, its weird :)
Are you going to redirect on to Perry? Starting with stealing? Because I am not ok with that. My other option for an antagonistic relationship is Jetta and she might turn violent ;)
Lord Perry Arizian |
I do in fact see Enrico brewing coffee and getting to know each character's dietary habits/preferences by trial and error or by simply asking. He's a good cook. +8 to Craft (Cooking).
@Mairen: I've sent you a PM regarding the Black Gate book until Chapter 4.
GM Rennai |
No sugar, touch of cream, or half coffee and half milk if we don't have cream...a fairly dark roast if you can manage it, beans finely ground. Wait...what do you mean Enrico's not real? Who's going to fetch me my coffee, then? ;)
Speaking of Enrico, when you get him built either add a statblock to your alias or PM a statblock to me so I can have a reference, please.
Lord Perry Arizian |
Enrico better have some coco powder for my mochas.
@Stat block: I added level 5 Enrico under my stat block. How far is everyone from leveling up?
On a side note, I used to draw up character sprites to use in my other PBPs. I'm finished with most of them, but a little description of how each character looks wouldn't hurt. Avatars can only detail so much.
Jetta Stahle |
Well, that meeting kind of flew by. I don't know what I could have added, even if we weren't moving forward already.
I'll grab the enchanted shield, if no one has any objections.
GM Rennai |
I'll go ahead and tentatively say yes - carefully done, you should be able to use the existing shield as a central piece and add more pieces around it to extend the cover it gives without damaging it so much as to interrupt the enchantments on it. The thing takes hits from swords every day; I'd imagine some rivets aren't going to ruin things too badly.
Jetta, would you be interested in that? I'd probably charge you the difference between a heavy steel shield and a tower shield (10 gp) plus the cost of masterwork armor (150 gp), since it's some pretty specialized work. If you're interested, there's a forge in the keep, and the blacksmith there, Partik, should be able to manage the work. I could even see a discount if you offer to help with the process (since the work would likely be done during downtime, I assume).
Jetta Stahle |
Sorry, but I'm not particularly interested in a tower shield. The -2 to attack rolls doesn't seem worth it without specialisation, and I don't want to overspecialise.
@Perry: Now would be a good time to get rid of loot. As our more-or-less official treasurer, do you mind doing the honors by selling the stuff and sharing the money?
Speaking of which, I added my old shield to the loot list for communal selling: just a plain old +1 heavy steel shield.
Lord Perry Arizian |
My mistake. I could of swore Jetta used tower shields, but apparently I was confused.
At any rate, GM:
Percival will keep 4 out of the 6 Stubborn nails for combat purposes and the Dust of Tracelessness (should we need it to evade pursuit).
What will be sold is everything under the 'Solid Assets' table in the Spreadsheet link, starting from 2 Stubborn nails until Jetta's old +1 steel shield.
We will gain 3,633 gp, distributed evenly will grant each of us will land each of us 605 gp and 5 sp.
@Party: Please log those under each of your character sheets.
@GM: If there is a way for him to get a better deal than the 50% discount from PC to NPC, please let me know. Cloaks of Elvenkind and Bear's Endurance Potions should sell for good coin here.
If anyone wants to make a claim on loot before being sold, please make a claim now.
GM Rennai |
He's killing me! :(
I'm playing him completely true to how the module has him written. However, does it fill me with glee that by doing so, I get to troll the cleric of Abadar and the Hellknight that have so incongruously been sent to parley with him? Bet your butt it does. ;)
Mairen Roäc |
I'm really loving the way the module is exploring the different political and moral angles of development. Really glad to see that it went there, rather than just contenting itself to set pieces and a simplified version of Manifest Destiny.
GM Rennai |
If it'd been set pieces and Manifest Destiny Golarion, I'd have either not chosen it or would have done my best to insert compromise and moral dilemmas - simple "everything the light touches is our kingdom" narratives simply don't appeal to me. :) That's why I did my best to assemble a wide range of viewpoints even within the PC group, to introduce more robust roleplay and a stronger story.
Amund Basurto |
I whole heartedly agree. I am really enjoying this game and for far more reasons than I got the owlbear cubs. I am thinking I will be running this module for my group as a test run for Kingmaker and since this one seems like one they would enjoy.
Jetta Stahle |
I'm really digging the themes in this module as well. I'm thinking of running it for one of my IRL groups at some point, as sort of a sequel for the CotCT campaign we finished a while ago. The Exploration and Kingdom Building rules would certainly be a good fit...

Link. From left to right, Amund, Percival, Anthuria, Balthus, Jetta, and Marien, Fire Emblem style.

Balthus Tauran |
I'll post something for downtime later (probably tonight) but don't hold things up for me.
Can we have a roll to see the owlbears bit someone yet? :)
Just kidding...
Game on!
Lord Perry Arizian |
I was actually worried about the color. It's difficult to make a demon-maw face with sprites.
In fact, any details are difficult, but I deliver.
I do worry that Amund is accurate. I have a Valeros sprite, but it's crap.
Amund Basurto |
GM Rennai Balthus is being mean :P
I will get the downtime stuff posted after work.
@ Perry Do you think its swarthy enough for me? To brown. Amund profile has a description. The others look good though.

Sounds like a plan. Let's do it, then! If anyone else wants to join in, give a shoutout - everyone can be a part of the reading if you like, and I can read concerning an individual's question or a question that concerns the whole group.
IC: No. >:(
OOC: I love harrowings! :D

They fall under the same "spooky bullshit" heading as well-done speak with dead - and as we already know, I'm super-down with that. :D
Anthuria |
Yea, I recently discovered that it takes a LONG time to write up a thorough harrow reading. But the results are so fun. Good work so far!
GM Rennai |
He looked at his companions, "I will bet you that I can spin whatever prophecy she has for any of us and apply it to any other person."
When I got my Harrow deck, I did a reading for my husband for fun, showing him how all the nuts and bolts of it worked. His response? "But you could make that mean anything you wanted!
Yes. Yes I could. That's the point, my love. :)
Amund's card is so goofy-looking. :D
It is, although it makes a good point - the bear tears off the ruff and party hat and shit's gonna go down.
