Hey Rednal, I know you're pretty chill about retraining in our other game. Does that hold true here? If so, how would you feel about me retraining my Mystic levels for Prodigy ones? Narratively I don't see that my character's fighting style needs to change too much, and while it's been nice to give PoW a bit of a run, I think I don't really care for it and I'm going to find it kind of unmanagable as time goes on. I'd like to do shoot either pure Prodigy or Sorcerer (sphere sorcerer) 1/Prodigy X but I haven't looked that close yet.

I wouldn't bother to retrain it until next level up, but I figured as long as there's a little down time I'd ask.


Yeah, retraining in this game is fine. ^^ Especially when testing out a system you haven't really used before. Sometimes the ideas you come up with just don't work out all that well, and it's not fun to be stuck with choices that just aren't working out.

Rednal where do you stand on Broken Wing Gambit and solo tactics. I'm of the camp I hit give them the bonus then when they attack me I get an AoO, but wanted to see where you were before selecting. Thanks.


"Your allies", in this game, is functionally the same as "you and your allies" except when it would be impossible. With Solo Tactics, you totally get the chance to make an AoO yourself, but you still need to have an ally threatening the enemy in question. Gotta meet those positioning prerequisites, after all.

Also, what's basically an extra attack against many foes every round for the price of one feat would be faaaaaar too strong in what's already a pretty high-power game. XD Positioning is the limiter that makes Solo Tactics reasonable, rather than totally broken.

Oh yes for sure, I agree there.

That is why you take eldritch heritage and get a familiar :) I agree also really strong especially with combat reflexes. So yeah if I did in now and just took combat reflexes and broken wing no big deal situational, but next level take eldritch heritage to get a familiar and now

Taka wins init and rushes in striking the bad guy. Bad guy smiles as they get full attack unaware that Taka strikes them back twice in return.

I agree we are quite strong and I will not go down this line, theme wise I like it for a samurai sword saint sort feel but very strong. I mean I'm already playing a synth summoner so... :)

This might just be TV's portrayal, but it seems like where you don't get Hurricanes you get tornadoes, and where you don't get tornadoes you get earthquakes. And the places that don't get those are on fire. Of course, TV is kinda overdramatic...

Yeah, I'd have said I preferred the murder weather, but storms are getting noticeably worse as the years pass so that's not my final anwer. But TV's portrayal is kinda wrong, because there is some overlap: for example, most hurricanes actually spawn tornadoes when they make landfall, but they're on the weaker side and don't get national news coverage when compared to the storm as a whole. Tornadoes in the midwest are where you get the single-cyclone town flatteners.

I live in the northmost tip of Tornado Alley but my city's in a river valley so most of the tornadoes happen around us. There was a storm about 3, 4 weeks ago that dropped 10 tornadoes across southern MN, and we definitely drove through the part of the storm that was dropping them on the highway when coming back into the town. Could only see the other cars' headlights in the driving rain, everything else was just gray and it was like, constant 40 mph winds. Then drove through this pitch black cloud, and on the other side it went from driving to just gusting in sheets. I thought for sure we were about to be picked up but no, it waited like 15 minutes before it was over a neighboring town to drop its like, 7th tornado of the day. Easily the scariest storm I've driven through... and that's saying something on rainstorms alone.

In MN we also have temperatures from -40 F some winters to 100 F in the summer. Not the largest temperature variance in the world (Siberia holds the record I think, and North Dakota is slightly worse as far as the US goes), but on both end its touching that threshold of "don't let elderly folk and children outside for the sake of their safety." It only lasts about a week each season though, and some winters are just miserable as opposed to brutal.

And uhh, earthquakes mostly happen southwest coast, but forest fires are kinda all over the west coast, concentrated in the middle? I guess I don't know if you have to deal with both in the same places, but they're adjacent, at least.

(You guys reawakened my 8 year old self, who was a huge meteorology nerd. And yeah, Shutai, I'm making you do the metric conversions yourself to make heads or tails of the numbers there. :-P)

OK, so, here's the loot we found.

Bar the coin and the horns, which don't have a weight, We have 1350lbs worth of loot. Obviously, the copper bars are worth the least for there weight, so I would suggest our strong folk focus on splitting that 350lbs worth of stuff, and then taking as much copper as we can fill up on.

If Taka's "we have the caravan come up and loot it plan" is for some reason out, then yeah, I think Shutai's idea is the bet way to go about it. I'm into getting supplies if that's going to help the caravan as we set out.
