GM Pox |

When you step in you are teleported into a different room.. You see..
The floor of this chamber is painted with the image of a large vulture, partially covered by an abundance of blood that stains the floor and walls. Though some of these stains are dry, others look distressingly fresh, and glisten with a tacky sheen. Two impassive, vulture-headed statues of greenish basalt overlook the carnage from niches in the east and west. A broad hallway exits the room to the north.
The others simply see Can dissappear.

Amarantha Van der Griest |

Ama follows rule one(never split the party) and steps through

Findlay McDougal |

if it's been less than 2-and-a-half hours since we entered, then<Telepathic Bond> is still up:
"Where did you wind up, Canaan?"
regardless of whether the Bond is still up or not, Findlay will follow Ama...

Hadjii |

Hadjii will be last through, as he was using the wand to cast Stoneshape on the wall north -- and if there is another room north, he is glancing in there before he enters the teleport.

GM Pox |

There is indeed another room Hadjii. With a similar looking Sarchophagus in it.
Arriving with Can you all see the same thing he does. Assuming yall move into the next room you see.
A barrel-vaulted ceiling hangs high above this awe-inspiring temple, and an enormous painting of a man with a canine’s head covers much of the floor. Four basalt baboon-headed statues stand at the southern end of the chamber, and two more stand to the north; each holds a wicked-tipped spear and bares its fangs. A large altar sits atop a dais to the north. Behind the altar stands a huge golden effigy of the same canine headed figure. A prominent trail of blood leads from the south to the dais, where even more copious puddles of gore have congealed.
All of the painting/statues represent Set.. This appears to be a sacrificial chamber to him..

Hadjii |

Hadjii will examine the blood closely, trying to determine if it was left in the last few days, or long ago:
Hadjii's Heal check: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (12) + 25 = 37

Findlay McDougal |

Findlay glances around the corner, and tries to identify what creature those baboon-headed statues might represent:
Findlay's Knowledge:Dungeoneering check: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (20) + 29 = 49
(all his knowledge checks -- except Religion, he does not have that -- are the same, so pick the appropriate skill if Dungeoneering is incorrect, and use that roll (unless Religion is required...))

Amarantha Van der Griest |

Religion if needed: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (6) + 21 = 27

GM Pox |

Hemket moves around the room looking more closely.. He immediately realizes the statues are creatures of some sort, probably constructs, but they do not move to attack while he walks around. He also notices a secret door NE portion of the room, as well as many items of value scattered on the altar and dias. Mostly appears to be gems of different variety and other shines. In addition the statue of Set seems to be gold.
Findlay recognizes the statues as Set Guardians, a contruct designed to protect things and have standard immunities, heavy damage reduction, and based off their eye gem colors are immune to fire and electricity.
You may ask two additional questions.
Again they make no effort to attack at the momentt.
Hadjii there is indeed fresh blood here. More than likely something was sacrificed this day.

Findlay McDougal |

Findlay reports what he knows over the mind-link, including special attacks and weaknesses (if any)

Hemket |

Hemket moves back to his position on the party behind his tanky comrade.
over the mindlink I rather think we should destroy these things before they activate. We certainly can't leave them in here behind us.

GM Pox |

They have an AoE Sonic attack that can stun and spells that specifically do extra damage to undead do the same to them. They don't do well with positive energy.
There is a set perameter for these things attacking and it doesn't seem that yall will do that, so if you wish to attack them you will have a surprise round..

Hadjii |

(telepathically) "I agree..."
Hadjii will start conjuring (his last Summon Nature's Ally 7) -- several seconds later, a friendly <cloud giant> will appear...

Findlay McDougal |

"Alrighty then!"
when Hadjii starts conjuring, Findlay will RUN up to Hemket; when the giant appears Findlay will cast <Greater Invisibility> on Hemket...
then he'll cast his Quickened Vanish on himself, and move away!
(two 4th-level spell slots used)

Amarantha Van der Griest |

How about the end where Findlay is?

Hadjii |

Hedjii pulls out his scroll of <Obscuring Mist>, drops to the floor for a moment, and casts the spell -- creating a big fog bank (10' radius around a huge figure) that will prevent the 4 to the south from seeing the north half of the great hall...
"A fine idea, Ama..."
then he moves north and up to the ceiling...

GM Pox |

You have all the time you wish to buff/move. It's on yall to open combat with a surprise action.

Amarantha Van der Griest |

I am going to delay until they move toward us and then unleash some pos energy

Hadjii |

Hadjii will call out to the giant:
"MR GIANT, GOOD SIR, YOU MAY START SWACKING THOSE STATUES!"
___________________
the cloud giant will swing his morningstar into the southeast statue, using <Awesome Blow> to knock it 10' over into the southwest statue, so he might have the option to use Cleave on the adjacent pair in the future...
giant morningstar attack: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (6) + 22 = 28
morningstar damage: 4d6 + 18 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 5) + 18 = 37
__________________
for his surprise round action, Hadjii will burn a Mythic Point to cast <Sunbeam> at the northwest statue:
Sunbeam damage on undead things: 17d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 2, 3, 6, 5, 4, 3, 6, 1, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 4) = 56
-- DC 28 Reflex save for half, and to not be blinded...

Findlay McDougal |

Findlay takes Hadjii's call as a cue to attack, and uses a point from his Arcane Reservoir to send a Sonic Blast at the northwest statue:
ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
if that actually hits touch AC, then it takes half of 8d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2, 2, 2, 5, 2, 1, 5) + 4 = 24 Sonic damage...
...if it somehow fails a DC17 Fort save, it is deafened and takes FULL damage...

GM Pox |

Sorry for the delay. We are starting another outage.
Hadjii's giant misses it's attack as it's morningstar scraps off the tough exterior of the construct. His sunbeam hits the NW one though with more effect.. It rears from the holy damage.
Reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 5 fail, blinded.
Findlay's attack hits as well.

Amarantha Van der Griest |

Ama will delay until the things move toward us in order to channel

Hadjii |

the giant swings his Morningstar at the southeast target:
augmented cloud giant's first attack: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (13) + 24 = 37 (does that hit?)
cloud giant's 1st iterative attack: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27 ...
cloud giant's 2nd iterative attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18 ...
______________________________________________
Hadjii flies south along the ceiling, then holds action until he sees that his giant has attacked the statue -- then he'll say:
"My apologies for this, sir!"
with that, he'll use a Mythic Point to cast <Sunburst!> -- all the badguys (and the giant) must make a DC 30 Reflex save or be blinded...
Sunburst damage on undead things: 17d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 5, 5, 2, 4, 4, 4, 6, 4, 3, 2, 5, 5, 2, 5) = 68 save for half
giant's Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 (not a nat '20'...)
Sunburst damage on giant: 6d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 2, 3, 1, 1) = 12
.
(giant has 188 hit points left; AC is 25 24)

Findlay McDougal |

Findlay will use another arcanist point to try deafening the northwest 'statue':
Sonic Blast (ranged touch): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
on the off chance that still hits touch AC, then it takes half of 8d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 2, 4, 1, 6, 6, 2, 2) + 4 = 33 in Sonic damage...
...if it rolls a nat '1' on the DC17 Fort save (I assume its Fort bonus is higher than the save DC), it takes FULL damage -- and is deafened...

GM Pox |

The first two arrows take down the NW one, the rest of Hemket's arrows take out the NE one.
Hadjii's giant hits the mark.
Dam: 4d6 + 18 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 1) + 18 = 29 and slams the construct over with it's breathren.
Hadjii blasts everything with a sunburst spell. This effects you as well Hadjii unless im missing something.
Reflex: 4d20 ⇒ (15, 3, 3, 9) = 30 all 4 fail and are blind.
S1 -68 blind
S2 -68 blind
S3 -82 blind
S4 -68 blind
With the ones close dead, Findlay cannot reach the southern ones with a blast unless he moves.
Findlay and Amarantha are up. Hadjii needs to save vs his spell unless im missing something.

Hadjii |

Hadjii's Reflex save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Hadjii will use a Mythic Surge to succeed at that save!
he takes half of 6d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 6, 6, 1) = 21 damage...

Findlay McDougal |

bereft of targets, Findlay will simply examine the altar: does it look like it might open? or slide out of the way?

Amarantha Van der Griest |

I'm good until they start coming toward us

GM Pox |

No it just has items strown across it as described before. Hemket did notice a secret door in the wall. Not sure if he has mentioned it though.
The blind constructs attempt to attack the giant..
Attacks: 16d20 ⇒ (15, 4, 2, 7, 5, 15, 4, 15, 3, 18, 15, 17, 1, 14, 16, 5) = 156 2, 3, 4, 2
Miss chances: 11d100 ⇒ (82, 23, 91, 78, 63, 23, 70, 97, 30, 96, 81) = 734 8 hits.
The base damage kills the giant..
Can is up and then the party again.

Hadjii |

The Hadj will use his standard action to drop the Obscuring Mist, and fly along the ceiling to a position above and behind the party -- glancing around the area when he gets there...
Hadjii's Perception check: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (8) + 30 = 38
is that enough to spot the secret door?
is the stuff on the altar just debris? anything notable there?

Findlay McDougal |

Findlay will whip out his wand of Magic Missiles (CL=5), and pepper the northeast statue with Magic Missiles:
Magic Missile damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 2) + 3 = 8
(wand had 37 charges left...)
"A silence spell between us and them would shut down their sonic attack..."

Hemket |

With the fog gone, Hemket will engage the NE statue.
deadly aim, rapid for 2, studied target
to hit: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (8) + 30 = 38 damage: 2d8 + 54 ⇒ (2, 4) + 54 = 60
to hit: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (12) + 30 = 42 damage: 2d8 + 54 ⇒ (7, 2) + 54 = 63
to hit: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (1) + 30 = 31 damage: 1d8 + 27 ⇒ (2) + 27 = 29 miss
to hit: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (10) + 30 = 40 damage: 1d8 + 27 ⇒ (7) + 27 = 34
to hit: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (9) + 30 = 39 damage: 1d8 + 27 ⇒ (8) + 27 = 35
to hit: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (16) + 25 = 41 damage: 1d8 + 27 ⇒ (7) + 27 = 34
He will rotate through clockwise if it drops.

GM Pox |

You do recognize the secret door Hadjii. The items are just normal things of value, coins, gems, and some jewelry. A nice sacrificial dagger. None of it magical.
The northeast statue is dead so I assume you mean southeast. Hadjii's missiles hit and then Hemket mows it down. The next one in line eats a couple arrows as well but is still standing.
S1 -68 blind
S2 -68 blind
S3 -146 blind
The three remaining statues rumble fowards, but are blind so can't make it close enough to use their ability..
Group back up.

Hemket |

Next.
deadly aim, rapid for 2, studied target
to hit: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (11) + 30 = 41 damage: 2d8 + 54 ⇒ (7, 6) + 54 = 67
to hit: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (10) + 30 = 40 damage: 2d8 + 54 ⇒ (5, 2) + 54 = 61
to hit: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (3) + 30 = 33 damage: 1d8 + 27 ⇒ (6) + 27 = 33
to hit: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (10) + 30 = 40 damage: 1d8 + 27 ⇒ (4) + 27 = 31

to hit: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (16) + 25 = 41 damage: 1d8 + 27 ⇒ (4) + 27 = 31

GM Pox |

At this point there's no reason..
Hemket once again displays a dazzling barrage of arrows that utterly destroys the enemies..
Out of combat. Nothing else to note but the valuables..

Hemket |

Just realized they were blind and I should be doing sneak attack. Moot anyway.
Hemket will check out the secret door to see if it is trapped.
