Hadjii |
Hadjii commands the Hyena -- which has just returned with stick in mouth:
"Stay, boy!"
Hadjii is most pleased when Findlay make him invisible again! He'll use another Wild Shape to morph into a huge air elemental again: completely undetectable, he'll fly east, then north.
over the mind link:
"I'm going east to the 'T' intersection...there are corridors from here going north and south, well over 50' each way...I'm going north..."
then (assuming nothing bad happens on his way to the corner where I move his token), he'll report:
"...I'm at the end of the north corridor: there's another block in a passage west of here, much like the one keeping us from going west in the engine room..."
GM Pox |
To the north you see..
The large, dark stone block outside this chamber is painted with the image of an archer. A large handprint (twice the size of an average human hand) is carved in the block’s surface to the left of the archer.
Hadjii |
"Findlay, would you please take a closer look at the block in the Engine room, and tell me if there is a large handprint on it?"
Findlay McDougal |
"Sure thing, Hadjii"
avoiding the toxic gases from the failed engine, Findlay takes the long way around to the north.
does he see anything interesting along the north way? is there a handprint on the west blockage?
Findlay's Perception check: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
GM Pox |
The door to the west in the main room..
The stone block to the west has a design on its surface depicting a traditional Osirian pectoral necklace of gold set with red, black, and blue stones.
Perc Check Findlay..
Findlay McDougal |
the arcanist examines more closely:
Findlay's Perception check: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30
GM Pox |
Both of you recognizes the design as similar to the collar worn by the chick yall met outside the pyramid. The image that was shot at by Hemket.
Hadjii |
"Is there a handprint as well?
Hadjii |
"I'm flying south...the corridor turns west...I am at another block..."
Hadjii will describe the third block
GM Pox |
The dark stone block standing before this chamber is identical in appearance as the door to the north, save for the painted figure, which is of a man wearing an Anubis mask and holding mummification tools.
GM Pox |
Hadjii returns with the info above. And since he can't post this week, would someone else care to move it forwards? He is pretty sure placeing your hand on either stone will open it, so north or south one?
Hadjii |
(I can post, but only in the evening -- I'm out of contact all day...)
over the mind link:
"I believe this southern one will lead to a laboratory for mummifying dead bodies...
Hadjii will examine the stone and adjacent walls for traps:
Hadjii's Perception check: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (12) + 30 = 42
and if he notices one, he'll attempt to disable it:
Hadjii's Disable Device check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Findlay McDougal |
thinking Hadjii might open the thing while the party is scattered, Findlay will run for the east corridor!
Amarantha Van der Griest |
How about north
Hadjii |
Hadjii has just checked out the southern stone — so he’ll try out his huge, airy, elemental hand on that stone...
an instant after he puts his hand on the stone, he’ll use his move action to zip eastward to the corner there!
Findlay McDougal |
Findlay will double-move, just entering the middle corridor...
GM Pox |
Air Hadjii puts his mit into the slot and the stone door slowly starts to open.. It takes approximitely 4 rounds to open all the way. This should give everyone time to get down there with a round or two if anyone wants to cast/do anything.
Once the door is open you see:
This chamber greatly resembles an abattoir. An enormous painted image of a jackal-headed man covers most of the floor, but it is defiled with bloody puddles and footprints. To the west are eight stone biers, upon and around which are scattered corpses and body parts. The western wall is marked with hieroglyphs surrounded by a circle of gems, and the entire western portion of the chamber is drenched in gore. The coppery smell of blood is overwhelming.
The painting on the f loor represents Anubis, the Ancient Osirian god of burial, mummif ication, and tombs.
You also see the woman that met you outside as a programmed image, excpet she is covered in blood.. In addition there are 8 mummies holding bows spread out through the room..
She speaks as you enter.
“It was my belief we would meet again, welcome to the workshop of Anubis—Anubis as he should be."
Her face then contorts hatefully as she cries out: “Soldiers of the Sky Pharaoh! Slay these intruders so that we might add their numbers to our strength!”

2. Elemental resistances and immunities
3. Special attacks
4. Special defenses
5. Do they have combat reflexes or any other ability that will let them make attacks of opportunity on me even though I beat their initiative.
Hadjii |
seeing numerous archers, Hadjii will cast his prepared <FICKLE WINDS> -- unfortunately, on the map as presented, Hadjii cannot get both Canaan and Aramantha in the radius, so he'll hope Canaan's amazing armor will save that guy...
Hadjii, Aramantha, Hemket, and Findlay all have protection for the next 16 minutes!
(although there is a pretty good argument that Hadjii cast before Canaan ran forward, since Hadjii -- surprisingly -- has higher initiative than the fighter for this fight...)
Canaan Fodda |
Canaan moves up to the closest mummy and attack.
power attack, bane undead (effectively +5 adamantine)

GM Pox |
Can slides in and hits a mummy hard..
Hemket fires at the boss lady, but finds she cannot be caught flat-footed, which unfortunately means only one of his arrows connects..
She howls in paain though as it does full damage..
The woman appears human, but obviously something else is going on here.. Yall can roll perc on her..
GM Pox |
The lady moves up and takes cover behind one of the stone biers..
The mummies all shoot at Can.. Checking for 20's..
Attacks: 32d20 ⇒ (17, 17, 15, 16, 17, 3, 12, 16, 16, 15, 4, 15, 10, 12, 18, 7, 6, 1, 2, 17, 18, 1, 10, 7, 19, 11, 16, 6, 7, 9, 14, 14) = 368 lol..
Dozens of arrows plink off of Can, doing no damage bt creating a potential bonfire at his feet from busted wooden shafts..
Amarantha, Findlay are up then top of the round again.
M1 -41
Chick -34
Hemket can't make out anything different btw. Still looks like a woman to you..
Findlay McDougal |
Findlay will use 3 charges from his Staff of Fire to create a <Wall of Fire> across the room; then he'll back up...
fire damage: 2d4 + 16 ⇒ (1, 4) + 16 = 21
maybe they're vulnerable?
Amarantha Van der Griest |
Ama fires off a channel, triggering Beacon of Hope.
She remains invisible

(the description for Wall of Fire says "The wall deals double damage to undead creatures"...)

Canaan will continue to hack away at his mummy (evidence of a bad childhood).

If it drops, he will shift to the other southern one in the wall of fire.
GM Pox |
Noted Findlay..
Can destroys his mummy, as does Hemket.
On their turn the mummies move up, 4 coming through the fires but can't attack from having hampered movement.
2d6 + 16 ⇒ (1, 3) + 16 = 20 they all take 40 fire.

Amarantha Van der Griest |
Ama will delay until the end of the rd
Findlay McDougal |
Findlay will move up, and use one of his 4th-level spell slots to cast a prepared Selective <Fireball> (even though there's nobody to exclude -- that's the only Fireball he has prepared...), catching 3 flammable mummies in the radius:
Fireball damage: 10d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 6, 2, 6, 3, 2, 4, 3) = 35
GM Pox |
Started outage so my post rate will not be high for the next few weeks.
Can hits his mummy which stays up, Hemket mows down another one with his tommy gun, i mean bow, and Finlay's fireball erupts..
3d20 ⇒ (18, 19, 8) = 45 two save, all are still up.
Hadjii and Amarantha are still up.
Hadjii |
Hadjii will use one of his two prepared <Flame Strike> spells, dropping it right between the two that were just Fireballed:
Flame Strike damage: 15d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 6, 2, 4, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 2, 4, 5) = 38
so 19 fire and 19 divine damage if each one that fails the DC25 Reflex save...
or just 9 fire and 10 divine (or vice-versa) for each one that succeeds on the saving throw
Amarantha Van der Griest |
Ama will lay down a Wall of Silver in between the mummy and Canaan.
If they choose to come through WOS: 3d6 + 16 ⇒ (6, 6, 2) + 16 = 30 and possible blindness/staggered
GM Pox |
More mummies are burnt to a crisp and the last two move through the fire taking damage..
Soemthing else comes spring through the fire as well. It is no the woman you sae before but instead.. It does not seem to mind the flames but winces as it plows through he wall of silver..
Will: 1d20 ⇒ 15 saves and takes 15d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 5, 3, 1, 4, 6, 3, 2, 2, 4, 6, 1, 2) = 51 25 instead, not blinded or staggered.
This brawny creature has had its skin completely flensed from its form, revealing the violent pulsing of its massive, exposed muscles.
It screams..
"I will have all of your skins!"
and attacks Hemket.

Hadjii |
as a free action, Hadjii will mentally ask Findlay to drop the Wall of Fire:
"The flames are blocking my view, Findlay..."
then he'll hold his action until the wall disappears -- shifting his initiative to just after the arcanist goes -- and he'll finally cast his newest spell: he prepared a <SUNBURST>! He targets a point between the 1st and 2nd row of biers, so the 80' radius just reaches the mean ol' lady...
damage to undead: 16d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 3, 5, 3, 5, 3, 1, 5, 6, 2, 4, 5, 6, 5) = 65
